    Conan

I got into his podcast during the pandemic and it’s great. It’s closer to the Conan Without Borders than the normal show since it’s mostly him just riffing with a guest with no structure. He’s so ridiculously quick witted.
  3. Pardon My Take podcast had a couple of fun interviews with Horner (about a month ago) and Ricciardo (last week) for anyone who is interested. The hosts fully admit that they know nothing about the sport, so the interviews are short on detailed analysis, but are fun insights into both guys.

Went last night and had a great time. So many chances went begging, which was frustrating, but an entertaining game for a 0-0 draw. The stadium is beautiful and is really intimate. I also liked all of the local brands all over the place. Really adds to a sense of community. Definitely some crowd control kinks to work out, but it's the first home game for the team, so that's going to happen. I know there was the USWNT game, but a mid week game is a different animal than a Saturday night franchise opener. We were in the Lexus Lounge area on the west side and agree on the earlier comments about the west side being like the UT games. Not the most into it crowd and definitely want to spend some time in the Supporter's Section in the future. The Lexus Lounge has a pretty average group of "free" beer options and the good stuff was extra. The Electric Jellyfish was $17, which is just fucking wild. More than $1 an ounce. LOL. I'll stick with the free shit. After the game, we met some friends in the beer hall for a post game drink, which is a cool place. By the time we got to the car, there was no traffic, so I think that's the play at future games.
  5. Awesome, thanks. Ordered. Badass shirt
  6. Great to see. I stopped tracking daily as it was making me all ragey. I guess people are seeing the benefit of being vaxxed in reentering normal life?

Got the invite for Saturday's game. Super excited. What's the play pre-game? There are all of those breweries around the stadium, but looking through their sites I didn't see any special events planned. Just show up to one and see if I can get in? I'm sure they'll all be zoos.
  8. My wife and I watched "Hacks" over the weekend and really enjoyed it. Jean Smart is a legend.
  9. Fantastic. Really great and good to see Owen back at his best. It's been a while.
  10. Ah yes, Takeaway. A classic. I think that's my wife's favorite. The show can make you laugh, but has some real poignant moments for the parents too. The parents are both aspirational in how they interact with the kids, but also very relatable in how they screw up and in general, are just normal parents with their own lives and interests. We love it.
  11. For those with little kids, Bluey Season 2 is up as of a couple weeks. Pretty sure my kids have been through it at least twice. It’s still terrific.
  12. I mean, Say what you like about the tenets of National Socialism, Dude, at least it’s an ethos.
  13. I’m on a plane and got locked into this Portugal/Italy game. What a game. Wide open game from minute 1 and we’re in the second half of extra time. 4-3 and 10-man Italy just missed a chance to tie it by inches.
  14. The photos of Azpi holding the cup makes me so happy. What a legend at the club and an absolute rock for many years. For 7 million pounds, you could do a lot worse.
  15. Well, looks like Black Pumas are still on for this week. Does anyone have a couple for Wednesday? I have 2 for Saturday, but I am going out of town, so looking for a straight trade on the dates.

    Vinyl

That's awesome that you brought this up. Shea was an intern at my company a few years back. He was actually just getting into vinyl at the time and we bonded over that a bit. About a year after he left, I heard that he started this company. I can't speak to the quality of the product, but he is a good dude and trustworthy. Happy that it seems like he is doing well with this endeavor. I went and checked out Love Wheel today. Pretty cool little shop. I typically go to Waterloo when I know what I want and may pick around a bit. This is much more of a neighborhood type place where you go in having no idea what you'll find. It's small, so you can probably get through the stacks in 30 minutes and find some gems. I'm actually currently listening to the copy of "Let It Bleed" that I picked up today for $10. It sounds great.
  17. Brutal match. Chance after chance went begging. Hopefully we're saving them for next weekend. Not ideal way to do it, but Top 4 is always nice. pretty wild up and down EPL season.
  18. Wife was out of town, so I was flipping around the streaming services looking for something to watch. Amazon had "Layer Cake" on the front page, which is a movie I really liked when it came out and during it's post theater cable run, but hadn't seen in years. Thought I would check in and see if it was as good as I remember. Let me tell you, that movie still fucking rules. Just entertaining as hell from start to finish. If you hadn't seen it in a while (or never have seen it), I highly recommend checking it out.
  19. Fuck yes. Huge. Thankfully that was Ayoze and not an actually good player on the end of that pass.
  20. Seriously, why the fuck is Timo an auto-start every game?
  21. My wife just flew to Denver to help put her mom in a nursing home. Her mom is only 65, so it's way too early for this and has been really hard on her whole family. She started showing signs a couple years ago, but the last few months she has developed Capgras Syndrome, which is basically Imposter Syndrome. A couple times a day, she thinks my father in law is an intruder and she screams and curses at him and runs away. He can't get her back into the house because she thinks he is trying to hurt her. She then calls whoever is easily accessible on her phone frantic about it and they have to try to talk her back into the house. Hard on my wife when she is in the middle of a 12 hour work day and has to talk her mom back into her own home. My mother in law actually called the cops once and they came out to the house, which was an interesting experience for my extremely straight laced father in law. She also constantly wants to go to a party, and when they get people together to make her happy she asks "where is everybody?" The "party" is never good enough. She wasn't a super social person to begin with, so definitely a weird way her dementia has changed her. My sister in law lives in Denver with her family and she is exhausted because she has to host her mentally deteriorating mom constantly to give her a "party" and she has two little kids and a job. My father in law is definitely not one to give in or complain, so if he thinks he can't take care of her and she needs to go into a home, I can't imagine how hard it is on him.
  22. Horizontal rain just came through downtown. Looks to have calmed a bit.
  23. Bluey is the best kids show and it's not close. Both my 1 year old and 4 year old will sit and watch it for as long as we'll let them. It's also legitimately a good show and the parent's experiences are pretty relatable, so I'll watch it with them too.
