  1. In general I find it hard to reconcile the dual belief that a member of my organization should be protected from the law if he is a pedophile, but at the same time some random gay couple shouldn't be allowed to raise children or to teach them, or in some cases even attend the schools my organization runs. I don't know what the answer is other than to not give money to any organizations with those views and to encourage others to follow my example. I will say that US churches in general have spent the better part of the life of this country persecuting my people, and the part of me that craves revenge would be completely on board with a little reverse persecution. They've definitely earned it. I also do not like the idea of my taxes being what they are in part to make up the shortfall that happens because these persecutors are tax exempt. I try not to be revenge minded, though, so I don't have a good answer to this question.
  2. My company in Seattle is still voluntary to go to the office, but you must sign an attestation that you are fully vaccinated before you are able to participate in person in any company event. You are also not allowed to travel without signing the attestation and you will be accommodated for not getting vaccinated in the short term by the teams having zoom links for you to join remotely. Oh, and if you signed, you can't expense anything you do with a fellow employee who hasn't signed. This policy will be revisited in September. They did it for 2 reasons, #1, liability, they don't want it, and #2, some people have been going into the office for awhile and they want to be able to be with their fellow vaccinated employees without a mask. So they are finally going to get that. It had other unintended consequences, it's brought the company kooks out of the woodwork, so now I know which morons I need to avoid. It also got one of my colleagues to finally get off his ass and get a vaccine scheduled. I'm ok with both of those outcomes.
  3. Isn't that "Think twice cause I won't" sticker redundant? It's clear from all the other stickers that this person doesn't often even think once, much less twice.
  4. I somehow missed the dark web story. Oh wait was that the person that was running something something pirate's cove something something?
  5. Funny enough, I'm looking for exactly the same amount for exactly the same reason. While for the purposes of future court documents I'm not participating in this venture, I may have some ideas.
  6. I guess they aren't counting the weeks of national guard salaries for deployment, all the fencing, the cost of tracking down and jailing these fucks, and the cost of the courts to process the cases? Because they should be counting all of that.
  7. Umm....is there some non-nefarious reasoning or has he just dropped all pretense at this point?
  8. The strikethrough was required to capture my thought when I saw the thread title.
  9. Dude, mine went to shit too under Trump, but the people I know that are Trumpers are all boomers, and for their whole life Republicans = low taxes and Democrats = high taxes. There is no evidence or proof you can show them that will get them to believe anything different. I've tried.
  10. I know they pulled these people out and gave them a ride to shore. I might've thrown them a rope to tow them in, but I wouldn't have let them in my boat. Would've gone nice and slow and every 15 seconds or so asked them what lessons they learned today.
  11. The big problem is that to the people I know that are still on board with the Trumpers, they still do see it as a game. They want lower taxes and they don't give a fuck whatever else happens because lower taxes is the only thing that they see that directly affects them. Everything else is just window dressing. They just assume that the roads and hospitals and jails will continue to get built and maintained because they always have. They just assume they'll have good power and internet and access to food and entertainment because they always have. In short, all the Republicans I know these days are the "Fuck you, I got mine" variety. And I have found no argument that will get them off that perch.
  12. Trolls get negged. There is no reason to seriously respond to someone who is simply here to get people pissed off for the sake of pissing them off.
  13. So let me make sure I am clear....A grown adult saw a film that was released in 2021, and this has somehow ruined his entire childhood, that I'm assuming took place in the previous century? How? I can't imagine anything I might see this year that would make me think that the time of my life that happened over 30 years ago was ruined.
  14. Well I don’t know about anything much, but I can read your post and know you are a liar. Worth a neg and an ignore in the very first post that I ever registered your user name. Impressive work!
  15. That image has given me a confuse. I don't even know what to say about it, except why are the men with guns in the little princess tiaras?
  16. I can see some of us like orgasms way more than you do.
  17. I couldn't decide whether I wanted to rage at this or laugh. 100% agree, but because nothing is going to change it's a laugh or get ragey situation.
  18. So what's the difference between that and the other vaccines that the schools already require and that parents routinely get for their kids? Aside from the fact that this one has been politicized in a way that it wasn't when we were doing the same thing for smallpox and rubella and measles and polio?
  19. No racism in the US.
  20. Yup meant to quote the guy that said that NYT has some pretty cool interactive thingies to learn more.
  21. They had one a few weeks ago that shows how germs spread on airplanes that was fantastic as well.
  22. I'd love it if both of these people would go away.
  23. Well fecal Rick has always been a moron. I don't even have to press play to know that. Fuck him.
  24. There is no racism so why do we need civil rights divisions at all, and if we're going to have it, do we really think a black and a woman is somehow qualified to run it? Apparently 48 people thought some version of that. Unreal.
