  1. Which one? I don't know who the black girl is, but the white girl is Bobbi Althoff. She's a newly famous podcaster or influencer or whatever. She's sneaky hot. Her interviews are a bit, thankfully.
  2. I know of one in the last series. I can't remember who it was, but the guy stole second. The announcers said that we had not thrown anyone out all year and the guy tried to steal third. Diaz threw him out. It was kind of insulting though. Just daring us to try to throw someone out trying to steal.
  3. When TF do you switch Bregman and Pena? How long do you keep it like it is before making a move? What's the logic here? I'll hang up and listen.
  4. I've watched most or part of just about every game this season. I've also looked at the stats. My point wasn't that the offense has been great or that the team has zero offensive issues; my point was that if you are looking for why our record is so bad it has mostly to do with pitching. And, further, that the pitching has been so bad mostly due to two factors: injuries and guys who are supposed to be really good, not being really good. In other words, the pitching stuff should correct in the long run and if that happens we can win a lot of games even if the offense stays basically the same.
  5. Offense has not been the problem; pitching has been the problem. Our best, what, 6 or 7 starting pitchers have been hurt. The starters we have used have been shitty. France and Brown have been unexpectedly shitty. The back end of our rotation has been REALLY unexpectedly shitty. Abreu, Pressly and Hader were supposed to be the strength of the team. We have a giant hole at first base, offensively and defensively, but this team could weather that and have a much, much better record. The pitching has just been very bad. We get our starters back from injuries and if the back end guys haven't all just turned to complete shit never to return, then we should be in the playoff hunt.
  6. I have owned my own business for almost 10 years and I am financially secure. I could never go back. Feels pretty good to be able to do this if necessary:
  7. My oldest son was riding in the car with me and I made a hard right turn after swinging wide to avoid hitting a curb. My son said, "Mom always hits the curb when she makes a turn like that." Me: "I know. It's a chick thing." Him: "Girls hit curbs?" Me: "Yeah, it's like a thing."
  8. I have no tolerance for this kind of shit. If I was that cashier I would have told that dude to GTFO.
  9. That missed fly ball is egregious.
  10. How about, "stupidity?" When MTG and Matt fucking Gaetz are running things in your political party, you know shit is borked.
  11. I bet she is a dirty, dirty little bird.
  12. Wretched hive of scum and villainy. I never liked 6th much when I was in my 20's. Now I can't think of any place I'd rather not be more than there.
  13. I'm not panicking, but not liking what I've seen so far in '24. No one could have foreseen that Abreu would turn into a pumpkin. He's been absolutely terrible. Also could not have foreseen all of the injuries to SP. We need to plug the hole at 1B and get our guys back and we'll be fine.
  14. I mentioned the Killer Bees show.
  15. Easy. 150 million years ago to see some fucking dinosaurs.
  16. I took her home, yadda, yadda, yadda, I went back to Flamingo Cantina to finish the show.
  17. This is a true story. I had a friend (female) who had a roommate. The roommate was kind of awkward, had had bad luck with boys and my friend thought it would be a good idea to set us up on a blind date. I agreed. I went to pick her up. We went to Shady Grove. I ordered a drink and she hesitated and acted weird about getting an alcoholic drink. I think she thought I was going to try to get her drunk and date rape her or something. I eventually told her we could share my drink and she agreed. The next stop was the Flamingo Cantina where the Killer Bees were playing. On the drive there I broke out a spliff and asked her if she was okay with it and if she wanted to smoke it with me. She agreed and we smoked it together on the way there. We parked, went in the club, got a couple of beers and went up on the second floor to find a good vantage point before the show started. About ten minutes later, after not really finding a suitable spot, I asked her if she wanted to go back downstairs to get closer to the stage. She said, "I can't." I said, "What do you mean you can't?" She said, "I can't see." I said, "What do you mean I can't see?" She said, "I'm blind. I can't see anything." I wasn't sure if she really couldn't see or why, but what I did know is that we needed to get the fuck out of there and I needed to take her home as soon as possible. So I told her that I was going to sit her down in a chair and go pull my truck up to the door and come get her and take her home. As I was trying to carry/lift her up to put her in the chair, this dude standing nearby smiled broadly and said, "Ha! She's pretty fucked up, huh?" I replied, "Yeah, man. More than you know." I went and got the truck and came back and carefully walked her down the stairs, loaded her in the passenger seat and took her home. I told my friend not to do me any more favors. tl/dr: My blind date actually went blind during our date.
  18. Well, all of this is absolutely shocking to me. Shocking, I say.
