  1. I didn't count UCF and I make no apologies for it!
  2. This is a big NO. There are too many teams on that list that don't belong in the show. Consolidation is happening. Its great for the schools surviving it and devastation for the left behind. I think we're headed toward three 20 team conferences. We're certainly not headed for a 28 team conference. Here are the 10 bottom feeders in your list, you can keep two. CAL, SDSU, BU, UH, CINCY, BC, CUSE, WAKE, DUKE, GT & UCF.
  3. Yes, but its not because ESPN is losing them money. It does pretty well for them. The issue is Disney can't pay for the buying sprees they went on a few years ago. IIRC they paid $71bill for Fox. Those payments are still being made. Disney would actually prefer to partner ESPN with somebody. But the last week or two have proven, though Amazon and Apple have money to burn, they actually never burn any. So don't expect them to partner up with ESPN.
  4. This only happens IF the ACC is raided of these schools UV, UM, FSU, CLEMSON & NC. If any of those five are left behind by the BIG & SEC, then they'd be the first in line for the BIG12. The four ACC additions that the Big12 would get out of an ACC collapse are NCST, VT, LOUISVILLE & PITT. Those guys are perfect fits for the Big12. Why do some people think additions have to raise the viewership and/or be some blue blood brand. The Big12 is going be filled will feisty younger brothers that out punch their weight class and occasionally knock out the heavy weight. That makes for some entertaining football. As we know the Linear overlords want consolidation. Three 20 team conferences give them just that. The ACC left behind will be BC, CUSE, WF & GT. They don't deserve to left out but that's life. There is a chance that B.Y. would also want Cuse & Duke in the Big22. He would love some MBB Blue Bloods.
  5. Well, up until last week the B12 had never added an AAU school. If the Big12 can change their policy so can the B1G.
  6. I meant to have Arky at about #5 and I was pretty sure nobody would argue with me having Allen and Dallas Carter ahead of Baylor and SMU.
  7. UT, OU, AGGIE, TECH, TCU, OKST, UNT, ALLEN HS, DALLAS CARTER, BU, SMU
  8. That's not terrible. Kinda watchable. More balanced than the PAC12 was.
  9. I can't stop laughing at the fact Cals football stadium has a final payment of $75,000,000 in the year 2112. Of course by the year 2112 $75,000,000 is prolly what we'll be paying for a can of air.
  10. Heres the link to the August of 2021 announcement that the Cal stadium would be named FTX field. 10yr 17.5mill deal. https://www.si.com/college/cal/news/cal-field-naming-rights
  11. Here's the link to the sportico article about the crushing debt at Cal. https://www.sportico.com/leagues/college-sports/2020/cal-bears-financial-troubles-1234609207/
  12. As has been discussed here, Cals stadium debt is $450,000,000. The debt is literally on a 100 year note. The last payment is due in 2112. So I was thinking they couldn't have possibly screwed this up any worse but they did. The stadium naming rights belong to none other than the crytocurrency scam known as FTX. So for several years now Cals been getting payed in FTX currency that is now worthless. LOL
  13. As has been said on this thread before, 'No conference wants to add a school that will buy the best talent and therefore beat you. But at the same time add Zero value. infact they'll just dilute the earings.'
  14. I'm actually fine with the UH addition. I just can't resist the opportunity to throw some shade at Coug High. The remaining 8 couldn't have done better than the four additions that they made and the national perception of adding BYU, UH, UCF & CINCY was very positive. It didn't just save the Big12, it positioned them to bat cleanup after the PAC cratered. I will be watching UH's attendance numbers this fall. Obviously they'll have the sellout on Oct 21st. OkieLite & TCU will bring a lot of fans. But what kind of crowd will they have for Cincy, UCF & WVU. If UH isn't playing somebody who will bring a lot of fans, will they have more that 30,000 fans at a game?
  15. WSU Presiden Kirk Schulz interview with ESPN. Good read from their perspective. https://www.espn.com/college-sports/story/_/id/38162254/wsu-president-preparing-realignment-moves-bad-spot
  16. The most important thing to B.Y. was to have 14 teams by the fall of 2024. He worked very hard with the Linear providers for the conference to have slots for 14 teams in the fall of 2023. The Big12 will certainly lose some of those slots for the fall of 2024 since they are losing OUT, but they certainly couldn't retain those slots without the teams to fill them. So the Big12 had to add two to get back to 14. Adding two more, above that, to get to 16 was OK with Fox & ESPN. Plus it is now clear that the Big12 is the #3 football conference and pretty much the #1 basketball conference. It's really hard to argue that the Big12 hasn't navigated the last year and a half to near perfection. Except for adding Houston.
  17. With all the responses since the PACX blew up on Friday, combined with the fact I can only surly when my boss isn't looking, it took my all week to get to the of this thread. It was expanding faster that I could observe it, kinda like the universe.
  18. I think one of the attendance and fanbase problems that Cal, Stanford and SMU have is that they have ZERO appeal outside their graduates. And they make Zero effort to engage outsiders, in fact they prefer that people who don't look like their graduates not come to their games. UT has quiet a few non alumni at their games. I live in Lubbock and my guesstamet is that 30% of their crowd didn't go to college and 40% didn't go to Tech. But Tech makes a broad appeal locally. Including organizations like Raider Rojos. Cal and Stanford's elitist snobbery has come around to bite them in the ass.
  19. I would love to bring the ASU & UU presidents to Lubbock and take them on a tour. A tour of our truck stops, giant feedlot, and cotton seed processing facilities. Maybe a wind farm and I'll take to church on Sunday.
