  1. yeah, i know, but my point is that scalia would've worn the fucking mask. but also, as much as i take issue with a ton of his decisions, he was a man of honor. so if he didn't really want to wear the mask, his choice would've been "go remote or wear the mask," not "make the medically at risk person go remote or wear the mask."
  2. so i recently rewatched goodfellas, and i think the same thing is playing out in the republican party. they are going to try and eat their own. right now, trump runs the ship, but there is grumbling. but more than that, there is ambition. and the ambition is going to eat itself up. we've seen this happen with the democratic party in the past, but not to this criminal degree. i mean, how many fucking crooks are there in the republican party? desantis v trump. who wins? we all do.
  3. scalia would've worn the fucking mask, because he damn well wouldn't have gone remote. imagine being such an asshole that you won't make an accommodation for one of your 8 colleagues. and then imagine that scalia wouldn't have been such an asshole as you.
  4. great minds...
  5. the express is a tabloid muckraking outfit. why not do a little fact checking right to the source: https://www.gov.scot/publications/coronavirus-covid-19-fertility-treatment-for-unvaccinated-patients/ Read the whole letter. then ask yourself how that compares to the shit article you linked from a right wing tabloid rag. is any of that source information from the instigator of the deferral anywhere at all in that shitass article you linked? oh, it isn't. maybe you should wonder why. but everyone knows you won't.
  6. it's the fucking express
  7. also, at some point, when discussion of a news situation expires, and the follow up discussion takes place, yall are going to have to get used to getting threads moved to cloak room, exactly for the reason right above.
  8. enjoy the three day break
  9. running dak there was stupid, but the ref moving that ball around 2 - 3 times is also pretty inexcusable. The fuck was he doing except ensuring the clock expired? He just touches it and backs off, they have 1 - 2 seconds for a shot to the endzone. Why was he moving it around like that?
  10. imagine spending any amount of time defending this meathead bro. at some point you have to ask yourself "why am i spending all this time defending joe fucking rogan," right?
  11. i only watched part of the game i said i would not watch because the wife loves football. i stand by my assertion that we shouldn't see conference members playing for the national championship. we already saw this game. bama killed them. now bama was down two players. georgia killed them. yawn. it's a tie as far as i'm concerned.
  12. lol bama. enjoy your sec championship. you sowed the whirlwind. reap it you fucks.
  13. i dunno. they moved matt to 101x with cj to keep him on ice. matt knew then that dale was done, and that's why he was ducking him. who knows who else knew? my point about matt was that he knew. and that's fine. he's got a family to take care of, just like the rest of us, and none of us want to submarine our jobs. it's no skin off my back. dale had become a bit too raw, and he clearly butted heads with ownership, both over content and politically, which has something to do with content, in the end. but i liked coyote, and i hate that they 86ed that show. i listened daily. it was something cool and different, though i got tired of the music being played. i have no idea why, in this day and age of streaming music, the local station with local hosts feels the need to play fucking music during the local content. we aren't tuning in for the fucking classic rock, my dudes. i listened briefly this morning. they must not be doing podcasts yet, or maybe it's just not up yet, but what i heard was alright. felt like a crowded room after it was just bob and chuy with a volunteer intern. it's just a bit of an end of an era. dale was a pain in the ass, but he was our pain in the ass. his advocacy for mental health will be missed.
  14. i didn't get the idea of an old neo or whatever else was happening in the reflections. like if neo if an old guy, why isn't he an old guy outside of the matrix? either it's an important detail or it's not
  15. um, what? you are such a fucking joke of a poster. when people roll their eyes at you, it's a pretty clear indication that maybe you haven't thought things through. but it's also an indication of disagreement, and you know what? disagreeing about political opinions is basically the fucking foundation of this country. when you bitch about people being intolerant of your opinions, you are basically being a child about it. argue your opinions. complaining about people disagreeing? i mean, are you 7 years old? this is why i laugh when people talk about the cloak room as a cabal or however you want to try to characterize it. i'm sorry yall cannot successfully argue your opinions. this isn't an echo chamber any more than the old shaggybevo cr was a conservative echo chamber. good rhetoric with good opinions - that works. when you can't argue successfully, you should not blame the person with whom you argue. it's on you, dude.
  16. so it'll be matt bearden and bob and chuy and bedo starting from monday. not the best look for matt, even though i reckon it wasn't his intention to drive dale out of the business. but the management definitely set him up to be the hitman. now he's going to be the standard bearer for the new show, most likely. hopefully, it's good. dale was running out of gas, i think, but it sure seems to me that matt set up the bomb.
  17. i don't think karen means what you think it means.
  18. i dunno. maybe it's because i'm a forty-something, but there was something about this show that i really liked. it was an adult show for adults who have lived lives which grew up as dale grew up. seeing dale go is a piece of austin going away. i really leaned into it as covid kept on going. we need local content more than ever. but sinclair doesn't believe in that. i've already said it, and he had issues, but shit, this dude was my alarm clock for years in the early 00s. thing is, everything fell apart in september when he was committed. just a shame, i reckon. it is always interesting when radio management just doesn't fucking get it. that's what happened to 1300 the zone. just don't understand what makes people listen.
  19. other than that, i guess, i was a huge yawn. it's a miracle i stayed awake. which, when considering ag type things, is a good thing. i should be sleepy when the ag is talking.
  20. maybe, i guess. i've turned into a podcast guy. i'm obviously not the audience that klbj is going for. i don't know the demographic targeting that they are doing, but it's clearly not me. i really liked matt bearden's coyote show. i liked him on the dudley and bob show. now? i dunno. as much baggage as dudley had, he was a force of nature, a real person, with real problems that he talked about, not some bobby bones or ryan seacrest pretend act. you can hate on him all you want, but he was at least honest. same with ward. sinclair seems to dislike honesty, i guess. so i'm back to straight podcasts, and maybe the horn. it's a shame.
  21. well, his wife cheated on him (apparently) and he went suicidal. was committed. came back, was overmedicated on prescription meds, matt left the show. i dunno, the whole thing is a clusterfuck. local content is the only way terrestrial radio lives. that company that bought all those stations doesn't seem to understand that. let's hear some more led zeppelin, as though i can't hear that on spotify or pandora. i dunno. whatever. i had issues with dale and his ego or whatever, but he was our radio host. he was our ego. same with ward. in one year, you just jettisoned the top two radio personalities in the area. and you had a good thing going with bearden and rosenquist, and you just fucked all that up too. oh good, more scorpions. more dio. i'm out.
  22. https://jeffwardshow.com/ you can listen to it here. though he has like 3 sponsors, so i'm not sure how long it can keep on. two of his sponsors are the same guy. atx hot sauce and supreme lending are the same dude.
  23. why even bring him back from vacation? that's some bush league bullshit. if you knew he was gone prior to christmas, get rid of him then. dale had his issues, but the ownership of that station group is fucking stupid. firing jeff ward. getting rid of coyote, which was a breath of weird afternoon fresh air and firing abby rosenquist. moving matt to some weird show with cj morgan. now firing dale. i feel like this is 1300 the zone all over again. welcome to irrelevance, i guess. well done sinclair, you fucking idiot.
