  1. Yeah. I'm probably using the wrong terminology. I heard fiberoptic cable at some point. That's my reference.
  2. It's the Frontier router. One of the things they wanted me to check was the speed of my desktop with the fiber cable directly connected (as opposed to through the router). So, slow speeds via the router and slow speeds bypassing the router.
  3. I know. In the famous words of Wayne Campbell, "Get the net!". I do have the net, but I've purchased the college football mags since I was a child in '88. It's tradition at this point. Lindy's and Athlon's are out. They both have Texas #1 and really, really like Arch. I've barely opened them, but a couple of quick observations. 1. Lindy's has a dumbass list of top 15 conference games. TX v GA is 2nd after PSU/Ohio St. I'm fine with that. What is annoying is that that's there's only 4 SEC matchups on the list. Apparently, Tulane v. Memphis is a bigger deal than TX/aggy, TX/OU, or TX/FL. Lame. 2. I'm as big a sunshine pumper as any on here, but Athlon's may have outdone me. This is their list of national unit rankings: QB - TX 1st WR - TX 6th RB - TX 3rd OL - TX 8th DL - TX 1st LB - TX 1st DB TX 1st I mean, I love my school as much as the next guy, but good Lord, if that was to verify, this team would be better than 2001 Miami, 2004 USC, and 2005 Texas combined. Exaggeration, but I think you get my point. FWIW, these two mags are preseason to me. Phil Steele and, especially, Texas Football are my favs.
  4. Long story short, I switched from Spectrum to Frontier on Friday. In my neighborhood, Spectrum kept dropping service. Anyway, I've been on chat or on the phone for at least 7 hours since Friday. The help desk in India probably thinks I'm batshit crazy at this point. I think the assistance they've provided has been utterly useless. I had 500 MBPS with Spectrum. The Frontier plan is supposed to be 1 gig. When Spectrum worked, I NEVER had an issue with lagging internet/video. Since Friday, watching tv has been a nightmare. For example, I timed clicking on an HBO Max movie to actual video at 47 seconds. IOW, I got the spinny/loading icon for 47 seconds after pressing play. Frontier is all... 1. Put your router in a centralized spot. The router is in the exact same spot as where the Spectrum router was. 2. Perhaps there are obstacles. Nope. Same spot PLUS I added an extender over the weekend for the devices upstairs. The exact same TVs that are lagging now worked just fine under Spectrum WITHOUT the extender. 3. Maybe you have too many devices connected. Nope. Same devices; nothing new. 4. "On our end, we're showing close to 1,000 MBPS being delivered." Running tests on OOKLA and another app, I'm getting anywhere from 15 to 85MBPS. I plugged the fiber cable directly into one of my desktops, and it ran slowly as well. So, I don't think it's the router but I can't convince them it's the cable because, according to their remote tests, I'm getting proper service. I'm not sure where to go from here. I'm trying not to turn into a Karen, but good gosh this is frustrating.
  5. When my aggy cousin died in 2016, my daughter and I drove down for the funeral. It was aggy themed. At the end of the service, they played the aggy war hymn, at which time his younger (adult) sister yelled across the room, "That's for you knoxtnhorn!". Ironically, that was the 2nd most awkward moment of the funeral. The first being when one of his daughters cussed out his most recent wife directly in front of the casket. By "cussed out" I mean screaming at the top of her lungs, "You effing bitch. F you!". Good times.
  6. It's funny because, without the prospects of a new baseball coach, aggy can't fall back to the "this is the guy that's going to bring championships to the lit station". However, by the time January comes around, they'll convince themselves that Earley just needed a year to adjust, and they'll be winning it all in 2026.
  7. I moved to TN on a whim after I left The 40. I think my username goes all the way back to the Austin 360 site.
  8. Because I want all the croots. I had to bitch about somebody.
  9. Uniform says Longhorns; not Rangers. C'mon boys! Actually, the uniform does not have the word "Longhorns" on it, but you get the idea.
  10. Nice call less than 24 hours ago, Jerry.
  11. 6th inning. 2 hits v a guy with a 5.6 ERA.
  12. Thank you. My biggest pet peeve of this show as well.
  13. Why couldn't they have sent Trish's daughter instead? Also, it appeared as if Trish was picking up bundles of flaming grass and moving them forward. Seems somewhat against the rules. And, I don't like the stealing aspect of the game. If those with tools aren't allowed to share them, then why is stealing ok? If stealing is ok, then beating that person's ass should be ok as well.
  14. Night before I left for the 40, I decided to hit up this chick that lived on my street. Total ditz that was painful to listen to, but she always let me play with her tits. So, I head over about 11PM and knock on her window. Dad shows up on the front porch asking me what I was doing. Apparently, I knocked on her sister's window. /didn't get to touch boobies
  15. Finally got around to watching it. End of school + son's film festival and graduation. I take back what I said about Kyle. He's a cool dude, and I'm glad he won. Eva was far more well-spoken than I thought she'd be. I thought nerves would get the best of her. I too was laughing when Eva and Kyle revealed their true professions. Another good few minutes (fire making practice) of humans caring for other humans. And complete LOL at David putting on a show. I'm guessing his scowl was pointed out during his first tribal as a voter, and someone told him to run with it. I'd bet feelings get a lot better once one is fed, bathed, and well rested.
  16. Well crap. We stopped there on the way to Disney a few years ago. I'm 100% positive our waitress was on meth
  17. Dammit. I knew if I cleared on this thread - and read a few posts - I'd start up the series for about the 10th time.
  18. Geez. I was wondering what they were talking about on The Fan today. That's pretty bad.
  19. Yes! I finally have something to add to this thread. Son's high school graduation (Garland High). Superintendent is giving his speech. Just press play.
  20. It blows my mind that the Rangers are running out a 2nd baseman and DH with sub .170 BAs. I get the offense is down; some are having bad years. But, a DH and 2nd spot shouldn't be that difficult to get someone serviceable. /kind of drunk; rant may not make sense
  21. Valid. But Murray's schtick was all, "How is Arch any good if he couldn't replace Ewers last year?". The answer is far more nuanced than that. His take was clickbait-lazy
  22. I checked On 3 this morning for some recruiting info only to find Aaron Murray and Tommy Tuberville being little cunts. Murray is not sold on Arch because he didn't start last year. Low info hot take Tuberville was whining, specifically, about TX' NIL advantage. Whiny bitch didn't complain when Auburn was buying players or have issues with abandoning Tech recruits in the middle of a meal. Cocksuckers
