  1. it's only missing "ilk" for the right wing trifecta. there's something behind the disingenuous language that extremist right wing posters use, and i mean the exact words. i'm not sure what that something is, but it's there. it's like there's a primer out there. or maybe it's fox news sourced language? you never hear clap-trap, screed, or ilk unless some extremist is going off about something.
  2. well it just so happens that I've had a smoldering coal burn my sack so maybe I'm slightly immune hahahaha who am i kidding gutfeld is terrible but i would still rather watch gutfeld over maher
  3. i'd rather watch gutfeld to be honest
  4. i find it's best not to sit and ruminate on currency overly much. the economic cornerstone of all trade is a bullshit belief system, and has been since forever. it's amazing that we are still clinging to a rare-ish shiny soft rock with limited utility as a thing upon which to base this belief system.
  5. i once had this hare brained idea to turn myself into a maga person and just run as a republican for some winnable house district. just fundraise and lie and lie and lie. and then get elected and immediately change to a democrat just for the lulz. like a hard swerve, jim ross "ohmygod it's hayden horn with a steel chair" kind of thing. thought it would be funny. unrealistic, and i lack the motivation and the ability to bald-faced lie and sell my soul, but it was a fun idea, like winning the lottery. but this guy went and did that already, but better.
  6. luca brasi
  7. this is a very good point. but it would be the least surprising thing ever with this dude. i don't understand what makes him tick. i can usually understand motivations, kind of empathize even with bad people at times. this dude though, he's not evil. he's certainly not good, but he's more just an agent of chaos. like the joker in the dark knight.
  8. well, i wouldn't fuck him, but i'm a straight white dude, so...to me, it looks like not a half bad effort.
  9. when using a gun in a manner that could kill someone? yeah, i think it is. especially as an executive producer. but even so, you wouldn't engage a chainsaw (presumably) on a set without making sure the chain wasn't going to dismember a member of the crew, right? or stab someone with a fake knife before checking it to make sure it's not an actual butcher knife? with guns, it's a very different world, and this wasn't just some prop gun. it could shoot live ammo. if i have to take a fucking it security training every year at my workplace, i can imagine an actor using firearms on a set should meet some sort of safety standard as well. there are executive producers and there are executive producers. then there are guys with the title executive producer who accidentally shoot the fucking cinematographer and kill her.
  10. that's not a half bad drag effort. i can't figure this guy out. there's no way he's a traditional republican in the same sense that diamond and silk were not. so what's the attraction? is it simply mental illness? or is it mad graft? i just can't figure it. go be gay, dude. don't join the party that hates you. unless you plan to sabotage from within, then by all means, continue the farce.
  11. yeah but he's also the boss of the production edit: but even so the da said he's charged both ways because actors should know firearm etiquette as well. also he had to have pulled the trigger.
  12. i dunno either. nap was good though. i do find it slightly funny that negligent use of a firearm is even a charge in new mexico given that i think their state law stipulates that three out of every four non interstate street signs must have at least one bullet hole or shotgun blast marking it in some way
  13. i stand corrected. i have come into the living room for a nap and heard the da say she is sure that he pulled the trigger and he's culpable as both producer and actor
  14. i ain't no law dog, but i heard someone on cnn say as i was passing through the living room that the charge was the cost of the title of executive producer. if he was just an actor handed a gun, culpability is pretty low. but when you are in charge of the production, then the buck has to stop somewhere.
  15. this story really is incredible. i mean, you couldn't make up a story about a person who spent years lying about themselves in public, grotesquely trying to grift in any way possible by lying about the stupidest things, like, oh, being in emergency management or making a lingerie football team, who has done questionable sexual stuff online including cosplay, webcams, posting supposed private messages between her and a very public local figure, then posting nudes of herself after soliciting advice on whether or not to get boob implants, and then got elected to a very public office? i mean, that would be some crazy bullshit, right?
  16. we've all known people like this. i used to know a guy who would play poker. pretty good player, took risks, won pretty big at times. but he always lost it all in the end. because he didn't sit down to win. he sat down to lose. that's what elon is. he's a loser. he needs to lose. there's something about him that is just a loser crying out for help that no one will give him because he'll never accept it. also, he's on drugs.
  17. we used to talk so much shit about louisiana and crossing that state line back in the day. i shit you not, it's still bad, but it used to be smooth sailing until pothole fucking city on the louisiana side of the bridge. now the roles are somewhat, if not completely, reversed. it's fucking maddening.
  18. i'm sure that makes billy feel better about telling him to get him shinebox. (but i do take your ultimate point, i just don't get it in most contexts. you can be correct and an asshole and still dead.)
  19. this one is always a headscratcher to me. people use the shinebox all the fucking time like it's a case closed. "go get your fucking shinebox!" - it's a way of telling someone they are out of their fucking depth, right? my problem with that is that billy batts ends up beaten mostly to death in the trunk of the car after telling tommy how it was. yeah, he was made, and yeah, they shouldn't have done it, but my point is that telling someone to get their fucking shinebox, in the origin story of the fucking saying, the guy who says it ends up beaten, then stabbed, then buried, then exhumed, then buried again.
  20. i'm a total sucker for and love award shows, but i missed the golden globes last night after telling myself and my wife over the weekend that we should totally watch them. she rolled her eyes, but she gets it. then i forgot all about it. not sure what that says about the relevancy of awards shows, but i guess it ain't good. i'm all caught up on twitter thanks to this thread.
  21. holy balls this is amazing if i wasn't averse to having elon fucking musk's face on my wall, i could easily see this as art in my home.
  22. that's great it starts with an earthquake birds and snakes and airplanes
