  1. Jesus. That's horrible. Wow. That little city is in the wrong place.
  2. Jokes aside, (and they are very funny ones) former athletes who get into trouble are sad, indeed. Yes, they may have squandered an opportunity to better themselves, but they make lack guidance and help when they stop producing. Flemlo Raps tells great YouTube sports stories and gives you a perspective we rarely get. His story about what happened to Boobie Miles is worth a watch. The sad part is that Boobie was a hometown hero, and then discarded after he tore his ACL, since sports medicine was much more limited than today. People even made jokes about shooting him, like a lame horse. If you have time to watch, it's quite good.
  3. So happy for him and I hope he has a long and successful career. That said, who else thinks that using your top pick on a running back is a waste in the modern game? The most successful teams in the last 10 seasons have been doing it with mostly serviceable running backs. The Patriots, Chiefs, SB-winning Eagles and Tampa Bay didn’t build their game around a dominant RB. San Francisco and Tennessee have had the most success with a running game and SF has done it by committee. Barkley hasn’t been a game-changer at NY. Curious to hear your thoughts.
  4. 1999? I thought the killer one was 2013. Then they had a bad one a couple of years after that. How many times has that poor town gotten nailed?
  5. I thought the world of him when we got to hang for a football shoot. He was super-nice, smart, approachable, and really happy. (This was the summer he was handed the UT starting role, so yeah, those were good times for him) Thinking back, that was such a surreal day, as I got to hang with Casey, Mica Parsons, Kyle Pitts, & Jordan Love. I can't speak about the negative stuff but it's not uncommon to pump up your new program at the expense of the old one. Heck, last summer, Tyreek Hill solemnly proclaimed that Tua was a better passer than Mahomes, lol. I wish it had worked out better for him at Texas and Nebraska. I wish him success.
  6. I'm sure that must have been a big factor in his choice of Colorado.
  7. I agree with you that I should stop talking about it, as I don't need to repeat the same points again and again why I think Baldwin should have been charged. Everyone knows my views. Take care.
  8. People saying Deion is making a bad mistake by getting rid of really bad players reminds me of Woody Allen's old joke: "The food here is terrible." "Yes, and the portions are so small." At least he is entertaining. And LOL to people complaining about his coaching acumen. Need I remind you of the standard?
  9. I'm realizing now that it would have been better if Petrino was holding their love-child, Billy Liucci. Oh well, so close to greatness.
  10. @DFW Horn @tejas60 Your wish is my command
  11. I've got my views and you have yours. It's all good.
  12. Like everyone here, I have no idea if Colorado will be improved this fall. Regardless, I absolutely love what Coach Prime is doing there. He is an innovative marketer who understands how to leverage his personal brand for recruiting purposes. I'd say getting a fulI stadium for a nationally talked-about spring game at Colorado in five months is a huge win. I wish them success.
  13. I've stated all the reasons many times that I believe he should be charged.
  14. Or maybe I was dropped on my head as an infant. But the beauty today is that you can watch the entire raw footage w/ no analysis, which now gives us views of things we've never previously seen before. The bodycam footage from the Baldwin shooting is truly mind-blowing, as the policeman wanders around and we hear from and observe the affected personalities. The interrogation video of Baldwin is also very revealing.
  15. Well, we're both speaking in circles at this point. I understand the argument people are making here and I respect their opinions. I won't bore you with repeating the other reasons, but it's more than being just about the gun, IMHO.
  16. One of my many vices (along w Surly) are true crime cases that I listen to on YT while I'm working. Chris Watts was a big one, as were the Brian Laundrie, Elizabeth Holmes, SBF and the Alec Baldwin cases. I believe based on the police bodycam footage & interview, and problems on set that came to light, plus the fact that he fired the weapon, he should be charged, as well. True, the armorer is responsible for gun safety, but they overloaded that poor girl who should have never been the armorer in the first place. Now, he's suing her, which looks truly awful. I realize that most everyone here disagrees with me, but hey, this is a discussion group. However, if you want to learn about THE craziest saga of them all, I recommend learning about the Sarah Boone interrogation case on YouTube. She is the Florida woman awaiting trial who somehow talked her poor boyfriend into a suitcase and then went to bed, while he suffocated! She's now up to her 6th lawyer
  17. Well, it is an interesting fact, at least to me. When people change their story after talking to law enforcement, it's usually not a good sign. (I'm looking at you, Alec Murdaugh) Perhaps Baldwin's lawyers thought it would be better if he stated that he had followed proper protocol. Guessing that they probably would have preferred he just STFU, as they usually do.
  18. I just note it cause it seems like a pretty important thing to misremember. When he spoke about it in his police interview, he was not aware that the woman had passed away. The interrogators waited 'til the end of the interview to tell him that she had died.
