  1. Tennis too. Serena would have been top 600-1000 in the world in the men’s game.
  2. I need a bigger house. https://www.austinpetsalive.org/adopt/dogs
  3. The 1 million people watching Colbert or the 339 million not watching are upset?
  4. Letterman’s 2014 ratings were about 2.8 million viewers(one of his worst statistical years), almost triple the reach of the current late show version. Assuming 12 years of inflation, Letterman was probably cheaper to produce and faced less competition for add dollars. They were profitable even while paying Letterman $14 million a year. The whining about the cancellation is wild, economics/ratings be damned. Stewart out there crying that CBS should keep paying $20 million to Steve to lose $40million, that’s called job security. I wonder if Steve offered to take a pay cut to try to help keep his staff and crew employed? The Late Show is the WNBA of entertainment at the moment. Pay him what he’s worth! The difference will be that the W will turn a profit this year, Steven not so much.
  5. I’ve had the same experience in the past with these type of adoptions and walked. The demands are insane
  6. Love Tari but he is betting on himself. Otherwise he would have an extension. Win sort of win for the Rockets. Has a great year and gets the bag = probably good playoff results for Houston. Gets injured again he signs for cheap.
  7. I think they like the team as is and are set up well contract/player wise if they need to grab a guard at the deadline to push them over the top.
  8. Friend picking up a pup soon. Great Dane cuteness overload. How do you choose?
  9. All Star Game ratings down 36% from last year 2.19 million vs 3.44 million
  10. The real question is why would CBS not pull the plug sooner while they were losing more money than the WNBA annually? Steve sure didn't take a pay cut
  11. Mr Beast gets 100 million views and more from one video. Takes Colbert 100 episodes to reach the same audience. YT car repair videos and tits fishing get more views than the legacy late night shows for a penny on the dollar to produce Maybe the staff was massively overpaid.
  12. All in on Defense. Easier to hide Reed and Fred with all these positionless wings
  13. He was the highest ratings getter, but those numbers are down from an average of 5+million viewers for the Leno/Letterman years to 1million viewers. cost $100 million to produce, Steve takes $20 million a year and the show loses $40 million a year. streaming killed the audience and sponsors
  14. Like most sports, they should cancel the all star game. What an embarrassment
  15. correct The highly privileged trading in victim currency is exhausting. You don't even work six months a year. While revenues are up, so are expenses. See adding $25 million to the budget to pay for private planes last season. "The WNBA plans to commit $50 million over the next two years to provide full-time charter flight service for its teams during the season, commissioner Cathy Engelbert announced Tuesday" WNBA to begin full-time charter flights, commissioner says - ESPN
  16. She really is rent free in their brains. The jealousy is palpable
  17. “Earning it” would have been a far more effective slogan.
  18. Those investments are little to no risk when the NBA will back the W and their losses no matter what. Don’t think anyone would complain about the WNBA eating what it kills and if they can finish the season in the black for the first time in their history the players deserve to share in that to some degree. They would have far leas backlash if they focused on what they have earned and grown the last five years instead of the line that they are “owed” anything. It’s simply tone deaf. They make more than the median US salary for about 4 months of work. Those with endorsements make far more. Their entire PR apparatus needs to be fired and restarted from scratch.
  19. When they speak of a loss of $40 million, will that be repaid? Is the league in debt or are the investors just covering losses? If so, do the investors who have lost a quarter billion over the history of the league expect to recoup those losses or is this new TV deal in a vacuum that ignores prior losses and starts their balance sheet at zero each fiscal year?
