  1. You’re avoiding the question. The issue isn’t if we would lose less than we do now but rather less in the future than if we didn’t have a real mass transit system.
  2. I would love to know how voting down prop a when the population is doubling in the next 20 years could possibly lead to a reduction of parking demand to the point that they are converted. That is bat shit crazy.

To clarify, there is no monorail in Prop A.
  4. Have at it. No local media will touch it.
  5. It's going to be hard to protest when they didn't raise appraisals at all this year.

Just a reminder that Prop A would fund a new train station at the stadium along with increased double tracking.
  7. She got her name in the statesman. Surprising a reporter literally asking readers for city hall "gossip" doesn't mention anything about the website documenting all her lying. https://www.statesman.com/news/20201016/will-voters-push-back-against-austin-city-councilrsquos-shift-to-left
  8. Voted on the Far East side of ATX on Tuesday. Super well run center. Best voting technology in the country. Vote YES on Prop A and B!
  9. The place where he was found was in the news yesterday for a different reason. https://cbsaustin.com/news/local/investigation-finds-untreated-wastewater-air-sludge-issues-at-austin-water-facility?fbclid=IwAR0ZilT3Q6RiR-ztkqioNrcZfNMSunLk7nEm6sMAkW8ZYxYuozJ_FnZjVgs
  10. That would make sense if there was any possibility that the population of austin would stay stagnant or go down but that is not happening. Even if post covid means 20 percent less traffic which I think is unlikely, we are still talking about doubling the population in the next 20 years. So instead of congestion getting twice as bad it might get almost twice as bad.
  11. Sure, they can drive to a park and ride and pay to ride it and that would be one less car on the road in Austin. Is that so terrible?
  12. Every single stop of the green line that is funded by Prop A is in the city of Austin. If Manor and Elgin want it to continue to outside Austin then they can pay for it.
  13. We don't have light rail. If you are referring to the handrail diesel commuter train, it's standing room only at rush hour and it's a commuter line. We're talking about putting light rail (our first light rail line) down the major backbone of the city as well as a growing riverside corridor to the airport.
  14. People want more dependable public transit. We are tired of waiting in the same traffic as a car. It defeats the purpose. better quality transit attracts more riders.
  15. Austin had double the amount of mail in ballots yesterday as 2016. Seems like in person voting will be at roughly the same amount for the 2nd day in a row though.
  16. I mute his retweets.
  17. Yea, I'm in the city limits but in Manor ISD. Posting this here again since it's a new page:
  18. You mean the train station that is ahead of schedule, under budget and will help with the frequency of the red line?
  19. Prop A is not a bond so there isn't any borrowed money or interest. It's more Pay as you go. The first few years will be spent on design and engineering which will allow the fund to build up money to pay for the actual construction. Then you have the project like the Green Line which aren't even scheduled for work until after light rail opens when the money will be available. The cheaper improvements are scheduled 1st like Red line improvements and the Bus Rapid routes, park and rides etc. This is a really good plan IF you like mass transit. If you don't then vote against it but anyone who says the plan is not right for X reason is full of shit or lying. The best comparison I have is Seattle's light rail. They also have a tunnel in downtown that helps the system tremendously by avoiding clusters, not taking away lanes for buses, and allowing the trains to be extended in the future which we could not do at street level due to the shorter length of our downtown blocks.
  20. It should not surprise anyone that the bulk of money comes during construction and we are just now about to enter the primary construction position of the plan. This schedule was public back in 2016. It takes years of planning if you want multiple years of public input and approvals, the necessary auditing of utilities to minimize complications during construction and proper design and engineering.
  21. The city of Austin has jack shit to do with AISD.
  22. This is the most honest representation of the tax impact of Prop A that I've seen: Please vote YES. The system is most similar probably to what Seattle has with the downtown tunnel.
