  1. So you are part of the problem if you claim complete bullshit without backing it up with anything and therefore default to assuming locals will cover some payment for the Arena especially for cost overruns. And the fact that you say you've seen nothing about who will cover cost overruns means either you're poor in your research or you have been gaslit by the dumbfuck COPSMETRO people. So to answer your question on who will cover cost overruns, the Spurs themselves will cover that as already laid out in their non-binding agreement: "The Spurs will contribute all cost overruns and amounts necessary to finish the construction of the Arena in excess of the amounts required to be contributed by the City and the County...." https://www.scribd.com/document/904664083/Sports-Entertainment-District-Term-Sheet Now, if you and COPSMETRO want to claim that this non-binding agreement itself is all a lie, then nobody can help you there.
  2. Yeah of course the people that paid money for the Spurs would most likely be in support of nearly anything that the Spurs themselves are in favor of. The majority that are against the Prop A and B are those that do not give a shit about the Spurs or basketball/sports in general. So at the very least you'd think they would be neutral to it since Spurs playing in downtown does not affect them nor will their local city taxes go directly to the building of the new arena. But the dumbfucks at COPSMETRO and others want to rain on everyone else's parade and have stubbornly justified their stance on false talking points like "I don't want my money going to billionaires". That's why when I try to talk about Project Marvel to these people, I don't talk about Spurs or basketball. But instead talk about how other shit that they might actually care about is impacted from conventions at the Convention Center to big events and major concerts at the Alamodome. And all of that shit the Spurs have agreed to invest $500 million towards.
  3. Do you literally not understand the first sentence of what he said? This is NOT just an investment for the Spurs, this is an investment for the entire downtown SA and the city so it doesn't become the likes of fucking Tulsa, Wichita, or OKC. Project Marvel encompasses the Alamodome, Convention Center, Court House, and land bridge which all have nothing to do with the Spurs, but a lot to do with much of the economic and tourist activity San Antonio currently sees and could see. Anybody that has visited San Antonio specifically because of some large event that occurred at all of these venues would know. This includes anything to do with Texas education and UIL (TMEA, high school basketball and football championships), DCI, Alamobowl, UTSA/UFL/XFL football, huge tours like Paul McCartney and Bad Bunny, and the NCAA Final Four. Speaking of, the NCAA have already said that San Antonio is no longer in consideration to host any future Final Fours specifically because of the aging Alamodome. Project Marvel is trying to fix that and also prevent any of these other major events from leaving town. Again, these items all have nothing to do with the Spurs and yet the Spurs are still willing to give $500 million towards this effort. You hardly ever see this from any other sports franchise so consider SA very lucky that they have the Spurs who are willing to contribute billions of their own money back into the community. Also it's funny how you mention losing the Rodeo would be a big loss. Because the SA Stock Show and Rodeo are 100% on-board with Project Marvel. They actually want the Spurs to move out of Frost Bank Center so they can have more access and control of the entire area to do what they want year round. And if you like Fiesta, then an entire revitalization of that area of Hemisphere Park + Alamodome + Land Bridge would make Fiesta even better. Right now, the Fiesta carnival that happens in the parking lot of the Alamodome is off by itself while the whole grounds of the ITC and south of the convention center is completely dead.
  4. For those that don't know, Gunhild Carling is a phenomenal Swedish musician who basically plays all the instruments with trombone being her primarily instrument. She tours with Post Modern Jukebox but also has solo shows in Austin every now and then.
  5. Starlink Mini on the Roam plan which is $1 per GB. I simply pause service when I don't use it. And I just carry the entire setup (Starlink Mini with power bank) in my laptop bag since it takes up just as much space as a laptop. It really is the best connectivity device to have in outages like this week, any dead spots when road tripping, and high cellular network congestion during large events.
  6. Starlink mini with a decent sized portable battery bank. It's one of the reasons why I got my Starlink and only activate service when there are no other options.
  7. Curious if you guys thought the same way about Anakin Skywalker in the Star Wares prequels? Because my friend was completely turned off at Anakin being this huge annoying entitled prick constantly complaining about everything including sand.
  8. Jon Hamm is not "LEGIT" funny like Bad Bunny according to Tina Fey and Amy Poehler. Start at 5:52.
  9. I mean it does occur at least once every couple of games (college and NFL) that a decent kicker will end up kicking the ball through the uprights on a regular kickoff (kicked from own 35). That's basically a 75 yard field goal. So anything from your own 35 or closer should have a decent chance.
  10. Of all the places what? It just simply looks like the only reason Kirk was there was because he was paid by Raisin Cane's to shoot a commercial. And since Kirk has his dog traveling with him for Gameday and Cane the dog is the face of the fast food joint, seemed like a golden opportunity to have some sort of collab with both dogs.

    SpaceX

Yep exactly. This video from Wendover 6 years ago also describes this economic revolution in the space flight industry by SpaceX very well. As Sam said, just imagine a new $2000 car, a new $100 laptop, or a new $70 iphone..... that is what SpaceX and Elon have been and are achieving with within the space industry.
  12. And actually a Turkey Leg is one of the more reasonable priced things at the fair or amusement parks when you consider the amount of meat you get in one turkey leg. At least the last time I got a turkey leg, the cost was around $10. Much better and filling than paying $8 for one corn dog.
  13. Yep. People still complaining about car traffic in and around any major event are the exact ones that contribute to the mass congested car traffic in and around major events in the first place. No different than people complaining about everyday rush hour traffic when they are the traffic. You figure it out by getting to your destination early or avoid those congested roads another way. For us we have always just parked far away for free near Winters Park and just bike/ride down the nice paved uncongested Santa Fe Trail down to the fairground. Then just lock up all of our bikes/scooters right at the entrance. It's fun being able to ride my wheel on the Santa Fe trail right along the DART waving at all the passengers inside.
  14. He's probably referring to the threesome they had in a low budget film they did together.
  15. For those people who keep on saying "What's the big deal?", I just say that it's like sex and totality is the orgasm of the eclipse. You just have to experience it yourself to fully "get it". Otherwise you'll have a case of blue balls your entire life.
