  1. For fuck’s sake stop thinking about our first aggy game being in College Station. We played both aggy and Arkansas at their places last time. Both are likely to be tagged as our rivals along with OU. So with OU in Dallas we’ll get 1 of aggy or Arkansas at home and the other away each year, so we’ll play 2 in a row at either at aggy or Arkansas when we join the SEC. If aggy wants to pump their chest about it and claim victory…let them, it’s fucking meaningless. We’ll also play at LSU first and likely get Alabama back in DKR first too.
  2. Michigan and Georgia are in 100% USC is 100% in with a win, and 100% out with a loss TCU is 100% in with a win OR most likely in with a USC loss, a loss to K State AND a USC win and they are replaced by Ohio State. I don’t see anyone else breaking into the playoffs outside of the top 4 and Ohio State. A 2 loss team hasn’t cracked the playoff yet and I don’t see it happening for the first time this year.
  3. First I believe this rumor about as far as I have I believe anything put out by the Dude of WV. Second, I agree with you, but devil’s advocate, Clemson/FSU are already in SEC states, and UNC/UVA are SEC adjacent. The “Bible Belt” map would basically would align with the proposed SEC. Doesn’t look like a bad setup to me. Big Ten with Rutgers/Maryland and Nebraska was a stretch. Adding USC/UCLA was logical profit driven insanity but many assumed it was step one in a gradual Westward expansion plan. Grab all 9 of the AAU PAC12 schools and Kansas to go to 24 split into divisions…but if they add in FSU/Miami then they are soulless NFL lite. Adding two adjacent states to the SEC isn’t going to change the fact that the SEC is logistically regional and the Big Ten is stupidly national.
  4. Scratch offs. Then put the winnings all on 17 black.
  5. I haven’t been following closely, but I thought Turkey was the hold up.
  6. Mostly it’s because the A&M system is primarily designed to benefit College Station. If there is anything noteworthy about a campus aggy immediately starts working on how they can move it under the main campus. They invest very little in their other campuses because they don’t value them. They are simply there to funnel status, money, and ideas to CS. The best thing to happen to the TAMU system schools is UTSA and UTRGV starting football. Thanks to aggy’s constant inferiority complex with all things UT they decided to start investing in a few A&M system schools moving up to higher divisions so at least some funds are trickling down.
  7. I got a pair of ticket for tomorrow if anyone wants them. edit: gone
  8. Yes, FIFA had them clear out the really poor immigrant “workers” a few months back.
  9. I’m confused, why did they cancel the bonfire? It’s big stack of logs. What ever they have just light it on fire and keep people back far enough to be safe. Honestly puzzled here.
  10. All fair points. I don’t disagree with adding in polls but the method I use is fairly straightforward/simplistic and covers most of what are universally recognized. I was going just off modern titles and all time wins. To be in the blue blood and near blue blood conversation you need at least 2 titles since 1945 (end of WWII and also the last title won by Army often seen as the start of the modern era). The blue bloods and near blue bloods I listed are all the ones with 2+ titles after 1945 only omitting Michigan State who has two in 1952 & 1965 but lack of recent titles and the sizable gap between their 720 wins and the majority of the blue/near blue bloods in the 800/900+ club.
  11. Oregon needs to rack up a bunch more wins and titles before they get that much respect. Historically speaking they are pretty low on the list and the last 15-20 years don’t erase all that. Utah outranks them. Washington is close, top 20 all time wins and a title in the modern era. If they got a 2nd one they’d be in the near blue blood group. As it is UW is hanging out in the 3rd tier with aggy, WVU, Virginia Tech, Michigan St, Arkansas, Colorado, Minnesota, Syracuse, Georgia Tech, and Pitt
  12. 8 blue bloods: Michigan, Ohio State, Notre Dame, Alabama, Texas, Oklahoma, USC, and Nebraska (historically speaking but falling fast) The near blue blood status: Penn St, Tennessee, LSU, Georgia, Auburn, Clemson, Florida, Miami, Florida State
  13. 3 - Texas, Oklahoma, and Alabama In other news… K State has officially trapped Kansas in the Big 12. https://m.kusports.com/news/2022/nov/16/regents-approve-policy-will-require-ku-other-state/
  14. Automation is coming. McDonalds is considering going cashless to limit risk and reduce staff by about 25% and that just using preexisting technology (cards/contactless payments, mobile app/customer kiosks). I don’t see population decline as a bad thing. If you’re concerned about global warming decreasing population and increasing automation and efficiencies is a great thing for humanity. Lowering our need to water, food, energy and housing would all be great things if social security and defense spending weren’t hanging over our heads.
  15. He missed on 5, #5 should be #2. But other than that this is a disgusting group.
  16. Between the arrest, transportation, booking, and paperwork, they can spend nearly half their shift on a single homeless, and the next day they are right back out on the street with no bond and all charges dropped because the DA just lets them go. APD sucks in many MANY ways but this is one of those that I can’t blame them for.
  17. My dogs died a few years ago, both suddenly. We’ve been doing some remodeling so haven’t pulled the trigger on a new one yet but it’s getting closer. I convinced the wife to go to the Town Lake animal shelter and see what they have and try to talk her into a rescue over a puppy. We looked at a bunch of dogs and had to give the workers there a list who basically told us none of them would be good with kids, most had a history of biting, a more than I expected had medical issues that would require extra care (not just simply missing an eye or leg type of deal) and TONS of pit bull or pit bull mixed breeds. They said they have some in foster care we could look at but the experience pretty much cemented in the wife’s mind the we’re getting a puppy. I generally supported the idea of a no kill shelter, but in practice the Town Lake shelter looks have have gone way downhill from what I remember over a decade ago. Some dogs have been in their for years. It just seems like a very poor quality of life for the animals, and lots of expenses and resources that don’t seem to be wisely used. Maybe this should go on the unpopular opinions theads…
  18. Daughter actually came down with Flu A so I’ll be going to the game. Bet has already been placed.

  20. Correctly? How does anyone fuck it up? Its just cream of mushroom soup, green beans, and French’s onion. Add water or milk to thin to right texture then season, mix, and bake for about 30 minutes. Cover the top within the remaining onion when it’s almost done.
