  1. Karnack ISD had one very similar to this in the early "80s. One year our freshman baseball team played their varsity team. Karnack did not have their own field so we played at the Longhorn Ammunition Plant's baseball field inside the secure area. All they had was a backstop and benches. The field of play was where they mowed. They would not let personal vehicles inside the facility so what few fans that were there had to walk in and the two teams took this bus looking vehicle in.
  2. I would start with “stupid” people.
  3. This. I read BOL in the early ‘90s. Still have the books. Most definitely a reread for me now that I have a broader knowledge of WW2.
  4. He fucked around and got a triple double. Today was a good day I am too humble to mention such things. I assumed that it was implied as such.
  5. Functional if not fancy. We are moving into a new corporate office in 3 weeks. We will pretty much have to check our shoes at the door in the new "state-of-the-art" facility. We will all now have 6x8 cubicles to promote "collaboration". Not a fan particularly since I have had an office with a window and door for about 30 years now.
  6. This is the coffee maker where I work. Without fail people will leave less than one cup of coffee in the pot, often time less than a cup in both pots combined. So if you want a cup then you have to finish off what is there and then wait for another pot to make. It is not hard to make coffee. If you are depleting the volume in a pot to less than a cup, then simply remove the old grounds and filter and replace it before you walk away. No need to add water since it is hard plumbed in. The coffee can brew unattended and be ready for the next person.
  7. I willl be 58 this summer. There is a group of us that play full-court basketball 3 days a week during our lunch "hour" at a local gym. When I am in town and not on a business trip I try to play. The age range is late 20s through early 60s. Yesterday a youngster in his early 30s played with us for the first time. As I am standing up from putting my shoes on both of my knees makes this horrible popping, grinding sound. Without words he turns to me with this WTF look on his face. I say, "Yes, that was my knees. You will be there one day. Getting old sucks."
  8. How did the aerial gunners not shoot down the other bombers? The way that they were swinging their guns around it is unlikely that they were paying attention to what was beyond their immediate targets.
  9. I get what aggy is trying to do. In no way, if seeing this hat in the wild, would I associate it with aggy. Plus, what are they doing to the “T” with the slight angles on the accents? Stupid and ugly. Looks like a knock off high school hat where they are changing the logo just enough to avoid copyright laws.
  10. I am hoping to make it up that way and also to Craters of the Moon sometime between now and the end of June. Just trying to carve out some time to do so. If not then, I may have to push it to October.
  11. TAGS is a great show with many of the episodes having some sort of ending message. Barney is a great character. I also have kudos for the Beverly Hillbillies. The writing is fantastic on how they subtly say things a bit edgy or racy without overtly saying it. Some of the episodes could not be made today.
  12. I approve this message. -A Texas Longhorn fan and alumnus
  13. We have electronic message boards throughout our facility with various information scrolling like a slide show. Every month the company displays the names of the individuals that are celebrating work anniversaries or are having birthdays in the given month. There are quite a few people that work here that goes by their middle name and not their first name. The message board only displays their first and last name. Without fail, each month there are multiple people on the board that has their first name listed but not the name that they commonly go by. I get it if the employee has worked here less than 3 to 5 years but some of the people up there are 20 to 40 plus year employees. How hard is it to actually personalize the message?
  14. I have been to over 30 different countries. The only countries that I feel confident driving In consistently is the UK and Australia. China and India are a hard “no”.
  15. We all saw Bijan's attempt at drawing the Falcon logo. Did anyone think a shoe design would be any different? Good thing he is good great at football.
  16. I watched it. I enjoyed it for the most part. I have not read the book nor did I know anything about this occuring. So, with that, it kept my "interest" eventhough I had a pretty good idea as to how it was going to turn out once I got into it. I suppose the "enjoyment" that I got from it was that I learned a bit more about the crooked past on how the Native Americans were treated and taken advantage of. I was not impressed by Leonardo's facial expression throughout the movie with the severe underbite. I found it distracting and a bit comical. Secondly, perhaps shame on me, but I expected the Osages to not have the type of accent that they had in the movie particularly since it was still so early in the last century that this took place. I would have liked a scene where the Osages took matters into their own hands. Also curious to know if any of the Osages have continued to be able to keep their wealth from that time period. Will have to check into that. It is not a movie that I would take time to watch again but glad that I watched it to learn something new.
  17. I too, have suffered with sweats with just one back pocket. I am left handed so often times the single back pocket is on the wrong side.
  18. No one getting arrested in Austin anymore or did their mugs finally break the camera?
  19. It took about 7 hours or so before it hit me. I was miserable for about 10 to 12 hours. Once the fever broke I was perfectly normal. The booster did not bother me at all.
  20. Not sure that you are in the minority but if you have kids it is important to do a walk around because they may leave stuff out too.
  21. It doesn’t matter. If words came out of her mouth then you are responsible regardless to whom they were directed to.
  22. True. But I grew up in a small town and there was a certain level of what was assumed to be acceptable. We were all a bit naive to a certain extent.
  23. 1984 HS grad here. No one mentioning Footloose?
