  1. Mark me down as "in" on the river architecture tour. I'm not a big "architecture" guy but there's some history, some legend, and a few helpful hints on that tour, and it's a good way to see the city. I did it last July, and would go again. There is a full bar on the river boat.

I spend 3 days each March in Memphis coaching kids soccer. If you decide Memphis is a "must-do," I would go to the civil rights museum, and then go to Central BBQ for a snack, and then go to Beale to watch the flippers. All that should take less than 8 hours and, at that point, you'll want to get the f___ out of Memphis and go anywhere else. Anywhere. If you want to spend more than 8 hours in Memphis, you must know something I don't, because I think it pretty much sucks.
  3. Sunny isles beach. fly into FLL and Uber to acqualina. Dinner outside there or at the Hyde. Breakfast on your balcony. If you get bored, head south. Until then sit your ass on a padded lounge chair and watch the thong parade. remember the little flag routine at panchos Mexican buffet? Your lounge chair has a flag - you know the drill - whatever you want they’ll bring it. the finest everything - cars, shopping, nightlife, fishing, hotels, dining is all at your fingertips, with a Russian Lyft/Uber driver to narrate.
  4. Tennis isn’t exactly the egalitarian sport I would hold up to demonstrate that skiing is “only rich white people.” Do you see a lot of tennis down at the boys club? No? I bet they have a pool there though, don’t they? Your comparison sucks.
  5. This is like a modern day kon- tiki, with stewardesses. A riveting tale.
  6. This guy is a regular aggy war hero. From his regent bio: While at Texas A&M, he served as a Battalion Commander in the Corps of Cadets. Upon graduation, Mr. Buzbee was named a Distinguished Naval Graduate, Distinguished Student and was recognized as the Outstanding NROTC Senior in the Corps of Cadets, as well as the Outstanding Commander in the Corps of Cadets. The Buzbee Leadership Learning Center, located on the Quad, is named in his honor. Mr. Buzbee served in the United States Marine Corps in the Persian Gulf and Somalian conflicts, earning the rank of Captain, where he received various awards including the prestigious Navy Commendation Medal. batallion commander and distinguished naval graduate and he watched people steal all his stuff from his home while his weapon malfunctioned? there are only two possibilities - his military training left him inadequately prepared for action; or he’s runnin a scam.
  7. On your previous boat, the Farr, what was terminal velocity? At what speed did you start dialing back? I'm guessing mid-20's. Having gone 30 in a poling skiff, I cannot really imagine that with sails up. I can speak to a j/22 - at about 14 knots through the water, you really cannot improve your hand. As the wind increases you sail deeper and deeper, while the waves increase but, unless you're in the southern ocean on that 22, you'll submarine into the back of the next wave, load up and fold the rudder. Some guy on Sailing Anarchy claims 23.1 on a 22. That just didn't happen and I would bet a lot on it. I've gone faster on a Melges but I wouldn't say we ever hit terminal velocity. I've seen some pictures from the gorge where m24 sailors have fear in their eyes.
  8. This is like arguing with my sister's kids.
  9. You’ll have to show me. I won’t believe it until I see it. Maybe you’ll have some time mid-July, Chicago area? I can free up a few days in my schedule, just to make sure this thing is legit and you didn’t get scammed.
  10. Your boat is amazing. I predict ass will be hauled. When does it get paint?
  11. G650. When do you start working on things like sail design and inventory? Are North and Quantum the only two serious sailmakers, or are there other options? Does your sailmaker guy sail with you regularly or nah?
  12. Go race recreationally for a year. Free classes on sailboat operation. dont expect to be on a boat like g650. He’s on a very high level.
  13. All this rabies talk has hexxed me. I think I have strep throat. Damn.
  14. I think you fucked that up. It’s either “all is fair in love and war,” or “all is well that ends well.” my man helobius is rabid, so it’s probably not going to end well. You must mean love and war.
  15. This, but I also kept hoping the fbi guy would flip out. At some point in time a red blooded American male who has observed years of child molestation just has to take matters into his own hands and effect the solution. Manners and rules be damned. Hate me all you want but if I saw any one of you sleeping with a 12 year old girl, chances are good that we would fight.
  16. if you want to clear your head of that YouTube video, search for frog sushi. You’ll forget about the rabies coursing through your veins, for a little while.
  17. This is what it’s going to look like.
  18. Stoopid sip. That’s a possessive postrophy, ‘cuz we owned 2012. Advantage aggy.
  19. If you have options, the Aloft hotel worked ok for me.
  20. Do you even Apocalypse Now, bro?
  21. Isle of dogs was good. My whole damned family enjoyed it - each of us for different reasons - I hope it wins.
  22. For something out of Venice area, call this guy. Probably he’ll put you in Hopedale but he’s good, has good guide jokes and bullshit and I would use him again. https://www.flybayou.com/aboutmichael/
  23. I’ve played a lot of basketball in my day, and my feet look nothing like that. I think this is something else.
  24. How does the chandeliers trip work ? Stay on a houseboat and get ferried over from the mainland? I just did a 2- nighter in hopedale here http://www.southernwaycharters.com/dogwood-lodge-hopedale/ it was pretty easy. Hopedale is not much to speak of but fishing access was good.
  25. Economists be damned. I wouldn’t trade any one of 21-25 for aggy.
