  1. Wordle 532 3/6 Absolute slam dunk for Worldle, although guessing neighbors was a little challenging because I forget about those stupid city-states. #Worldle #316 1/6 (100%) https://worldle.teuteuf.fr Daily Quordle 313 quordle.com Now off to Arlington to hopefully watch TCU punch KSU in the mouth and punch its ticket to the CFI.
  2. Good lucky bird on Wordle. Wordle 531 3/6 Not bad on Worldle. #Worldle #315 2/6 (100%) https://worldle.teuteuf.fr Sunk on the common letter pattern in the SE/4 in Quordle. Argh. Daily Quordle 312 quordle.com
  3. List of State of Texas major football teams’ 10+ win seasons: UT: 20 (10 since 2000) TCU: 15 (12 since 2000, not including 2022) UH: 9 (5 since 2000) aggy: 9 (1 since 2000) BU: 6 (3 since 2000) SMU: 6 (1 since 2000) TTU: 5 (1 since 2000) Rice: 3 (2 since 2000) (included because they were respectable back in the older SWC days).
  4. At this point, all of those that you mention as examples are just suburbs of Dallas, Houston, or Austin, all of which are major metro areas. So though each particular municipality has a largish population, they’re all just part of large metro areas. B/CS is not. It’s its own area. I wouldn’t call it small town, but I wouldn’t call it urban either. Kind of generic aggy sprawl more than anything else.
  5. Absolutely idiotic 4th guess cost me the par. My 4th guess isn’t even a word, as far as I know. Wordle 530 5/6 #Worldle #314 3/6 (100%) https://worldle.teuteuf.fr Daily Quordle 311 quordle.com
  6. Wordle’s new editor is ruining Wordle: https://slate.com/technology/2022/11/wordle-editor-ruining-wordle.html
  7. I can’t see that. Given the choice between 12-1 TCU or 11-1 tOSU, tOSU gets the nod 10 times out of 10. They already did in 2014 and they will again this year. It’s not about logic or reasoning. It’s about the brand on the side of the helmet. If it were 12-1 UT or OUsux, those brands would pull them into the CFI. Maybe even OkSU. But not little ol’ TCU.
  8. Thanks. I get that. And it is a good narrative. But in the big picture, it’s not that surprising. TCU’s been good for a long time and isn’t the doormat little ol’ TCU of the 1960s-1990s.
  9. Why is TCU a Cinderella story? They’ve had 3rd best recruiting in the B12 consistently for a decade. Since 2000, they’ve finished ranked 12 times, including 6 top 10 finishes. They’ve played in and won multiple BCS/NY6 bowls. They’ve been projected to lose bigly to big bad teams from the B1G and SECX3, and have won. They don’t have the enrollment or name brand of UT or OUsux, but they’re not exactly little sisters of the poor.
  10. They had some good games against some bad opponents (B1G is dog excrement top to bottom outside of UM and tOSU), no doubt. But they also struggled with Maryland and Northwestern. TCU also destroyed OUsux and ISU, and the B12 overall is a much more difficult schedule than the dog excrement B1G. tOSU, UM, and UGA are better on paper than TCU, no doubt, because of recruiting stars and name brand. But so is UT. That's why they play the games. We'll see.
  11. The way that VY UT was destroyed by the GOAT USC team led by Matt Leinart and Reggie Bush? That was a shoo-in also.
  12. I don't know the payout formula for the B12, but I'm sure one of the geniuses here does. I'm sure that you're right that TCU will receive a participation bonus (higher percentage of the payout), but there has to be additional payout to the other B12 teams too. if TCU doesn't get CFP, it gets Cotton (probable) or Alamo. Cotton is lower payout than CFI, so it's a net loss to the B12 and its payouts. Including UT. If TCU gets dropped to the Alamo (unlikely), then that will be a huge net negative to UT. I think that only applies to the finals. Inclusion in the CFI is a 6 million payout, according to https://businessofcollegesports.com/college-football-playoff-payouts. By that logic, the B12 (including UT and KSU) benefit from TCU winning Saturday and making the CFI. Whether TCU wins the CFI semifinal is immaterial because at that point (your point), there's no benefit to the conference, only to TCU. Feel free to let your roach hate flow at that point. But from a purely Adam Smith, Economic Man perspective, it makes sense for KSU and UT to want TCU to win Saturday.
  13. I just received an email teaching me how to read maps backwards. It was spam.
  14. Receiving money doesn't benefit UT? Explain that please.
  15. At a minimum, B12 teams should be in favor of TCU making the CFI because of the payout. The B12 will receive 6 million if TCU makes the CFI (not sure what the distribution is). KSU should lay down the way Wisky did in 2019 to the Cardale Jones (we didn't come here to play school) tOSU team. KSU gets Sugar either way, and gets more money if they lose because of TCU's CFI inclusion. They should take the Clayton Williams approach.
