  1. This thread lay dormant for a month and got bumped to page 2. Speaks volumes about the past month and all the surliness happening out there. Bit of a mellow, quiet morning in the After-life here. Sipping some excellent coffee at dawn. The sprinklers come on, and I am immediately grateful for all that I have. I already knew we were buying a quality house when we moved in a year ago, but I’m not used to having some of the seamless amenities that we have here: sprinkler system, whole-house generator, alarm system, pre-wired sound, etc. I thought we were living well in SWFL before we came to our senses and came back home to TX. Even though the piney woods is a far cry from what I’m used to, I marvel at what a damn good decision it all has been. It’s the little things that make up the whole package, ya know? Hell, I don’t need to be a 1%er, but being a 2%er ain’t too shabby...ha! Happy Monday, ya flithy animals.
  2. I’m not much of a tequila drinker, but I keep some good stuff stocked for guests or cocktails or whatever. One for mixin’, one for sippin’. Your post inspired me to finally investigate this Ranch Water thing. Picked up some limes, some Topo. It has been glorious. For the past month, it has been the perfect Summer sippin’ especially with the heat coming on. Already had to go buy more Tequila (and limes, and Topo). Thanks for the push. And salud!
  3. Haven’t terrorized SA since January 2018, and THAT agenda involved my parents’ 50th, so the wife (no pics) and I are happy to come back and raise some hell our way. Anniversary trip for us. Like most people, we haven’t left our own town in 3 months, but we thought we would give it a shot. When I saw that Wade Bowen is playing Freiheit on the 13th in an acoustic, table-purchase-only performance, I set wheels in motion. Glad I did, because it is sold out So...for the 3 nights before the show, a room at The Gunter, a full Mokara spa day for my girl, Bohanan’s reservations, and whatever the hell else we can find that’s open. I might hit Jacala one last time before things change, and I’d love to hit Hogwild if they decide to reopen. Other than that, just gonna wing it and enjoy. I have a feeling we probably should’ve waited a few more weeks for such a trip, but night 4 in New Braunfels will be a great anniversary treat for my girl before heading home on the 14th. ‘Rona and racism be damned. 300 mile journey starts Wednesday morn. I expect to be having something frosty in my hand at Mexican Manhattan and ordering lunch by 1pm.
  4. It’s not difficult to predict, and I’m betting the local news announced it. There’s a storm in the Gulf. It’s gonna push water. Tide is gonna come. Bit of a no-brainer, but, then again, I also grew up there.
  5. These will be people that will curse their dealer when their undercarriage rusts out in 6 months, and they will be oblivious to what could have caused such a thing.
  6. Same here. Possibility for an early August trip here. Or just shitcan it for next year...?
  7. I look forward to a review.
  8. For any tattoo aficionados... Just found out that Hart & Huntington has officially reopened at The Forum Shops at Caesars’. I’m guessing their plans to remain at Virgin after their conversion of the Hard Rock wasn’t meant to be. Gotta be a story behind it, because the plan for their updated/upgraded Virgin place seemed set-in-stone when the shutdown happened. If 2020 has taught us nothing...things change.
  9. I've seen films that start this way. Thanks for translating the German dialogue for me.
  10. Thanks for this, just bought the Arbor Motionsense by Moen with the AC adapter. Nice to know it's gonna work well. I would've been perfectly happy with the manual one, but the wife (no pics), who is as old-school as I am, said to go for the touchless and give it a try. Gonna install it tomorrow with a new Insinkerator Evolution Excel with a sink-top switch. Not looking forward to rolling around in the cabinet, but definitely looking forward to the new setup.
  11. What in carnation...?
  12. Did you leave her satisfied?
  13. It is amazing to me the amount of women that have never been properly fucked. I feel fortunate to have been able to provide such a service.
  14. Can you get me a toe, dude?
  15. Username definitely checks out.
  16. This hurts quite a bit. https://www.sacurrent.com/Flavor/archives/2020/05/15/broker-confirms-jacala-is-for-sale-even-though-the-san-antonio-eaterys-owners-and-fans-deny-it?media=AMP+HTML
  17. Resurrecting this thread for advice. Looking at 2 conferences in October & November, unless they just get shitcanned. Been awhile since the wife (no pics) and I have been in town. Probably staying a week to make the most of the getaway. No kids, just us. We are SPG-loyalists trapped in the Marriott regime. Never stayed at the W, but I see so many mixed reviews on it. I also understand there’s a newish Westin. Within the whole current Bonvoy scope, what say Surly? What’s the best downtown hotel pick?
  18. Ditto here. Life is good.
  19. Why a saucer?
  20. Well...duh, but is so much to ask that our current conversations have just a bit of purpose sometimes?
  21. Flip-flops in the attic. Good call.
  22. Don’t get me wrong. Not picking on you, but...isn’t that strange to just presume that the next unreleased Bourbon you haven’t had yet is the best thing ever? Gleeful anticipation aside, of course. For the record, I dig the 1870 Original Batch out of all the Row series. And love the Rye the more that I drink it. Just sayin...
  23. Jesus...same here. My parents never answer. So I put the phone down and keep it close. Sure enough, within 3 minutes is a return phone call. And the first 10 minutes of every call with my folks consists of how they thought they heard something but they weren’t sure, or how they heard it but couldn’t get to it, and then a detailed accounting of what they were doing, and then the steps they took to either discontinue what they were doing or finish what they were doing so that they could check their phone and call back. I can’t tell you how many 20 minute conversations I’ve had with my Dad where I hang up and never got to ask or discuss the very thing that I called for.....
  24. This seems odd. Taste and preference is subjective, of course, but your #2 pick is an untasted guess.
