  1. The Granbury location has never disappointed. Hope the FW location and Burleson get up to speed.
  2. 28th Street location was in my rotation when working on the northside. Now going to W. Cleburne close to the home.
  3. On my bucket list but having to wait till Tuesday since they are closed on Monday. Drew's has been in business on the west side of FW a long time, maybe second only to Zeke's, another longtime west side favorite.
  4. Inquiring minds want to know, Old High or Rider?
  5. Does she have any brothers who are in middle school that play offensive line? Asking for a friend.

That'll preach in the most holy of barbecue restaurants.
  7. Get there. When the Parker County peaches arrive, their peach custard is the shit.
  8. https://www.metromaples.com/ We bought a Japanese maple tree from these folks, they delivered, planted, and suggested how to care for it in the first growing season. Enjoyed doing business with them and would recommend if this is something you have given consideration to.
  9. The last house on the block ALWAYS has a light on and is open year round 24/7. Glad you are here.
  10. But I can't think of anything else more worthy of doing on a daily basis than staying sober. The journey and it's subsequent rewards will be worth it, and the longest I've ever had to stay sober in the past 23+ years is 24 hours. As a former BOFZ tailgater, I wish you well my friend.
  11. The WFAA article had a quote regarding large weekly concerts and restaurant open houses. At one time when I worked for Caravan of Dreams, the outside concert promotion company owned by Bass would put on parking lot concerts with name bands and the restaurants would have food concessions. The crowds did come as a result of this effort, but after the turn of the century, these vanished for the most part. I can't recall the last time there was a live concert in Sundance Square outside of an occasional perfomance at Main Street.
  12. I knew Ed's former wife, Vickie, who was seen and not heard outside of the stock show parade every year. The Kraken he yoked up with in her place is ruining Sundance Square with a quickness. Sad to see the downtown that was so vibrant in the 90's beginning to look like the one from the 60's with vacant buildings and no sign of interest from tenants.
  13. Good on you Bear. Went to a service for the father of one my wife's sponsees yesterday. He was a three year letterman at TCU from '57-59, all SWC in 58, became a local HS coach and taught in FWISD for his entire career. The recovery community that showed up to share the experience with his recovering daughter made me grateful to be a part of such a compassionate fellowship. It was clear that the promise that says our whole attitude and outlook on life will change was being portrayed by everyone in recovery at this service, having made a decision to take action to support another person in a time of sorrow. While the preacher did a good job memorializing this man, the sermon I saw without words but with such actions spoke volumes to me and my wife. Keep showing up Bear-your life touches more people than you can imagine and the journey, while sometimes painful and sad, is one that can help someone else when their time comes. Love you brother.
  14. The wife and I have been going here since 2011 and it is really good. We have a waitress that knows us when we walk in and her service is outstanding. Have never had a bad meal here and price point is good too.
  15. Here's hoping the best times spent with your loving father will comfort you in the days ahead. Alcoholism is often a generational disease and to see that recovery in this case is as well makes my heart smile. God be with you my brother.
  16. Kleenex futures are trending upward after reading the last two days of threads in this forum.

Those /lb prices are VERY reasonable based on what is currently out there.

I hope you are flying in Wednesday or later since they are closed Monday and Tuesday. If you are there by 10:30 the line is usually less than 30 minutes, plus you can order online and pick up to avoid it.
  21. Glad you are here Moby. Sounds like you have had a moment of clarity which happens when the insanity of uncontrolled drinking becomes apparent. Anything that we can do to help you on this journey back to sanity and a purposeful life only needs be asked. Nineteen days without a drink is a good start.
  22. Your honesty expressed here will be a strength should you decide to take the plunge in the rooms of AA. If this were a zoom meeting and all of us could see each other, after hearing this, there would be a lot of nodding heads because we have had the same thoughts at one time. Stay with us here but please consider finding a group that you can call home-it will be worth it.
  23. I have driven by this station for years on my way to the Benbrook Y. Now I am going to stop in on your recommendation as this is the kind of place that has excellent fresh made food and based on the pics and reviews, deserves my business. Pos rep for the post. Had the chorizo burrito-HUGE and a meal unti itself, along with a barbacoa taco. Wife had the barbacoa quesadilla. They have two new customers who will be working our way through every option on the menu as the food and service was outstanding.
  24. Ate there one time, only because my meal was paid for. I took the under on four years and was right.
  25. The fries are hand cut and one order can feed two people easily. Project X is not for the faint of heart and is endorsed by FW protcologists society. Caveat emptor applies here.😁
