Game Week Thread 2024 Playoffs Round 1: Clemson at Texas

the key takeaway from those comments is at the very end "you're basing this opinion on something Texas hasn't done instead of looking at what they have done" so.... we lost all the games we didn't play where have we heard that before? in other words, the aggy false-equivalency excuse engine has generated a postulate that like a virus easily jumps across fan populations, migrates upward in their $9.95 ecosystems, and then gets echochambered by the national media.... and here we are it's almost a given that if we win it all the rest of college football will try to asterisk the hardware and if we lose at any point along the way it will be "see told you so" so, i guess..... advantage: aggy -

well spoken kid no bulletin board material lots of "happy to be there" but no rat poison, either no comments about connor real value was in 1 of the comments and it's replies: +++ @GeraldMothershed 3 days ago According to the Sagarin data, Texas played the 20th toughest schedule in the nation (harder than five other SEC programs). Texas was 4-2 against top 30 teams. Clemson played the 51st toughest schedule and finished 1-3 against top 30 teams. I only mention any of this because the two of you used the same argument against Texas, that they haven't played anyone. The data analysis has been done and that narrative is a total myth. Besides, that they didn't play somebody isn't evidence that they are not a great team. Let's give Clemson a fighting chance because Texas does have flaws and Clemson is a talented team. No need to carry forward an untrue narrative. 4 Reply @dallasmustang11 3 days ago Not sure what Sagarin is looking at but Texas got 6 of the bottom 8 sec teams this year. Two of which (Kentucky and Mississippi state) are just horrible football teams. 2 Reply @GeraldMothershed 3 days ago @dallasmustang11 Texas played two losing SEC teams, two winning SEC teams and three teams at .500...... Georgia played three losing SEC teams and no teams at .500 ..... It's a curve, Georgia and others have higher ceilings and lower floors. Texas has less variance. The opponents Texas faced are typically between 6 and 8 win teams. Besides, there are other metrics you'd want to look at, performance against common opponents for example. Texas and Georgia played three of the same teams, Texas outperformed Georgia in all three cases. None of these are definitive by themselves, but together they can serve as useful indicators. Instead repeating that Texas isn't a good team because of who they haven't played you should look at these performance models. Again, there isn't all that much you attack Texas for, so this narrative was born. 1 Reply @dallasmustang11 3 days ago @ nobody is saying Texas is bad because of their weak schedule. But it is a weak sec schedule. To somehow twist getting to play 6 of the bottom 8 sec teams as some incredibly difficult test is just not based in fact. 1 Reply @GeraldMothershed 3 days ago @dallasmustang11 You're not entirely wrong, they did face a slightly below average SEC schedule. The gap isn't nearly as wide as some believe, but there is a gap. The issue really isn't the schedule, it's whether Texas is a good or bad team. People are using the schedule to diminish the great season Texas had, this is what I'm addressing now. There are many accepted metrics you can use to determine if Texas performed well enough against average opponents to warrant calling them a top level team. Texas played consistent ball all season, outscoring their SEC opponents by around 14 points, while also posting nation leading defensive numbers. There are multiple respected data models that gauge performance against competition and they all agree that Texas is performing like a top team should perform. To that end, I believe that the schedule narrative is just something people who want to go after Texas have seized upon, but it isn't reality. The data is pretty clear that Texas is performing very well this season and their schedule isn't nearly as bad as some want to believe. I think it's perfectly ok to just dislike Texas, that's everyone's right. But if you're trying (not you personally) to say they aren't a good team because they didn't play Bama or Ole Miss then A, you're likely holding those schools in too high of regard, and B, you're basing this opinion on something Texas hasn't done instead of looking at what they have done. This is just my view, nothing personal. Whatever we say today doesn't mean nearly as much as the game itself. If Texas is as good as I believe they are, then they'll win. Otherwise, they won't. -
Indiana at Notre Dame Round 1 Playoffs
Hagbard Celine replied to BurntOrange&White's topic in Football
this board and the entirety of core college football fans everywhere are extremely interested in all 4 games and every core fan of any school that is not domer is 100% for iu these teams have played once since 1958 this is the best i could find as to 'reasons' why this game is never played: TheYetiCaptain1993 • 11y ago • They already had one instate rivalry in Purdue (this is actually one of Notre Dames oldest continuous games played believe it or not) They are much closer to Michigan, Michigan State, and Purdue. Adding a 4th big ten school to play when they already had a full slate of major conference games didn't seem that important Indiana has almost always been a very poor football program. They literally used to sell football home games to other teams to fund the basketball program. Notre Dame would have gained nothing by regularly scheduling them Their fans share no animosity or ill will to each other. As others have said, most of the non-college affiliated fans in the state cheer for BOTH Indiana basketball and Notre Dame football -

let's debunk a 'sighting' videos 2 & 3 are of venus as stated this 'sighting' (in the 1st video) began 20 minutes in to a flight from ORD to EWR so these lights were somewhere over southern lake michigan / northern indiana, not jersey the spacing and descent patterns indicate commercial traffic forming up for the landing pattern at ORD which has 8 runways and lands 4 simultaneously are any of the lights 'stationary' and/or 'hovering' it's hard say but my money is this flight took off to the west and circled clockwise to the north and east and what is shown in the video is the east-to-west landing pattern for ORD forming up over southern lake michigan

i'm taking a new position we are experiencing what used to be known as a "UFO flap" which was a series of sightings, sometimes in one location, sometimes across the country so let's now call them UAPs....... this phenomenon predates manned flight as the flap of 1896-1897 was documented in hundreds of newspapers across the county LA 1942 was a single night with a single 'entity' so not technically a flap, just a sighting.... and in that case, a targeting..... the next flap was 1947 throughout the west, beginning with ken arnold and inclusive of the roswell incident and the phoenix photographs in the US the other major flap in history was over DC for 3 weeks in july 1952 of course tens of thousands of sightings have 'been reported' worldwide in the last century but it is not often when they happen en-masse in a relatively confined geo-area most (that we know of) incidents that have been disclosed by military forces around the world including the US Navy happened "by themselves" other major flaps have occurred around the world, but not reported on in the US MSM for obvious reasons +++ other points for consideration: - other than alleged 'abductions' UAPs have never attacked humans..... cattle... different story..... but humans, not so much - UAPs ***RARELY*** 'look the same' from sighting to sighting - why is there an almost infinite variety of shapes, sizes, and colors over the past 130 years? - If we are dealing with a phenomenon that is "technology based" then why do 'them/it/they' want to 'make themselves seen' with the lightshow? - If they don't emit IR or thermal then they are either 1) very special earth-made items or 2) not exactly real, in the sense that we "see" them optically, but we're looking at something that isn't really "there", either a hologram, projection, or trans-dimensional "thing" - No one contemplates the idea that they are from "elsewhen" or "elseother" not "elsewhere" +++ and to drive home the point this shit has been going on for a long time - Ezekiel saw the wheel: Ezekiel 1:15–21 Now as I looked at the living creatures, I saw a wheel on the earth beside the living creatures, one for each of the four of them. As for the appearance of the wheels and their construction: their appearance was like the gleaming of beryl. And the four had the same likeness, their appearance and construction being as it were a wheel within a wheel. When they went, they went in any of their four directions without turning as they went. And their rims were tall and awesome, and the rims of all four were full of eyes all around. And when the living creatures went, the wheels went beside them; and when the living creatures rose from the earth, the wheels rose. Wherever the spirit wanted to go, they went, and the wheels rose along with them, for the spirit of the living creatures was in the wheels. When those went, these went; and when those stood, these stood; and when those rose from the earth, the wheels rose along with them, for the spirit of the living creatures was in the wheels. +++ - Madonna of the Flying Saucer, 1510-1520: In the Hall of Hercules on the 2nd floor of the Palazzo Vecchio in Firenze is a round painting 1 meter in diameter titled Madonna and Child with the Infant St John The author is unknown with proposed attributions to Sebastiano Mainardi (d.1513), Jacopo del Sellaio (d.1493) or Filippo Lippi (d.1469) The painting is dated to "as early as the 16th century" i.e. the 1500s, but if any of the attributions are correct, no later than 1513; the didactic panel next to the painting dates it 1510-1520 there is no wiki for this painting..... you can read up on it for yourself (links below) but the visuals tell the story, if you are willing to allow yourself to see it: https://www.florenceinferno.com/madonna-of-ufo-painting-palazzo-vecchio/ https://www.theflorentine.net/2019/02/11/undentified-florence-objects/ https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Palazzo_Vecchio +++ the battle of nuremburg, 1561 https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1561_celestial_phenomenon_over_Nuremberg +++ in order to contemplate seeing something from another dimension, this video is useful the 4th dimension exists in math but we can't 'replicate' it or 'model it' because we live in 3 dimensions have some carl: +++ i'll post the review of the 1896-1897 flap later
