  1. Alex Dunlap's OL grades for OU (full write-up spoiled below)
  2. Yeah, I haven't been the biggest fan of our strategy of taking 2 HS running backs every year up to this point. It has clogged the room with unknowns/JAGs (of course, injuries have played a role as mentioned several times in the thread already). I'm not completely against it some years if you can find guys with 2 different skillsets. Part of the issue we have right now is we don't have a Jaydon Blue or someone with a different skillset to complement the other RBs on the roster. We seem to have a bunch of guys in the room who all kind of offer the same thing.
  3. There needs to be some winter portal cleaning in that room. Carrying 6 scholarship RBs is pointless when half of them are JAGs. They also need to operate with the assumption that CJ Baxter doesn't exist and anything he adds in the future is a bonus. I'm not saying run him off because he seems to be a good leader and value add off the field, but we are in year 3 now, and the dude has been the opposite of durable.
  4. He really isn't that good of a back. He hasn't shown great vision either year he has been here and was still doing JV stuff like trying to bounce runs outside as recently as 3 days ago. He got a lot of mileage out of that one TD run against Michigan. The fumbling issue is just the cherry on top. Good luck to him at his next stop, but you could see this coming from a mile away in August when a guy coming off an Achilles tear passed him on the depth chart.
  5. Bobby posted a few days ago that Quinn was starting to trend towards Ohio State
  6. If I remember right, Kentucky had 3 weeks to prep for us last year (bye week + November FCS opponent), while we had Arkansas the week before and A&M the week after. We handled business pretty easily. Hopefully we get a repeat.
  7. The good coaches still find a way to squeeze every ounce out of what they have even if a unit or two are screwed up. You can’t go back in time and redo offseason mistakes but you can maximize what you have and scheme around weaknesses. That is why you are paid $10 million. To be a problem solver. Interested to see how the rest of this year shakes out.
  8. Bobby made a comment this morning that he is expecting something like 10-15 snaps for Mosley
  9. Full team notes from IT
  10. Nahlin said he’s hearing Muhammad is not likely to play
  11. Hamstrings are rarely 2-3 week type injuries with no lingering impact. Hell, Wisner has had 4+ weeks at this point and still doesn’t sound 100%. Hopefully Baxter can work his way back at some point. You can’t control what happened to his knee in a practice setting last year, but he hasn’t exactly been the definition of durable going back to his freshman season. He needs some positive momentum.
  12. He upgraded guys to probable as the week went on several times last year. FCB said earlier today he was hearing Wisner would play but may not start. Sounds like he could be on a pitch count.
  13. I think the OTF crew were the first people to bring it up this morning but i just saw it mentioned again. The forecast is calling for wind gusts up to 30 MPH on Saturday. That might be more impactful than any rain.
  14. I think it has been mentioned that Sark has a pretty good track record against Ron Roberts. I can't remember if Roberts pulled out any of the three deep safety looks in 2021 or 2022 at Baylor.
  15. Florida On3 posted this a few hours ago: Handing over the call sheet wasn’t something Napier considered during the bye, he said. However, Gators Onlinel earned — and Napier confirmed — that he asked staff members to send him their suggestions on what Florida could do better offensively Some staff suggestions included which players should be targeted more, ways to run the ball better and how to get Lagway going in the passing game. One of them was taking shots down the field, and Napier acknowledged that he needs to call more deep balls.
  16. Florida was only +7.5 at Miami a few weeks ago. Obviously, Miami covered, but it was a 13-7 game with 4 minutes to go in the 4th quarter. I'm sure Florida has been downgraded some more in the Vegas power ratings stuff since that game, but Texas -6.5/7 seems about right if you factor in home field.
  17. Patterson was looking to potentially get another head job (I believe it was mentioned he pushed hard for the Houston job two years ago). I don't think Pittman is looking to run a program again.
  18. Pittman is about to turn 64 years old, had to coach a bowl game from the booth last year because of bad knees/hips and just got paid $8 million to not work anymore. He probably isn't coaching anywhere moving forward, and he certainly ain't coming here to be a damn analyst.
  19. Foreman was a great RB. He also carried the ball a ridiculous 323 times that year and the veer and shoot scheme we had with Gilbert as OC is pretty RB friendly with the wide splits and space it creates.
  20. There is no way they went into last offseason with the plan to acquire someone like Jackson Arnold to be their QB. I'm assuming they tried to lure some other options into the portal and failed.
  21. Auburn feels like it is definitely going to open up. 6-6 is very much on the table. 2 losses currently, and still have to play Georgia, Alabama, Missouri, and Vandy.
  22. James Franklin isn't just losing to top 10 teams. He loses to pretty much any P4 team with a pulse.
  23. You still don't get the point. James Franklin has played 25 games against top 10 teams and 80% (20 of 25) have come at Penn State. Steve Sarkisian has played 23 games against top 10 teams and almost half came at the University of Washington 15 years ago. To add to it, James Franklin is 15-28 against ranked opponents at Penn State. 15-28. Steve Sarkisian isn't anywhere near that level.
  24. One has coached at Penn State for the last 12 years. The other has half his top 10 losses from his time at Washington over a decade ago
