Texas Recruiting Notes 2025: Duck Around and Find Out
Hermanator replied to texifornia's topic in 🤫$9.95🤫
What does this even mean? That's a garbled mess of nonsense. You really did put thought into your user name, but you gave yourself way too much credit. I'll make it simple for your simple mind... Coach had lot talent this year from Harbaugh Coach play bad with talent. Coach show nothing to say he knows how to build program Billionaire now buy more talent Coach able to find right fit? Or billionaire just buy star ratings? -

That was all under Harbaugh, who is one of the best coaches in the country at evaluation and development at any level of football. Just like Chris Beard was that for us for a couple of years. It's a long shot that Moore is capable of carrying that level forward. Virtually impossible. The best thing Sark and his staff have done is evaluate not only for talent but for fit. Just buying high priced top rated guys at the signing deadline isn't going to work unless you've evaluated and gotten to know all of them and successfully deemed them fits. Does it really seem like Moore has done that here? His ability to do that will decide how successful he can be. I don't think there's any evidence currently to state he has that in him. -

Exactly. Also, it's fucking retarded to assume the team the guy is committed to doesn't know Texas is trying to get him. It's a negotiation. That dude and his representative are going back and forth getting $$$ offers. Just like we are doing with Charles, French, Hilson, Sharma, Fasusi, etc. Anyone who you aren't hearing about right now already played that game before and made their decision, and doesn't care to try to renegotiate now. There's no secret recruitment where a guy is getting a big offer then not going to the team he's committed to with the offer and asking to match or up the ante. -

The good news is their coach looks like he's their Rodney Terry. I don't think he could coach his way out of a paper bag, especially offensively. Could be wrong, but he had enough talent this year to be better than 7-5 or whatever they finished up at, but he was too dumb to go out and get a veteran QB. The portal is going to be what makes or breaks them next year. If they're starting their 10 million dollar guy as a true freshman they're gonna risk breaking him mentally. But you know a football no nothing like Ellison is going to demand he start from day 1 because it makes his paid for whore unhappy if he doesn't. -

Gerry said he's expecting Savea to transfer. Sark will have to go big in the portal. Top end and depth pieces both. Good thing that all we really need in the portal is that position, 1 to 2 WR, and some DB depth -
Missed on the thread title. Should have been "BURNT VEGETABLES"

Nothing. It's ability to buy online, but that is in the theater's best interest as it saves them money from not having to staff multiple ticketing people as well as paper waste from physical tickets. It's just a made up fee to charge you more. It's why I only go to the Cinemark near the house. $11 a month membership in their club gets 1 ticket a month "free", waives those rip off fees, and you get 25 percent off concessions. The free tickets roll over as well. There hasn't been any movies since Twisters in the summer the family wanted to see so those tickets were rolling over for a few months for me. Wife and daughters wanted to go see "Wicked" so I used my credits to take them to the movies for $13. I think our concessions came out to about $24 after the discount, so $37 total on what would have cost $100. Highly recommend it for people with kids who go to the movies several times a year.

Tracking Trump Administration and Cabinet picks
Hermanator replied to PenelopeWitherspoon's topic in Cloak Room
He's following the shit hole dictator role to a tee. You think this piece of shit was a Russian genius war strategist? Under his watch oligarchs plundered Russia's military of resources right from under the nose of Putin for 2 decades. Dictators don't want competent people around them, they want idiots who will do nothing but kiss their ass and tell them what they want to hear. We have no idea what Trump's morons will actually be doing, but what we do know is they will be stealing from us for themselves and telling Trump whatever bullshit he wants to hear. -

FINAL 2024 CFB polls/rankings - Texas #3/ #4 /#3 (CFP/AP/Coaches)
Hermanator replied to TKthunder2's topic in Football
That's the point. Not even 1 Big 12 team can match the talent level of even Aggy. They got raided by the portal and NIL and have zero wins as a conference against any teams that will even be considered for the playoffs outside of SMU, which itself has played nobody. They didn't play Clemson or Miami, the only two teams in the ACC who could be considered able to challenge the top 5 in the Big 10 or SEC. That's why I believe SMU gets handled on Saturday and Clemson goes to the playoff. If Texas hosted a first round playoff game would you feel more confident if they hosted ASU/ISU/SMU or Ole Miss/Alabama/South Carolina? Every Texas fan would want the first 3 because obviously the last 3 are far more talented and better teams. -
FINAL 2024 CFB polls/rankings - Texas #3/ #4 /#3 (CFP/AP/Coaches)
Hermanator replied to TKthunder2's topic in Football
No I'm not at all. I've said the SEC is the best conference because it has the top end teams and even the bottom teams are talented and can rise up and bite you. The big 12 doesn't have any top teams and the entire conference is g5 level talent. Their "top" 2 teams wouldn't place top 5 or 6 in the SEC or Big 10. So what are the rest of the teams? They're a bunch of scrubs teams. It's a basketball conference now. So for the playoffs discussion it's important to note when a team has to play a conference slate of talented teams vs a conference slate of scrubs teams. The best win between ISU and AZ St is Iowa, who only played 1 team that finished in the top 8 in the Big 10 and lost to them by 28 points. It's a garbage conference. -

He's a guard/center prospect? That seems like such a weird flip. To Washington who can't compete on the field or in NIL to challenge in the Big 10? You want to skip out on one of the best OL coaches and OLs of the last few years for that? -

The committee has said the conference title game loss won't count against a team for the playoff. So the committee needs to decide this week which teams are in regardless and which teams need a title game win to be in. Then just adjust for upsets. They really need to keep record of this process then release it to the public after the playoffs are set. Be transparent with your reasoning. -

Hermanator replied to TKthunder2's topic in Football
It'll be nice to see what happens. The counter to that is I think that TCU team was far better than any big 12 team this year. The last 2 years of conference realignment and portal/NIL have really decimated those big 12 and ACC teams from a talent standpoint. I think we'll see the gap got a lot wider in 2 years. There may be a single upset, but I'll be surprised if there's more than that. -
We've gone to the Cinemark XD near our house probably 8 times this year and not a single time has there been anyone talking or being annoying. I can't remember the last time I encountered that. Is that a thing? And holy shit at that Moana 2 number. I didn't know it was such a highly anticipated sequel.

You can't look at a single game then translate it out like that, that's stupid, but you can look at the overall conference and see who did they play? Who did they beat? I'm not saying to keep them out of the playoffs. Put both SMU and Clemson and both ISU and ASU in if you want. Makes our road easier. But top to bottom there's far more talented teams that played far more difficult schedules that lost more games but would beat those teams. I'll be surprised if the playoffs don't expose every non SEC and Big 10 team in the playoff. I hope they seed it so those teams get Big 10 and SEC team matchups in the first 2 rounds and we can see for ourselves. -

Hermanator replied to TKthunder2's topic in Football
I'm fine with it, but neither Clemson or Michigan are legitimately in the 12 best teams in the country. If based on how good they can be when playing right Ole Miss, South Carolina, and Alabama are better teams than Boise, SMU, or Iowa State. Probably better than Indiana as well. They just played schedules that are so much more difficult than those 4 teams that are ranked ahead of them. The disparity in schedule difficulty is insane. The big 12 only played 3 non conference games, and as far as I know Iowa is the best non conference win in the conference. It's the little sisters of the poor beating up on each other then calling the ones that only ended up with 2 losses playoff worthy. -

Hermanator replied to TKthunder2's topic in Football
My point is the only big 12 or ACC team that deserves to be in the playoff is the conference champions, and that's only because they get an auto bid. Those conferences are so bad their conference champion won't be a top 12 team if purely ranking the best teams. Absolutely Florida could have competed for a big 12 title. Colorado did and they got hammered by a shit Nebraska team that didn't even finish in the top half of the Big 10. And the Big 10 only goes 4 deep with teams that could be considered good when compared to the top half of the SEC. -

Hermanator replied to TKthunder2's topic in Football
South Carolina finished 6th in the SEC and would win the Big 12. The big 12 has a lot of teams close to each other so it's competitive, but those teams are all g5 level talent. Arizona St is playing for a big12 title this weekend and they barely beat Mississippi State by 7. At home. Their other non conference wins were over Texas St and Wyoming. The other title game team is ISU who beat Iowa by 1 pt. Iowa finished 5th in the Big 10 but only played 1 team that finished in the top 8 in the Big 10. They lost to Ohio St by 28. Hell we won a better version of the big 12 last year with one of the worst secondaries in the country. Florida might have won the big 12 this year. It's a bunch of low level teams that beat up on each other but no one else of any note. The playoffs will probably expose whoever gets in from the big 12, ACC, and Boise. At least we finally get to see if it happens on the field. -

When money got put on the table this shit got wild. Hard to really follow because you don't know which of your recruits some team is going to decide they want to make a break the bank offer to get. Kind of just waiting until Sunday to see where it all shakes out. I'm guessing we finish with around 26 in the class. Lose a couple, gain 4 or so. -
Prediction thread SEC Title Game- Georgia at Texas
Hermanator replied to Wulaw Horn's topic in Football
Gerry made a good point. It's impossible for Kirby to get his defense anywhere near as jacked and focused for this game as he was able to the first time. Human nature doesn't allow it. Our OL is better now than then. Same with Wisner. We have our identity. Quinn is the big mystery. If the line plays a lot better can he show a little consistency in production? He hasn't put together a full 4 quarters of consistency since game 2 in September. Even against Florida the game was so far out of hand at half he didn't need to do anything in the 2nd half. Beck has played a lot better since mid October. That will be a test for the defense, but our defense has gotten better as well. Toss up game. If we win it we get 3 weeks off before the playoffs. Lose it and it's 2 weeks and possibly the coveted 5 seed. -
