  1. Worth at least tree fiddy.
  2. I had all of these except Wham on cassette. Only one? VH. But man, purple rain is more iconic and better musically than the synth-infused 1984.

  6. Speed governors on semis is one of the biggest traffic hazards on the road. Gums up the works, makes people bunch up and get aggressive, contributes to road rage (especially mine) and I’m sure contributes to accidents.
  7. Not to mention open flames next to a gas tank is generally not advisable.

One million percent. It will absolutely address that. It has profoundly changed my life, made it possible for me to lift again, do regular outdoor work (chainsawing, moving heavy stuff, etc.). Heck, I helped my son and daughter-in law unload their U-Haul two weeks ago, something that would have inconceivable 6 months ago.

    Getting old sucks

My dad and his dad passed from Alzheimer’s complications, and one of my uncles has it too. I’ve resigned myself that I’ll have it too if I live long enough. When he had prostate cancer treatment in the early 2000s, my dad filled out a values statement and said that if he ever got Alzheimer’s, he wanted to go out like an Eskimoβ€”just wander out into a blizzard and not come back. Similar sentiment which you are expressing. The last ten years of my dad’s life were intensely sweet and enriching to everyone around him. The love my mother showed him in caring for him was like nothing I could imagine. Young lovers sometimes say β€œI want to grow old with you,” but they don't have the faintest clue what that means. My mother and father lived it, a declining life of devotion to each other. Some of the best memories in my life are slow walks around the block with my shuffling dad in the last year. He wasn’t able to form sentences anymore but it was a period of intense love. He’d stop and look at every airplane and helicopter overhead. We shared that time, that space, and it was a gift. I’m eternally grateful for that season with him. It can be sweet, for you and especially for those around you. Accept it for what it is, and help others to do the same. There are things like diet, exercise (particularly strength training), and mental games (learning and playing music, learning a new language, doing crosswords and sudoku, etc.) that can help slow the decline.
