  1. This one's for you @troph. Mrs Landomatic and I spent the day finally getting all our shit moved in to the new boat.
  2. Must depend on the daughter. My step daughter literally picked her school based almost solely on which one her father wanted her to go to, despite her mother's and my wishes. Granted, she has daddy issues and all she's ever wanted from him is the attention she never gets. But that's another story. So, maybe be thankful your daughter's daddy issues aren't as bad as they could be. In most cases, whoever is willing to pay for it has the final say in where the kid goes to school. Don't want your daughter to go to aggy, tell them they can pay for all of it themselves. All the sudden UT and Wisky start looking much better. Outside of a full ride or a court mandated tuition agreement as part of a divorce decree (I'll let you guess which one I fall under), I can't see where this wouldn't be the case. Outside of veterinary medicine, not so much.
  3. Y’all want a great boot, that fits right...try Rod Patrick’s. Great boots and a great guy who runs the place named Bobby. Based in Ft Worth. Every size and skin under the sun. Thank me later.
  4. I have the weber one at my boat slip and it does great. Got the stand for it and a griddle for one side. You probably don't need the griddle if it's for your house (because you'll have a kitchen for that type of cooking), but I wanted the diversity for the slip as it is my only real means of cooking. I can cook just about anything on it. Full disclosure, I'm a huge weber fanboi so they really can't do much wrong in my eyes. And I lived at a condo a few years back that didn't allow any grills on the patios but had some public grills and I confirm with 100% certainty that using the public grills was a giant pain in the balls. Between the trips back and forth and the fact that they didn't cook all that great, I opted to not grill rather than have to use those.

    Dallas | BBQ

Anyone been to Heim in Dallas lately? We were a little disappointed the last couple times we had it...and haven’t heard much since. It also looks pretty dead the few times I’ve driven by.
  6. Well, considering a cab driver in Vegas can get you cocaine, I’m going to assume a casino host can get you pretty much anything you want. It’s Vegas.
  7. So...like, this is pretty much the equivalent of “couldn’t get laid in a whore house with a handful of hundreds” right?
  8. You’re welcome anytime.
  9. Finally got to see my new boat in person yesterday. Have to say, I'm actually more impressed than I thought I'd be. Online pictures really didn't do it justice. The fit and finish is just impeccable everywhere and everything feels huge and well-made and in the right place. Over the moon excited. I guess we're doing this...this whole boating thing.
  10. As someone whose entire livelihood depends on the demise of print, this pleases me. Another print medium bites the dust. ETA: But even I have to admit there is something nostalgically cool about a paper chart. Like the couple old magazines we have on our coffee table in our living room, I may try to find a cool old chart for a decoration for my boat (snarkiness intended).
  11. Not me man, I like to feel like I got a great deal, have a kickass time, then wonder when I get home why I'm a lot poorer than I was when I went, but assume a lot of it went toward hookers and blow, which I can justify. And I find their use of inappropriate language to be offensive.
  12. Have you tried their website? Just stabbing in the dark here, but... https://flockfoods.com/collections/all
  13. Probably a lose/lose (or a wash - depending how you want to look at it) in the long run for them honestly. They're making up for those fees somewhere. They're not just doing away with them, they're hiking something up to cover it. They even say as much in that thing that was posted. For every fat middle-aged generic midwestern guy out there who says, "fuck yeah, I'm booking Virgin, they don't charge hidden fees" there will be another fat middle-aged generic midwestern guy out there who says, "fuck Virgin, their shit has gotten way too expensive".
  14. This statement could not be more inaccurate. Very much depends on the level.
  15. Turns out this was the founder of Capri Sun's (yes the fruit drink) yacht. Apparently the auto-pilot locked up and it actually happened twice in a few minutes. Computer couldn't find park I guess. Here's the full story... https://www.celebritynetworth.com/articles/celebrity-cars/yacht-crash-capri-sun/ Couple more angles...
  16. If it were only that easy.
  17. Sounds like the fishing guide I chartered in the Keys that one time. There's snarly old sailers, which I can handle, and then there's guys who are just dicks. Good luck and have fun.
  18. Good lord how does a Captain who's qualified to drive that thing even get it into that situation in the first place? I went round and round (with myself mostly) about this part of the buying decision. Had a lot of people tell me that, once you get used to it, docking isn't that hard. My first boat was really hard to dock, especially without a bow thruster, which went out after about the second use. And once I really stepped back and looked at it, that portion of every time we went out was by far, our least enjoyable part and it wasn't even close. Wife was a mess, fights happened, lots of words were said, wrecks were narrowly avoided (mostly), blood pressure was high. It really just took the fun out of it for both of us. So, we decided a joystick was a must have. I tried on several boats that didn't have one to bring myself to just get one without it, but I just couldn't. Hell, I'm having having heart palpitations just watching that boat hit that dock.
  19. Good on you...for having some wine and looking at the bright side. Can you switch instructors before your next session?
  20. I thought all the Tecova fanbois already took care of that.
  21. The Yellowstone-verse is heading to Texas for spin-off 6666
  22. Can we please get back to licking caviar off my balls? Please? Jeezus!
  23. So, is the flooring synthetic and the rest of it not? Or what's going on here? Side story...almost named our boat c'est si bon...so, this hits close to home. Kinda
