  1. Thanks. Good. There is plenty of dead weight that can be upgraded. Especially on Offense. Cut any or all of Warehime, Meh, Drayton and Meekins and find me an extra coach for D and ST.
  2. This is why I am pretty sure we lost the Big 12 on Saturday. We may get the rematch, but we will be playing against the zebras too.
  3. Fair enough. Maybe I am reading what I hope as a ploy to keep my sanity. The fact that we have an inferior set of coaches to OU (yet again) is something I am trying to avoid believing.
  4. Some good stuff in here and @Burt Macklin seems to confirm my theory that we are just very young and that isn't translating well on the field. It seems that it may have a lot to do with the injuries as well. In a healthy elite program (which we aspire to, but have not reached) players like Sterns and Foster would have situational roles and be relied on for depth, not play every snap of every game as FR starters. That wear and tear seems to be catching up to them. The same seems true on the O side as well. Our RB room is an acknowledged shit show, where our best RB is a true freshman that should be watching from the sidelines holding a clip board, and we have no 2nd option. It seems that Ingram has never acclimated, but it would have been nice to have him pick up spare carries last year and not be "The Guy" from day one this year. WR seems more of the same, and maybe it shouldn't be, but when you compare the raw skills of Duvernay and C. Johnson to Jake Smith and Eagles, the younger guys seem to have a lot more talent but not nearly the experience. None of this excuses the piss poor effort we saw on Saturday, but the bigger picture has always shown that we are at least another recruiting class away from competing for real trophies. Guys that Charlie left are good, but not great for the most part. Georgia has confirmed their status as second tier, so the Sugar Bowl was a bit of fools gold.

Seems like something the position coach should do. Meh...
  6. For me it was the second series, when I realized that our offensive game plan was lukewarm dog shit. Funny thing was that Riley took Herman's ball control offense with a running QB and shoved it down his throat. Then he went all chips in that he could take away Sam and make Texas fold. He was right on both counts. I have no idea what Tom's "plan" was.
  7. Scrap the defense all together and simplify. Where is Gerg when you need him.
  8. I listened to B&E this morning and got pissed off all over again. What an absolutely pathetic performance. He better not trot out some tired ass coach speak, but I expect he will.
  9. I had to look this up, and technically it was 13 rushes if you include Duvernay and don't count Sams 23 for -9. That is fucking pathetic. Why didn't RoJo get at least 15 carries, maybe 20. I get that we have injuries and lack of depth, but man, that was a bullshit game plan we trotted out there yesterday. The truly frustrating thing for me is that we appear to be heading into another long stretch of seeing the superior coach on the OU sidelines. Not sure I can stand another decade of watching OU win the conference while we limp dick our way to a 10 win record and the Alamo Bowl. I guess I have to root for Riley to take an NFL job, because after the Big 12 Championship and this game, I feel pretty confident last year's RRS was the outlier. Herman almost lost that one by playing like a Mack disciple and turtling in the second half. OP may be wrong, but Herman has some proving to do. He was out coached in his 2 shots to prove himself elite this year, and he has a long way to go to get back to the Big 12 Championship. The way we played against OSU and WVU shows we haven't learned how to put teams away, and the fact that we make brain dead mistakes to help keep teams in games shows poor coaching on a certain level. Players like our younger WRs and DBs look very poorly coached on fundamentals. 13 and 85 can't run routes and can't catch. Our DBs can't cover anyone, and I'm not sure anyone on our defense is a reliable tackler. Players ran their mouth all week and then got their ass kicked. It isn't the end of the world, but it was a sobering afternoon no doubt. I hope Herman learned how to rebound from shitting the bed against OU from his mentor.
  10. And considering how hard OU sucks and the proximity of Dallas to the border, it is only natural that some poor Texans get caught in the current.
  11. Man, ok. I thought I was coming in this thread to see a lot of "Haha Chuckles lost to his ex QB and 5-0 SMU" not a rehashing of Charlie's firing. I'm happy to see him lose, but it isn't personal. I liked the guy, but if he is a shit coach I want him to be a shit coach wherever he goes. I don't want Texas to be the only place he can't win, because then we become the cesspool that Herbstreit hopes we are. He sucks, we know it. Now so does everyone else.
  12. Agreed, but it is working phenomenally for the SEC
  13. I will try to refrain from writing a novel, but I absolutely hate the SEC because I live right smack in the middle of it. I have a degree from UF (after Texas) and so does my wife, so I am not even ranting as an outsider necessarily. Everyone, and I mean everyone of my SEC friends have off handedly mentioned how Georgia didn't really seem interested in playing in the Sugar Bowl. My wife mentioned it right after the game and she has no love for Georgia. If Texas ever gave ANY inclination that they were not interested in playing in the SUGAR BOWL I would absolutely lose my shit. But apparently Georgia didn't want to play Texas just like Bama didn't want to play Utah and UF didn't want to play Louisville. Maybe they should abandon their tie to the Sugar Bowl completely. The rankings piss me off weekly. We have Aggy hanging on to a top 25 ranking at 2-2 after proving absolutely nothing on the field. On the flip side, OSU should have been ranked for our game last week. The Big 12 went 3-1 against the SEC last year in bowls, but that seems irrelevant on the national scene, since half of the SEC is ranked while no more than 2 or 3 Big 12 teams get ranked. The SEC has been Saban for over a decade, with a mix of Urban and a dash of sCam mixed in. Sure they are good, and I would grant they may be the best many years, but they get the benefit of the doubt regardless. Like the earlier poster noted, we get "SEC speed" and "SEC defense" shoved down our throats constantly. So just like a national title raises brand awareness, the SEC bias becomes a self fulfilling prophecy for the SEC. All of these recruits believe the hype and go there. I mean we have Zach Evans saying we barely beat UGA, and probably going there. This has trickled down into all sports because they wisely take all the money they make and spend it on some of the best facilities in the nation. And so the myth becomes reality in sports like baseball and softball. A decade ago the SEC had a couple of good baseball teams and LSU. Now they dominate in both softball and baseball. I will give them full credit for building a brand by having the first conference championship and pushing the league unity and the SEC brand to the front years ago. The Big 12 and their membership should learn some lessons from the SEC, no doubt. But the idea that the SEC is the home of the premier brands and the others are just a bunch of lower class teams in lesser conferences is absolute bullshit. Rant over. Didn't succeed in not writing a novel.
  14. Didn't see anyone do this for the BDF so thought I would since I was curious OU - 16 TCU - 12* Texas - 10 Oklahoma State - 6 Kansas State - 6 WVU - 5* Baylor - 4 Tech - 1 (proof of Aggy equal) Kansas - 1 Iowa State - 0 *not all P5 conference wins
  15. At least their conference helps to keep them ranked. They would be 40th if they were still Big 12.
  16. Damn, he almost passed his career best from last year in the first 4 games. I hope you make ALL the NFL money Devin!
  17. I was going to ask the same question, but use Vince or Sam.
  18. From inside the enemy lines of SEC! Country FIGHT!!!
  19. Also, in case you haven't noticed, neither team is in the SEC! This would be a Top 25 matchup if that were the case - call it #7 Texas versus #18 Okie State.
  20. LHN All Access is a 30 minute version of the same thing plus practice. But it ain't free on YouTube
  21. Ummm, they have won 7 out of the last 9 unless I am mistaken. There is no argument to make, they have owned us lately.
