  1. well, ain't this some shit. open looks, bad jump shots, and missed layups. get it together, yall
  2. he looks like he's reading a printed out listener comment there. i don't know or defending jimmy dore in any way, but it looks to me like that wasn't his presentation, though he did choose to read it i guess.
  3. yeah, so i gave him three days off for that. next one is a permaban. i also left it up so people could see what a racist shitbag of a poster that is.

  5. and since this is cloaky, i think this should be subject to international treaty. i'm sick of my boss in the uk having an extra hour to hassle me for two extra weeks of the year. even though he's a good guy, i get more work done in my afternoons.
  6. yeah, and so what. i lived with that in Japan, and it took me a week to acclimate. of course it takes me a week to acclimate to our clock changes as it is. it's the sudden change that bothers me. if we stayed on standard time all year, you'd be used to it by the time the sun comes up at 5am. to me, though, it doesn't really matter. i think there's this idea out there that if the sun comes up earlier, we'll save on energy, which i guess could be true, if the sun sets earlier when we get home. but i cannot think that the savings are massive. most people don't manage their thermostats for home and away in the first place. sun's up and the heat is on no matter what time we call it.
  7. man, that place has changed a ton since i left in 96 also, i watched the whole damn thing. that was....amazing. red dress is killing me in the background
  8. all three sides!
  9. is this person old enough to go die for our country abroad? would they be tried as an adult for committing a crime? are they an adult according to our laws nationwide? my sons have plenty of trans friends or "they/them" friends, or whatever. some of it is real, some of it is what i like to call "trying on clothes," which is not meant to be denigrating in any way, but i think some of these kids are swept up in it. which is fine. some kids go goth. some kids say they are gay when they are not. some say they are transgender when they really are not. that's middle school. but there are enough kids for whom this is real that we need to take it seriously, not try to identify an outlier who was having identity issues. on some level we all have identity issues of varying degrees. a little empathy goes a long way. my son and i play d&d with his cousin and her friends, one of whom is a "they/them." it doesn't matter to my son, and it doesn't matter to me. i'll call you late for dinner if you ask me. it's your identity, not mine. i just don't get the hate.
  10. what, no zerohedge? you dudes are slipping. or getting more clever. i can't figure out which.
  11. the thing about bills like this is the cruelty and the hate are the point. you can tell by his response to that reporter. my kids went to elementary school. there were plenty of same sex couples with kids in his classroom. if 2nd grader jimmy sees two moms drop off his friend johhny, and asks the teacher about it, is the teach allowed to answer? also, this idea that we should NOT be normalizing other situations, whether it be gay parents, divorced parents, adoption, whatever - that's madness. ask yourself, if you support this idea, is it because it makes you somehow feel better or superior? are you protecting some idea of american/western culture? or are you after the best interests of the children? somehow, i don't think it's the latter.
  12. oh. okay. i will search my memory for such a terrible 24 hour suspension. your shit isn't the only shit i have going on. sorry i don't remember.
  13. if you are going to @ me, some kind of reference as to what you are talking about would be nice

  17. protip: just because you say "no cr" does not mean you won't get a day off for posting cr shit in this thread. at this point i'm getting tempted to move it to cr. keep it clean, folks.
  18. yeah, that and "ukraine is not a crisis for us." these are huge tells.
  19. might be nsfw, depending if "shit" is a problem.
  20. remember when he wanted to buy greenland? ah, the good old days
  21. one of my son's favorite movies. "rather you asked first, old boy"
  22. let me put it another way: what does russia covet, and always have? why are they so goddamn interested in currying favor with erdogan and trying to find inroads in the black sea? they've spent centuries on this project. it's a warm weather port. that's part of the reason why georgia was so important. that's why crimea was so important. it's why donbas is so important. these are centuries long goals for the russians. it's the key to the mediterranean, and the rest of the world.
  23. the government had nothing to do with it. well, of course, government funded nasa assisted a lot. and they government contracts to get a lifeline. but the government had nothing to do with it. i'm just shrugging. i don't really care to argue. what he's done with the landing rocket has blown my mind. but i'm just saying your point that he went it alone is silly. he had significant government assistance. certainly, spacex did a lot of heavy lifting. but saying the government had "nothing to do with it" seems silly. they couldn't have done it without nasa and jpl. and cloak room would have to do with a prolonged discussion about government assistance and how we want to quantify that in dt, and i'm going to bow out now, unless you want to talk about it over there.
