  1. Tailgate last year, I had a little charcoal grill where it wasn't totally "indirect" and since drinking a lot I forgot to rotate and legs were way ahead of the breasts, so a quick slice and the leg quarters came right off and went to far side and I rotated the rest. So, ideally this wouldn't be necessary but it is a useful improvise method if need be.
  2. I do this every time my wife asks me to open something.
  3. Watched the series over the last 3 months. Really good to great show. They really couldn't have ended it much better and loved how the last line(s) of the show led straight to the "thank you harlen county residents" credit. I thought for sure if I searched youtube I'd fine some compilation of all the times Boyd says hi or welcomes Raylan as he walks in, but no. Would be hilarious to hear over an over "Well Raylan Givens! To what do I owe this most unexpected surprise?!" Also the show is very bad for somebody trying to cut down on bourbon consumption...
  4. Man if ABW had to remove the RV's from Heisenberg cans, then that can't last long..
  5. Hell I go tree fiddy
  6. You guys are behind. I've had 4 at scholz Garten before the two basketball games and a sixer at home.
  7. My son is applying to UT this year. I doubt he gets in. (not humble brag)
  8. Anybody know what this is about? I guess I'm good for the Nov 30th show in Austin.
  9. Yes, can we get rid of all the pinned threads on tapa?
  10. So even the first humans to enter America knew that Texas was the place to be. Makes sense...
  11. Don't think so. But yeah, seems they usually arrive by now.
  12. I got home and the wife has 3 pitchers of boiled water in the fridge. Tastes like water. This shit isn't that hard. Now I'm drinking Axis IPA...not boiled.
  13. Is this for real? I've never heard of this method. Yes. And do the same for when you spatchcock your turkey in a few weeks. Hmm, do we have a spatchcock thread yet...
  14. Just watched this. Pretty damn funny. The opening dad/son song and the summer of 1353 (recorder solo rocks) were my favorite new to me ones. Part Time Model is one of my favorites. At least it ran during the credits...
  15. Kids grow up so fast, don't they?
  16. Yeah, after leaving the 2012 game in the 2nd quarter I vowed to end my 17 year attendance streak if Mack was still coach because after another blowout he clearly didn't care as much as me. I blame shaggy influence for the decision to skip 2013, but yeah, nobody could have predicted that beatdown. I also missed 2014 due to wife having surgery, so I should bump 2015 up in my rankings. Since it had been 3 yrs since attending and 6 yrs since seeing a win, we really had a blast remembering how great of day it is when the good guys win.
  17. https://altonbrown.com/homemade-soft-pretzels-recipe/
  18. This is what I would have said
  19. Kid is starting to be the JackStraw's dog of the beer thread.
  20. Baking soda bath per Alton Brown recipe. The 2nd pan I left in oven a bit longer and they were darker.
  21. I intended to get more Ayinger but my HEB was wiped out. The Sierra Nevada / Weihenstephaner collaboration is really good though. A sixer of that and a couple of Oaktoberfests, followed by some Jagerschnitzel, and I'm doing all right. ou ist Scheiße!
  22. Schnitzel, Kartoffelsalat, grüne Bohnen. I don't know why I only make this once a year. Was awesome... (yeah a couple of pieces got a little dark but was fine)
  23. Pretzels for a snack. Jäger schnitzel coming later...
  24. Oktoberfest day at the house. Prost!
