  1. I mean if no high growth pre-profitable company could get bank debt we’d be in a really boring fucking place right now innovation-wise
  2. This. And it's why things got a little scary when the other players in the market like Bridge, Signature, and PacWest (who acquired Square1) started taking shrapnel . These banks have found a way to help the high growth/pre-profit tech companies as they try to hit exit velocity. JPM, Wells Fargo, Citi, etc do not ever lend to these companies. They should, but they don't. They all have dudes running around the Valley and Austin saying they are trying to connect to emerging companies, but they just want the founders for their wealth management teams and then the exit work. It's really important to the venture backed model that things stabilize and these other banks, who were all inferior to SVB in market share, come out of this still able to lend to Series A and B companies that are pre positive EBITDA. And I agree Thiel deserves scrutiny. I am not a bankruptcy attorney or any kind of litigator, but if there is any potential claim against the VCs that initially started this run, I hope it's made. Would love to see the emails from Thursday morning come out in discovery. I am doubtful, though.
  3. Same. SVB has had its issues in the past. They kinda flubbed PPP for instance. But they’ve stood behind and been flexible with distressed borrowers in the past. They are a predictable, reliable, and reasonable lender in the venture space all the way up to LBOs. That certain influential VCs stabbed them in the back like this, and that is what happened, is fucking devastating and those same VCs have had their portfolio saved by SVB over and over again.
  4. What a shit show of a day. Something needs to happen quickly or the panic is going to infect PacWest, Bridge and Signature. Things are fucking nutso.
  5. Sorry. Unfortunately work got in the way and couldn’t free up in time to catch the tube over. Ended up at a Chelsea watch party.
  6. In London tomorrow night. How hard is it to get back to Mayfair from Dagenham after the game?
  7. So my guess is DJTJ never puts him in a public place without sycophants but if he were to be in a press conference would love to see some plant from John Oliver or some other show ask “Tell me, Don, because the public wants to know, since you’ve been with Guilfoyle, what is the oldest and richest GOP donor dick that she’s sucked and is that person the same person? And follow up…. Did you watch?”
  8. So Kelce was prett fricking good. The American Doll sketch had me rolling. Still working through skits this morning.

Keller didn’t make the bench. Was this Teen Wolff’s first full 90? If Ring is a real CDM I like having him, Perreira and Wolff on field together along with Kolmanic and Gallagher. Seems super small though. Liking 15 so far. Would like to see more of the dude that came in late to see if he is value add.

We lead the league in frosted tips, huh?

Ring at CB. Don’t hate it. Urruti is better than Zardes though. Jeez.
  12. Bad joke based on a misspelling. Apologies.
  13. He was wreckless. The other car… not so much.
  14. I got all of the way through Our Idiot Brother thinking it was Parker Posey and not Elizabeth Banks.
  15. I preface this with I have never played the game But I find it interesting that they’ve made clear that Ellie never knew her parents She was born, what; 5 or 6 years into the apocalypse? Might she be some kid of test tube baby experiment to defeat the infection? I think I’d find that quite stupid but they have also avoided her real origin story. Hopefully it’s not as deux ex machina as that One thing The Walking Dead did get right is totally avoiding the “why” part Hopefully this show does the same
  16. I am not close enough to Hollywood to fully have grokked it in real time, but apparently ep 8 was a hit job on Kathy Kennedy, who fired Rian off the Star Wars stuff.

I thought Stuver could have done better on goal 3 but he was probably gobsmacked that Kip let the dude get by. So long as Kip is on Austin FC II (or just not on field) I’ll shrug this off a bit as a fluke. The howler alone is a long term benching. Follow that with the third goal mistake and that’s a demotion. Zardes showed us in game one what he is and I hope to see more Urruti, as he gets how to play with Driussi and Fagundez. I wonder if we will miss Moose. I like Zardes coming in late in games in summer to run at tired defenders, though. Was less concerned with Rigoni as others. He had one instance when he dribbled down the 18 yard line in first half that was super annoying because he had 3 chances to fire one with his left foot. But I’ll give it time. Seems weird to me that Driussi is captain as well and wonder if that was part of his deal. And what does Ring think about it? Speaking of Ring, as much as I like him, wasting a DP slot on him was a mistake. Lots of guys on roster I am not familiar with. Hope to see some of them next week.

Super psyched for tonight. My season ticket liaison hooked us up to have my kiddo be a player escort for national anthem. First game in season ticket seats. Hope for some fun neighbors. Listos!
  19. I think there is a possibility Top Gun wins best picture. Just a feeling give ranked voting. Everything is awesome and my choice. But old people don’t get it. Banshees is also awesome but I don’t feel it getting best picture. Tar is an amazing performance buried in a pretentious film. I really like Triangle of Sadness but it’s not winning. Alls Quiet won by being nominated. Avatar gets it on III if it is solid like Lord of the Rings.

Right. He’s the dude Jake warned his wife about - the guy that charms you. But fat T-1000 jumped the gun and hired him before she could object. And lo and behold he’s a spy.
  21. I was watching The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent on plane this morning. Haven't finished it yet, but he is quite funny in this and stands up to Nic Cage in the self-aware overacting category. It has been funny thus far, but I think I am predicting the ending and will have disappoint.

Didn’t want to out myself, but yeah… I presume there is a dude or two from the twenties (1920s) that Spencer is loosely based on given he is quasi-famous in the world of this show. Anyone have thoughts on that?
  23. Loved this show. You could see the Peaky Blinders genes but felt very different which was good. Based on my reading up on the history, outside the French spy it seems extremely historically accurate for something like this.
  24. I like Shrinking. Ted Lasso, Scrubs and Cougar Town don’t have realistic dialogue/characters either but they are all fun. It’s like people forgot who created this show The dude that plays Sean is great. Agree Christa Miller is giving off Jason Stoltz Mask vibes…. Or maybe Richard Kiel? I dunno. She looks weird.
