  1. 79 hours and counting with no power. can someone clue me in on laundromats? It’s been 30 years since I last used one. still coin operated? Do you have to use that gnarly powered soap there or can you bring your own? is there unwritten laundromat etiquette I should be aware of?
  2. I think we are in same neighborhood. Saw them an hour ago. Lots of project managing going on. They seem to have disappeared now. No power.
  3. 2021 for me was either 94 hours... currently at 59 hours would have to hit SUNDAY MORNING AT 1AM to break my PR (seems more and more possible)
  4. the 80's man
  5. i imagine there is going to be a huge run at the groceries stores as well. I figure most people's refrigerator contents are a total loss. this is going to hit the working poor much harder than those posting during the day from our cozy offices. Grocery prices are already through the roof ( I am sure replenishing one's refrigerator was not in people's monthly budgets).
  6. Status unchanged in 78703. In fact, it's eerily quiet. No crews, no activity, nothing. Feel forgotten. **driving around my darken neighborhood last night, i did learn those wall mounted porch lanterns you see at some houses are indeed actually powered by gas - only thing lit as you drive down a street.
  7. Still out in 78703. Going to bed as I watch the clouds of my cold breathe
  8. I don't.... anyone on here lose power today, but had it yesterday? who do you work for?! tell me now. 😀
  9. yeah, for a 12 hour period today (mostly in daylight) they went from 156,000 customers without power at 5:00am to 146,479 by 4:30pm roughly 10,000 customers got power restored today something tells me there will be customers without power by 6pm Friday.
  10. I have been finding myself more and more on Conan's channel (106). Sharp, witty, naturally funny dude.
  11. yeah, but HEB is not having to pay for the power they are not receiving. amirite?
  12. Those guys do God's work; i can say with near certainty they don't get paid enough.
  13. second exciting signing... 6'-7" Paul Onuachu - Striker.. funny tweet.. He is gonna be interesting to watch. Peter Crouch, Part II (another former Saint)
  14. Guess when a Southampton supporter is the most optimistic? The day after the transfer deadline day. Kamaldeen Sulemana to Southampton: Why dribbling sensation could be ‘unstoppable’ in the Premier League https://www.skysports.com/football/news/11095/12801261/kamaldeen-sulemana-to-southampton-why-dribbling-sensation-could-be-unstoppable-in-the-premier-league
  15. that is not how restaurants typically do it. They tell you an hour wait, and usually get you in earlier. Makes for a happy customer than saying its an hour wait and they get you seat 2 hours later.
  16. no one likes the neighbor whose house is lit up like a lantern and causing generator noise 24/7. Further, i shouldn't have to spend a lot of money on a generator that provides me something I already pay for and should expect to receive
  17. you saying all the deluxe apartments in the sky in downtown Austin have power? 😀
  18. is he even going to make Liverpool a Top 10 team? 😀 5 matches played (no goals) : 1-2-2 (5 points)
  19. i had very Archie Bunker type thoughts last night as i was shivering in the dark in my own goddamn house with the thermostat reading 48F. I pay my utilities bills on time without fail. i have worked hard my entire life. i don't deserve to have to live like this. I already lived this 2 years ago for 96 hours, WTF? i mean, i know i am spoiled considering how the rest of the 7.9 billion people on this planet live, but last night sucked (all over again). I guess part of it is the lack of control.
  20. oh man, i had the smoke detector thing happen early wednesday morning (5am). I figure the power goes out, the smoke detectors then begin to rely on the battery. if you have a battery that is dead in any of them, it goes off. trying to determine which detector has the bad battery is not easy! So, we just took all the batteries out at 5am, just get the alarm.sound to stop, and then replaced them with all new batteries later. Seemed to do the trick. However, one of the alarms went off last night around midnight from the smoke of a blown out candle. jeez.
  21. It's going to be a cold night's sleep, under 5 blankets and a beanie on my head. Snowvid, Part 2.
