  1. I guess I left the other point out: If you are my DD driver and get a delivery here in a timely manner, I should be able to tip you more than some dude that picks up four orders and drops mine off last. It's no longer a tip in my book since it's not tied into the level of service of the driver, but a bribe to get them to consider picking up your order to begin with. And the restaurant staff that got your order together get jack shit from that tip.
  2. Door Dash and Uber Eats et. al.: Why can't we tip after we receive our orders? When we tip servers, it's after the fact at a restaurant, and it's based on their level of service. I feel like the food delivery services, we're paying a bribe to ensure the driver doesn't fuck with our food in transit and that it gets picked up and delivered to begin with.
  3. I can relate. Smoke the kids in a game, then take a hard right at the end and let them win to avoid hearing them melt down because you beat them again.
  4. I winterized it as best I could. Pulled the freeze plugs and let them drain, disconnected the impeller hoses and drained them. Second time I've had to do it the old fashioned way while the motor was not running. At this point, it's like Schrödinger's boat. I can still believe it works as long as I don't know the oil is the forbidden sludge at this point.
  5. Man, I can't wait to take the subway from downtown to South Congress!
  6. 2024 Tapatalk talk not going away.
  7. The ol' Yellow boat club! Gotta get ours to the mechanic and see if it's salvageable. Went to winterize it in the fall, and it was struggling to start. Swapped fuel relays, and she ran for a good minute before stalling out again. Couldn't get it back up and running after that. I'd say there's a 60 percent chance it's garbage gas (pump gas with ethanol in it sitting for a year and change), 20% it's a fuel pump (replaced it 2 years ago with an Amazon pump), and a 5% chance it's a cracked block after a freeze. Did get down to the lake park to fish with the family on Saturday, and the water was pretty nice, but the surfer boats were coming out in force, throwing some 5-6' wakes without anyone in tow. And saw some junker outboard bayboat towing in a fairly nice older direct drive ski boat, and gave me a good laugh. It's the older junkers that are still floating that get the care for sure.
  8. Does the electricity fill the jizz jar quicker?!
  9. At school pickup just now. Blue Tesla parks facing the wrong direction after the white car was parked, hanging into the crosswalk in front of the elementary.
  10. I think JosephStang is pissed because someone stole his cataclysmic converters.
  11. Every time you pick up, and hear a beep, then someone from Bangladesh introduces themselves as Dave or Mike or some other really American name. Then they get mad when you ask for their Indian name... I hate the idea of these. Mary Jo over in Accounting who's been knuckle deep in her left nostril shows up and runs out of coffee, so she uses the booger hook hand to reload the coffee maker?! Yeah, no thanks. The main advantage of the single-serve coffee machines: no nasty hands touching stuff that who knows when it was last cleaned.
  12. Just every other dog...
  13. Once upon a time, an aggy found out he had a penis. Then he noticed a Longhorn had one, too, so aggy cut his dick off to spite the Longhorn. And that, ladies and gents, is how the aggy yell leaders came about.
  14. Starting a philanthropic arm of a company and investing millions if not billions in trying to influence politics at the level he does... Yeah, no thanks. That money would be better spent feeding the hungry, housing the homeless, or aiding natural disasters, not funding Beto's third failed attempt at running for office.
  15. It's the year 3000, and Slorch is STILL arguing Tech's relevance in the left-behind thread.
  16. You watch Oppenheimer one time, and you think you're the world's leading authority on spinning twisting Toroid with a travelling wave. On a side note: I did once get a spinner to twist my toroid after a long night of drinking. Was QUITE the experience, to say the least.
  17. Dude, Soros funded his first go round. Soros has no ties to Austin, it's just a goon throwing around money to get his way. At least the local people donating are donating to affect their LOCAL municipalities. This EXACT mindset is what's going to screw Travis County over for years to come. We'll support someone who's backed by some National Level PAC over a local moderate who's ACTUALLY qualified but has some moderates donating to his or her cause. Then again, Austin masses are freaking idiots and refuse to vote on anything other than a letter after their name or what the Statesman endorses.
  18. Eh, I think they WERE a great story... Found a niche market and went all in on it, all the while you had brands pivoting to milk the space, and on top of that, add in rogue social media marketing that disrupted their brand, and now they're having to take another direction to keep afloat. I for one won't buy anything Yeti unless it's off of wish (bought a cup from there in the original tumbler days), or we win it at a raffle. Too many alternatives that are just as efficient.
  19. F both of those cars. Jeep for parking over the line, Tesla for parking there to begin with. Don't get me started on the plates.
  20. Is this the third or fourth coming of Ray Pugh? When do we learn about the hookers you banged on a street corner while using dirty needles you found at a homeless encampment?
  21. I'm impressed your retirement home doesn't block websites like Surly, honestly.
  22. How dare you besmirch my good name?! You're uninvited to my holiday party this year!
