  1. I used to own the single shot Sharps 1874 “Texas Ranger” carbine. It came from Cimmaron Arms in Fredericksburg (Texas Jack’s) old western clothing/gun store. I should never traded in, because I rarely used it and didn’t reload .45-70 $$$ rounds. Hook’em!!!
  2. Ban Bammer coming soon for that aggy! Hook’em!!!
  3. After driving through B-Ham and spending the night there on our way to Gatlinburg, wife liked that NE area of Alabama enough that she said she could retire there. Hook’em!!!
  4. Not to be a smart ass, but yes is your answer. if I was to go watch the the SEC BB tournament for its entirement, it wouldn’t be a struggle for places to go/eat. Hookem!!!
  5. Which ever aggy posted about UT’s baseball history is about to receive the ban hammer. Can’t have that shit on Texags! Hook’em!!!
  6. Hoover isn’t bad. Kind of like Round Rock, PVille, and G Town to Austin. Easy in and out in the B-Ham airport too, but it’s been at least four years for me. When I “worked” the B-Ham area in my previous position, I’d stay in Hoover. Just saying, from a dozen years of going to that area. Hook’em!!!
  7. We statistically had the “lowest” schedule, because we played at aggy! We couldn’t play against ourselves. Hook’em!!!
  8. I’ve spent a dozen nights over the years in Hoover, which is just South of Birmingham. They have many hotels along the main road South of town, near the stadium. There’s multiple restaurants and a mall across the interstate from all of those chain hotels. Nice golf courses in the area too, if you have the time. Part of the Robert Trent Jones Trail for a Southern golf experience. I’m old but the RTJ Trail used to go from Louisiana to the panhandle of Florida. I’ve played a 1/3 to 1/2 of them. Hook’em!!!
  9. I really want one in .45-70 - just because I want one. Love lever actions. Hook’em!!!
  10. Army Brat - you’re going to have to buy another safe for storage. At least you famously unload some inventory each holiday season for the family. Do you need an extra family member? Hook’em!!!
  11. Plus Korea took over both China and Russia. Hook’em!!!
  12. Canada shrunk and India is an island? Artist’s free lance work of their own opinion? The graphic in the bar/restaurant is nice though, just saying, as North America is known worldwide for both Texas and New York. Hook’em!!!
  13. Next is soccer/football? Next Mens sports to compete with the East Coast schools. I really think Lacrosse is growing within the larger schools (5-6A), similar to Water Polo and Texas will eventually have to host/create teams in those two Olympic Sports. Can have a Ladies side two - Title 9, for what control it still has. Hook’em!!!
  14. Late 60-mid 70s TV was full of that shit. With only 3-4 channel options, one couldn’t avoid it! I remember as a child watching MofOhmaha Wild Kingdom and Tarzan, prior to the evening line up on Sunday. 60 minutes sprinkled in too, as it was at least “news” to the parents. Hook’em!!!
  15. No - definitely not. Ford needs to increase capacity on the west side or the other EZ by at least 10K in order to keep up with their new conference ties and OOC obligations. I know they hosted FSU last year, but LSU is a different animal. 35K capacity would never host aggy or UT today. Hook’em!!!
  16. Both OU sucks and arky’s roster has been >50% Texans going back to the early 60s. They both just don’t have the recruiting base/population to base their recruiting in their home states. I think roughly 50% of arky’s current student body is from the D/FW metro area. If I remember right, over a decade ago arky waived out of state tuition for Texas students. Hook’em!!!
  17. I work with an OU donor, one of my bigger bosses, who is a “Bud Wilkinson” donor, with his name in the program of the last time OU was “home” in the RRR. He has seats in a corporate suite for each game in Norman and has basically told me he’s tapped out, beyond the season tickets/suite basis, until the next year or two pans out. Hook’em!!!
  18. Yes - unless they actually get some corporate sponsorship (P66) and or Pilot/Flying J, they’ll be left in the dust. The individual donors, similar to aggy, are tapped out. The requirement of a consistent NIL corporate cash flow is beyond them. Similar to Bama and LSU, as that why they’re crying for NIL “guardrails.” Hook’em!!!
  19. Went North of Phx/Scottsdale to see the Rangers and Royals for a day. For a Texan, I was glad I brought a windbreaker, as once it got shady, the temps dropped. Not SF cool, but glad I brought more than T-shirts/shorts, and flip flops! Hook’em!!!
  20. Fat boy in red is masking/covering the guy on the stool in front. Hook’em!!!
  21. You wouldn’t want to be in the Red Sea on the USS Truman right now. Two jets lost in the drink during the last two weeks alone. Totally different accidents, but none the less millions went under water, with no lives lost. Hook’em!!!
  22. Spring training week I spent in Phoenix/Scottsdale was one of my most favorite week of vacation spent in my adulthood. Wife and kids didn’t appreciate it as much, but I fed them dinner at area restaurants and the kids got to swim at the hotel, while I watched baseball. They did join me for over 50% of the time, but “practice” baseball got old on them after about 3 days and let me go by myself. Hook’em!!!
  23. Kenny D has a good thing going there at ASU. The Phoenix/Scottsdale area needs to support that resurrecting program. Hot as a MFer at night in September, but a beautiful place when it cools down. Hook’em!!!
