  1. This is a regular go to for us-the fajitas are excellent and priced below every other restaurant in FW.
  2. Even better than the TCU/Texas fan shop? NO WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY🤣
  3. They've got that fu(k around and find out swagger down pat.
  4. Never knew about profiteering from wars/disasters by the Red Cross. All I was ever taught usually had something to do with a huge ship with a red cross on it going somewhere to inoculate a group of third world people, treat the sick, etc. Never a word was mentioned about charging soldiers for basic needs, which puts them in the lowest level of Dante's inferno imho. That is fu(ked up X100.
  5. So you're saying they aren't on Angie's list, huh?🤣

Outstanding explanation of a once small time pitmaster and his wife who did what most of us would have done if faced with the same offer vs. the backbreaking daily grind of trying to make a living/have a life outside the restaurant. I will say that the Heim location on White Settlement has been consistently stellar every time I have been there, but you point is valid regarding the song of the siren (empire/$$$) and the lure of being able to not have to work the hours necessary to maintain a reputation that began when trying to be recognized in the first place. Hope you are proven wrong regarding Hurtado/Goldee's but history has proven you are probably correct here. One thing has proven to be true-there is no shortage of upcoming hopefuls in the barbecue arena here in DFW and Texas. As some of the formerly famous fade, new stars have their moment of recognition (still wish Goldee's had never been discovered by TM).
  7. Holy mother of God I would murder this masterpiece.
  8. We will connect the next time you are in FW I hope (and I won't be chairing our zoom meeting!). Spoke to several of the guys who enjoyed meeting you. The 7am meeting continues to be just what I need each day to get my focus on what is important in the day ahead.
  9. We had three days in QC and wish we had just come here for the entire 10 days we have been in Canada. The streets are alive with outdoor dining options and it truly does feel like Europe in so many ways. The greatest benefit we enjoyed was when two of our tours were cancelled due to the Pope being in town to speak. This allowed us to take our time seeing Montmorency falls, a river cruise down the St. Lawrence, and even got a video of the Pope when he passed by me on his way to the Fontenac. And don't even get me started on the weather-highs of 75-82/lows of 62-66, sheeeeeeit.
  10. FIFY, 'cuz they emailed me and told me to.😎
  11. Or the next great band name.
  12. There would never be a quorum, therefore no vote.
  13. That would require cooperation between the confederacy of dunces who are elected. Better chances of winning the lottery, but I agree with your premise.
  14. Having grown up in Corpus, Port A was a good second home and I know she rests easy. You did good and she is free to enjoy time with her sister while waiting for you to join them someday.
  15. All of the Rexall Rangers playing cowboy need a place to be seen-Timmy boy just bringing what the market will bear and making bank. That said, FUCK Tim Love.
  16. The wife made the reservations and got us a room.
  17. We are flying Air Canada (hopefully it takes off and with our luggage) to Montreal on Monday to start a seven day train trip to Halifax followed by a three day excursion to Prince Edward Island. Any surly suggestions regarding restaurants, sites to see, excursions, etc.? There are several options offered by the tour company but wanted to get any good suggestions as well as what to skip while traveling. And by the way, I think getting into Fort Knox would be easier than going to Canada these days-the restrictions and required paperwork are an ass whipping.
  18. I has a sad and will miss going here when in town for HS reunion.
  19. Drinking at the University Pub/Hi Hat/Oui Lounge and eating a burger at Jon's Grille was a weekly endeavor for me back in the 80's. But while at the Oui would let Johnny Whitten bring dinner to the bar from Caro's, a precursor to door dash.
  20. The fact that it outlasted the Caravan of Dreams and Reatta (now) still is a head scratcher for me.
  21. Can do this. Any day M-F that week works.

    Second. They do good work.
  23. The Harbor Group at 7am is my home group. Come around 6:30 and I'll buy the coffee.
  24. Golden Triangle in Keller 7pm, Language of the Heart 6pm in Colleyville, Grapevine Unity 6pm. I have been to these and heard the solution as well as enjoyed the fellowship. If you are feeling frisky, Harbor 6pm in FW is also an option, but Sunday there is a breakfast meeting at 9am followed by a speaker at 11 which is always a good choice.

JM would have shown her where his nickname came from, maybe even taking a selfie with her while doing so, you know, for sentimental reasons cause he was such a sensitive guy😎
