  1. It’s funny watching Texas fans talk about how money is all that matters.
  2. Maybe a bigger budget will help Texas compete with the bottom of the SECSECSEC.
  3. The groove is gone. Played 4 rounds over the weekend. 87, 85, 85, 90. I always felt like I was scrambling and then decided to get drunk as hell the last round. August got too hot and I only played 2.5 rounds in a 3 week span. Need to get on the range and start making better contact with my irons. Also need to dial back the cut a bit off the tee because it became a slice which is what I was very worried about. Going to get some lessons this month and figure it out for a strong finish. 56 rounds so far this year. Need to pick up 9 more before the end of the month.
  4. Ex had an uncanny ability to reproduce the exact aroma of anything she ate within 45 minutes. I secretly miss it because I have yet to meet a girl that could out fart her or one that would laugh at an awesome fart. Steak nights were awesome/awful.
  5. It seems to me that edsall is the only person who ever gave a shit about Uconn football. Like in the history of the program... literally.
  6. When you think about it, this is the perfect era for Penny and Brown to be coaching. I love Larry and think he might be the best XO coach of all time but damn that guy doesn’t give a shit about the (old) rules in recruiting. He just wants to coach and doesn’t care who you put on his court or how he got there. He will coach hard as hell.
  7. Yeah... when I was at KU from 03-07 we rushed the field a ton. It was fun, no one got hurt, it was right in the height of the mangino build up for the ultimate win of a BCS bowl. For a school like Kansas to have any chance to ever be just a regular bowl participant I think you need a lot of fan energy. I’m good with it because even if it becomes a gimmicky meme of Kansas fans it contributes to the energy we need badly. I rushed the field no less than 3-4 times in 2-3 years going to KU football games. At least 2 times in one season that I recall.
  8. 1-0. UT isn’t on our level at the moment
  9. Fuck that. This supply chain shit has to stop.
  10. Hahaha I think I have about $300 of credit. Luckily it’s my club so I’m always there. Bad part is that you have to ask to use your credit otherwise they just charge your account. On top of that, our pro owns the shop and is retiring. I doubt that credit is going to transfer after he’s done.
  11. Ended up in 3rd. I was one guy off from being paired with a buddy who is a 1.6 and incredibly consistent. Instead I got a vanity handicapper who was wasted when he showed up. On the first hole I was the long drive and in the middle of the fairway 45 out. He chunks me to 35 out. I chip to 3 feet. He misses the putt. Two guys suck in the chip off so we advance. He puts our drive way right in jail. I punch out. He misses green but I can putt up. Get it to 6” and he makes putt (par 5) we advance. I put one down the fairway on 3. He shanks from 120 out into a bunker. I hit it to 3 feet. He misses the putt and we chip off again. He wins it by about 6” but we probably got some love from my buddy the pro. He finally hits a good shot on 4 and I hit a gap wedge to 8 feet. He misses the putt but we advance with par. On the 5th hole he shanks off the tee into a bunker (par 3). I have a bad lie and blade it over. He gets us to fringe and I make the putt. We lose on that hole to two pars for 3rd place. Won $50 pro shop credit.
  12. Got myself into a 2 man, 20 team horse race tonight at the club. Looks like I’ll be playing with one of the better players in the first of two flights. Going to go out there and win this fucker.
  13. I can believe it but it’s rare. My old attorney was a +0.2 and his low score ever was 70 which he had only hit 3 times. His home course was a higher slope rating and in the dozens of rounds I played with him he shot 70 once and always shot between 72-74. It was incredible really but at the same time if it was me I might consider quitting golf if there was no chance I could get better.
  14. Great post... you should move back. Hahahahaha
  15. At my club, we play the white tees for competition and the blues in normal play, with the blacks being the tips. All of the older guys play whites but the whites aren’t our senior tees. For me, it doesn’t matter if I play the whites or the blues on any given hole except for hole 10 which changes the tee box to hit over water when you step back to the blue/black box. Golf for me is a challenge and fun from either tee box. I know I’m going to have a tough time hitting greens regardless because that’s my weakness. It doesn’t matter if I’m 140 or 165 out unfortunately. I just like to play with my friends, try and win some money, and enjoy challenging myself in my own game. If I have a bad day the worst thing to come of it is that I had a nice walk in the park with my buds (and lost some money). I’m having a blast improving so I don’t really think I’d have more fun shortening the course as that might make me feel like my gainz aren’t as real as when I’m playing from the tees I normally play from. That being said, I play where the group plays from because I’m in the top 5% in length at my club and I’ve got great girth as well, which is what the cart girls like.
  16. Play from wherever you want as long as your round isn’t more than 4 hours on average on a day when no one is holding you up.
  17. Patriot was pretty great. Nic to play on zoysia in OK. Had a new best hitting all but 2 fairways but still shot an 82. Didn’t make any birdies but had a ton of chances. Still need to hone in on getting closer to the pin and hitting more greens.
  18. Have 3 rounds on the books this weekend at my home (Tulsa) course, The Patriot, and then shangri-La at grand lake on Sunday. That’ll get me to 50 even in the year. Need 5 more this month and then 10 in sept/oct to hit 75 on the year which is my goal.
  19. Watched some videos on the R10. Looks awesome. Especially if you upgrade and have real course looks.
  20. Alright... discussion today about our office lease being up in Tulsa and possibly moving to the DFW area. Before a move is made by the company we are looking for a good private club to join, which will probably influence where we move the office to and where we reside personally. Can anyone speak to the clubs around the area that are good? Looking for a frat house type club personally. Not a goat ranch but a club with a membership that is active and has a good time together. A place where guys will show up to play cards, has a good mix of young and older members that get along well and mix well in the locker room and on the course. Not sure if this is the right place to solicit advice but if someone knows the area please shoot me a DM and offer up any advice possible. Thanks!
  21. That’s done. Don’t shit where you eat is the lesson. Everyone at the club knows what was going on so it’s all anyone wants to talk about and now I can’t get a drink on the course.
  22. That is identical to my 77. Which is also my low round ever.
  23. 77 last night. Play time is over mother fuckers. Time to go win a match this morning.
  24. 85 last night in a twilight round. Feel like I played bad which is awesome to feel bad and still shoot an 85. Only hit 2 greens. 24 putts. 8 fairways. Lot of confidence in my short game, putter, and driver (when I was off the fairway I was never in trouble). On hole 1, 2, 6 (par 3), 8, 10, 13, 18 I had a 9 iron or pitching wedge in my hand (130-145 out) and failed to hit the green. Need to hone in the short irons. 4 double bogeys, 4 pars, 2 birdies. Truthfully, I need to hone in all the irons As I had 2 7 iron shots way out on the toe. I also got to hit my hybrid on 2 holes that I bought it for and it performed exactly how I wanted. That’s a great feeling. Handicap down to 8.9. Crazy how this year has changed my game. Went thru my scores and my average going into June this year was 92.9. My last 20 now only has 3 scores in the 90s and my average is 86.3. I’m back on the course Friday and then my next match on Saturday. Then tossing in a Sunday round because that’s what I do. 46 rounds played by Monday.
  25. Taken about 10 days off and it's feeling better. I've been doing some pressure point and flexing exercises I saw on youtube. Also learned that a big part of the pain is blood flow. Took a hard flat edge and scraped up and down the outside of my forearm until it was red. That got the blood in the area and then started the stretching/rolling of the muscle. Worked excellent. Regarding the trip, looks like we're choosing between Sea Island, Puerto Rico, and then we have Scottsdale as a fall back if either of SI or PR doesn't work.
