Haven't dove hunted in a few years, went looking online to find a day lease around Austin and almost nada. Any suggestions from the Surl on where to look?
Have relied on friends with land but over the years folks get old and land gets passed along or sold so it seems harder to find any hunting opportunities.
The show is what you would expect for these guys, somewhat solid, all seasoned musicians giving the crowd what they want. Was hesitate go but had had a great time. The newer lead for Styx does a Dennis DeYoung thing a little too hard. Loverboy cancelled because of Covid allegedly. Friends saw the same show in the Woodlands on Sunday and the +55 crowd was headed to the exits by 10 because of the heat and related age.
Just got back from my second trip down there this summer, a few observations:
Noticeably more crowded starting on Thursday evening.
Every place has a long wait, even the donut place in the morning.
The twice the ice places run out early.
The Gaffer is still the tits.
The Port Aransas Art Center was a great way to chill for an hour while waiting for a table.
No rain, soft sand, pay attention when driving on the beach.
Port Aransas is still a great little town, can’t wait to go back.
Everyone should watch Tales from the Tour Bus by Mike Judge. The Prince, Morris Day, Waylon Jennings, Johnny Paycheck and Bootsy Collins episodes are awesome.
‘New shit has come to light’ gives all these artist a great reason to give it a watch.
Also awesome we’re the Rick James and Billy Joe Shaver episodes.
MJ needs to continue this series.
Wish I had it done but it doesn’t interfere with my golf game so there’s that. The knees and trigger fingers otherwise…….

Westgate Mall had a Jean store (can’t remember the name) where little Al got an autographed poster of Rusty Weir out front after getting his grilled cheese from the SandWitch across the way.
