  1. Mingo had the CB beat, he just couldn't track the ball.....
  2. Mingo sighting! He can run a curl!!!! Sorta.....
  3. When the defenses get a bit more stout, the offense tends to take on a bit more water. I will say, our top 3 WRs they want to play are sad..... Cooks, Turpin and Brooks. 3, 5, 4. SMH.
  4. I'm gonna say whoever runs the ball better probably wins..... Philly's OL is better than ours, but we've been playing better of late. Maybe they come out flat with Hurts being hurt.
  5. Some of us were talking about this during last game. It's the right call for a team not going to the playoffs. Get him healthy for OTAs. Guy went out on his shield and really balled the last half of the season with a gimpy wing proving his value. Let him rest up but still a fantastic season.
  6. Shallow cross with a rub and pick, it's a nice play call vs man, however the entire play is over before it begins. Look at Guilbeau's tech and stance. He's shading the sideline? WTF, if you're man why are your playing outside shoulder when you have the entire field to guard against? Only thing I could possibly surmise is he's a little confused with Barron jumping into coverage right in front of him at the snap. Otherwise, this is terrible technique and terrible effort. I don't give a shit if you're getting beat and then have a pick to get through. Fucking truck that motherfucker in front of you and do everything you can to at least keep him out of the EZ. This is what pissed me off. Bad technique and lousy effort from Guilbeau, who's had a very inconsistent year. Texas has it's holes in the secondary and they were schemed against last week, namely Muhammad and our slot coverage. Also, Hill look a little lost at times but our LBs are the weakness of the defense overall. Not sure why this is highlighted..... Basic comeback or curl out route run to perfection and beating Muhammad's brains in. Muhammad isn't as good as most of the fanbase thinks he is. He's solid and I expect to be pretty good next year with all the reps this year but there's a notable drop off from Barron to him. Remember, we've played some pretty terrible passing QBs this season and our secondary was rarely stressed like this. This is Hill just getting lost in Zone coverage. There's trips out to the right and he's shading inside shoulder which is pretty regular but once the receiver crosses his face he needs to centering up. Then another goes right behind him (although he had eyes on him coming his way) and Hill doesn't see him slip behind. His head was not on a swivel as they say and he's lost in no man's land and panics a bit by taking two false steps to the boundary, when what he's taught to do is to drift to the inside and really be in line or mirrored with the QB. Go back and looks where Klubnik throws this (inside the hash) and where Hill is when the ball is caught (a good foot outside of the boundary). Basically, this is just bad football. Poor pressure on the edge and Hill is basically lost in Zone and it's a pretty easy completion. I'd be worried as shit about breakdowns like this going forward. Bad QBs generally don't get to this read before they break the pocket and run. Good QBs score TDs. Again, not much to this.... Muhammad just getting his ass cooked. IIRC, this is the play where Muhammad probably has an illegal chuck early but there is definitely OPI with the push off at the end to create the separation. College refs will miss this one 80% of the time so don't expect to get this call. I'll say this, I don't like Muhammad's lack of hands or bump here. He's playing tight man but basically allows a free get off. Look as he doesn't really get a hand on him until his hips have swiveled and they're running. That's generally bad tech as you got the sideline, try and push him towards the sideline cutting off the throwing zone and constricting space. He doesn't do that here and ends up paying for it. I would say this may be bad tech but again, not sure what they're being taught. I'd also like to see him shading the inside shoulder instead of head up. Feels like they're expecting a lot from their boundary guy if they're not going to bump at all. Thanks for the post and discussion..... IMHO, I think we do have some things to be concerned about. Again, our QB competition this year was underwhelming and the secondary will be tested like never before the rest of the way. I think the question is, how much can they learn from this and how quickly can they get better. I'm very concerned about our ability to cover inside receivers and back who can catch. Very. I agree about the pressure but we don't get great pressure without Simmons generally and we're not deep with guys who are natural rushers. Good dudes who have good motors and try hard but not a ton of natural guys with bend and have natural understanding of leverage.
  7. Where was this defensive effort in the beginning of the season? We had 68 yards of offense in the 2nd half or something like that and we won! I don't know how I feel about continuing to get worse draft position but it certainly feels great to ruin Baker's week..... maybe his season.
  8. Holy shit!!!!! Dallas won on that shit??? Hilarious. What a play by Daron Bland!!!!
  9. Wow..... CeeDee back out there. Very interesting. They must think this drive is to put it away.
  10. Man..... now we're getting turnovers!!!! Fuck. Looks like he's down.
  11. Feels like Bowles is ensuring they stop the run but by doing so, he's opening them up on the 2nd level...... Tampa's secondary is just okay statistically. I'm going to guess so..... He hasn't played this half and his shoulder is really hurting.
  12. I will say, the OL (and yes a good chunk is opponent) has really started to gel. Everyone has really just got in the groove. They're still not elite or anything but they're a 2 or 3 levels better than where they were in October. Experience pays off and really great to see. Guyton still has a ways to go. Aubrey..... Cowboys MVP! I think Lamb may be out the rest of the game..... maybe Tolbert too!
  13. He's smallish, not tiny. He's injury prone. He has a defective deep ball and he's a statue in the NFL. He has positive attributes like a good short to intermediate game, he's started a lot of games so should be able to read defenses well, he has numerous arm angles he can throw from and he's coachable. However, besides a live but not particularly huge arm, he's not much of a physical specimen. He'll run poorly too, which isn't he biggest deal but just another thing.
  14. CeeDee started slow but man the guy is a baller. Frankly, we probably need to IR him for his own good...... I know he'll probably want to get out there again, but he does us no good if he hurts his shoulder to the point he'll always have a gimpy wing. We see you, CeeDee, now it's time to retreat and fight another day.
  15. Damone Clark was in the hole unblocked on 3rd and inches and let the back basically just slide off him for a yard and half. Probably why he lost all of his playing time and won't be on the roster next year.
  16. I'll say it..... thank god we have Trey Lance on our roster instead of Bucky Irving. I mean, we couldn't use that guy at all.
  17. JFC. How do you lose as quickly as Guyton did there? He hit no one.
  18. Okay, that's the definition of gadget, but not really the point. So, if we were to embrace this type of role, where he could play both WR and RB, could you probably cut Deuce Vaughn and call up another WR? 2 real RBs, Luebke, and then Turpin? Just thinking about how to maybe align the roster next year.
  19. Why? Like as in a gadget play or with some sort of consistency or as a backup?
  20. It's about timing and giving the right beats for the OL to make blind shotgun snaps...... He was fucking around in practice and the coaches and line liked it so they kept it.
  21. Jerrah will make sure he's on the roster just because of his ego.... Can't take such an embarrassment but yea, the trade went about as badly as it could or as most of us expected. Did we put down the shades???? Let's go out and make Jerrah proud..... play hard, make him lots of money and lose in bombastic fashion.
  22. Tiger certainly wasn't beloved by his peers, anything but. Not sure if you've read any books about him or from his peers, but Tiger was a weird guy with limited social skills and a huge ego (deserved). I don't believe Clark is hated by her peers either. Maybe from a few dummies out there but I think most of her WNBA peers probably like her or at least respect her, while some of them understand they're jealous of her. She's simply the next step in the evolution of the game, hopefully the league won't fuck up their golden goose.
