  1. For those people who keep on saying "What's the big deal?", I just say that it's like sex and totality is the orgasm of the eclipse. You just have to experience it yourself to fully "get it". Otherwise you'll have a case of blue balls your entire life.
  2. I have always just parked in the Stoney Ridge neighborhood and then rode my bike over along McAngus Rd. Always worked like a charm especially after the fan walk when traffic is deadlocked and shuttle bus lines stretch to hundreds of people.
  3. With how crazy nature can be, I wouldn't be surprised if it were a real thing similar to how Narwhals are actually real even though most people think they are as fictional as land unicorns.
  4. My coworkers mom thought "Dude looks like a Lady" was "Do the Funky Lady".
  5. Classic Function over Form case here. Is the looks alone a deal-breaker with how incredible capable the Rivian is? For me, I think I prefer the F-150 Lightning over the Rivian for all of its power capabilities and options. Ideal EV truck would be to combine the useful capabilities of the Rivian (gear tunnel, 4 electric motors, built-in air compressor) with the power capabilities of the F-150 (bi-directional power up to 9.2 kW, crap load of outlets in the bed and front trunk including a 240V outlet).
  6. The power output in Antarctica is obviously not as much as Texas, but that's not what we are talking about. Way to move the goalpost on your original argument that wind turbines don't work because they freeze up. I simply pointed out that the liberal pot-head smoking "green" power technology of wind turbines that you obviously hate and trying to blame for the current power situation can work just fine in sub-zero temperatures.
  7. Maybe not Texas turbines, but the turbines in Antarctica are turning just fine. So it can be done with proper equipment, planning, and management.... all of which seems to be lacking for Texas power plants including natural gas and coal powering ones. https://arstechnica.com/science/2021/02/texas-power-grid-crumples-under-the-cold/
  8. This happened to me today. What's happening is that there is a section of your hot water line going to your bathroom that is frozen. What you need to do is backflow the cold water line into your hot water line in an attempt to thaw/melt the ice that's stuck. I did this back turning my shower on to where both the hot and water lines were open and confirmed that the cold water was backflowing into the hot water line by seeing water come out of my sink faucet with only the hot side open. I did the same thing on the other side of the hot water line by running my kitchen sink between hot, cold, and hot/cold. After about 5 minutes heard some sputtering in the water lines and then hot water finally flowed through my bathroom.
