  1. I love when people use detailed data tables like this to make their wild guesses look more scientific or informed than...well...wild guesses. There is literally almost no information to support that Casey improves our chances of getting to 9 wins over Card. Yes, he's a Jr and Card a freshman, but none of us have seen either play enough to say what they're capable of today. What this article assumes is that Sark is betting on Card as the better long term option despite Casey being a better option today. As far as I can tell, this is based on nothing more than Casey's bowl performance and the fact that he's older. Neither of those means anything in the context of this offense. Time will tell if Card was the right call, but it bugs me that so much is being assumed about the competition between two players who we really haven't seen operate this offense. Sark's expertise is specifically this position. If Card is his bet, I'll trust it until he proves I shouldn't.
  2. The PAC could really use any of their middle teams to step up so Oregon and USC aren't expected to carry everything. Stanford just seems to have leveled off, UW is hard to predict with Petersen and now PK gone, wsu no longer has leach to keep things exciting, so they need someone to keep things interesting. Plus, it would add some real pressure on USC, which would make me laugh since they've decided doubling down on Helton + raiding our staff and transfers was the best route to turning things around.
  3. The only "running" he actually does.
  4. Other than that, Mrs Lincoln, how was the play?
  5. It would be gloriously ironic if all of the political grandstanding done by tech, baylor, and tcu grads in response to us leaving backfired and made all three less attractive to other conferences. I have no idea if there's any truth to that, but in the absence of evidence to the contrary I'm going to go ahead and believe it's accurate.
  6. I wonder if Bowlsby is still waiting on his evite to join the alliance party. Remember when he made sure it was publicly known that he was meeting with the PAC12 commissioner about forming an alliance, and less than a week later rumors of this alliance started to break? aggy definitely showed their ass early on in this, but it will be hard to beat Bowlsby for the crown of biggest loser. So far he's failed to see the writing on the wall that his two biggest brands were shopping around, pissed off ESPN, helped break up what would've been a pretty good offer for some schools who may end up homeless now, and failed to secure an alliance with any of the stable p5 conferences. I had low expectations for him already, but he's really forcing me to recalibrate.
  7. This line stands out, considering the takeaway from our last few practices is that qb and receiver are shaky enough that we should just play a clock control, ground game offense combined with great defense. I'm sure Stewart will be sold if he sees that.
  8. I'm sure there are immature, petty Texas fans who hold a grudge against Meyer for turning us down and want his NFL experiment to crash and burn in embarrassing fashion. I'm sure because I'm one of them. 0-1, looking hapless with your 1st string against the BROWNS second string, and having to cut Tebow to avoid further public ridicule? I'd say we're right on track.
  9. The most surprising part about this is that Jimbo has earned a reputation as a ruthless disciplinarian who won't tolerate off the field issues regardless of the player impacted...
  10. Y'all remember when Herman thought his first year oline was better than the OSU NC oline? I remember...
  11. Sark's track record as both a QB and developer of QBs is pretty damn solid. My guess is that there are parts of this evaluation that only he'll really know/understand, and that whoever he picks will give us our best chance to win. After our last two coaches, I'm far from a "trust the coaches" mindset on most things until they prove it, but specifically with Sark and quarterbacks I think we're in good hands.
  12. The "we know our plays have known tells but we're going to run it right down their throat anyway" attitude explains almost every head scratching thing that Herman did, and why he was fired.
  13. I agree, but feel like the "if" in "if we win games and get NIL going" looms large here. I'm more bullish on the first with this staff, but I think we're going to need to make big strides in both in a short period of time to really raid the portal. Announcing a date on the sec move should help, too.
  14. You know those fake business name generators you can find online? Strawberry rock n roll tequila sounds more like something generated by one of those than something that should actually exist.
  15. No one's going to accuse us of wasting 4 & 5 star talent anymore, I guess, so that's a plus.
  16. I hope by "we're focused on what we're doing now" he means "we're focused on fixing what we're doing now."
  17. You can take the plane out of Ohio, but you can't take the Ohio out of the plane.
  18. PAC taking Baylor and tcu but leaving out tech? That doesn't add up, at all. Tech is actually more geographically aligned and doesn't break their long-standing no religious schools policy. Kansas makes sense, assuming they're heading to the big 10, which just makes too much sense not to happen. If he said only Kansas wasn't joining, ok. But they're actually proposing the PAC 12 is taking Baylor, tcu, and let's not forget Pacific coast West Virginia but not bringing tech along? If it sounds wrong on the surface, it's probably wrong.
  19. So to protest that they won't get the value of playing Texas and OU in the future, they're going to voluntarily choose to lose the value of playing Texas and OU in the present? Even by message board standards, that's some impressive logic.
