  1. Some of that also could explain Dowdle's decent season stats. They looked pretty good, but it was largely because the defense really didn't GAF about him. Useful, but not that dangerous.

    RIP John Sykes

I'll just put this hear, too. This 2004 Thin Lizzy show was my first and only (I know, it's not the real thing). I really went mainly for Deep Purple and Joe Satriani, who they were opening for. I hadn't really listened to Lizzy that much in my youth, just the few songs that people knew. After this show I was so impressed with the songs, as well as Sykes and Gorham as a tandem, with Sykes also lead singer, it got me to really dive deep into the Thin Lizzy catalog. Now they are way up there in my top favorite rock bands of all time.
  3. On paper, Ohio State should take this. But I have a weird feeling that Notre Dame is the team of destiny. I like the coach.
  4. John Sykes, RIP. I photographed him here with the 2004 version of Thin Lizzy in Dallas. \
  5. He's still younger than Brandon Weeden was when he was drafted, so maybe he's got a chance.
  6. Exactamundo. Get a decent staff with modern football knowledge. Or even better, future football knowledge.
  7. Most I ever spent on a guitar was a Rickenbacker 360 12-string fresh from the factory. It was absolute gorgeous and sounded great, and being a Beatles and Tom Petty fan I wanted one for a long time. But that neck kept seriously bowing on it like a bitch, so after about 6 adjustments over several months I sold it, and I was relieved to get my money back out of it. I couldn't play it anyway with my fatass fingertips on that skinny neck. I struggle enough with 6 strings.
  8. Aging comedians doing travel shows seems to be the natural progression of things, certainly worked for the Pythons. They tend to be good shows. I'll have to watch this someday. Conan was the last of the watchable late night guys.
  9. Throwing footballs around in the ice and snow after already seeing about 20 drops seemed like the wiser strategery.
  10. Now with KC's growing celebrity shithole booth you can pretty much do both at the same time.
  11. Commoders vs fecals, a match made for 2025 football.
  12. Damn sure not with the D he had in Dallas. Hey, great news: All of Detroit's hot assistant coaches are available now! LOL
  13. Looking forward to that douche blowing another 4 score lead in the Superbowl.
  14. If Kellen Moore is really 6-foot then I have a 14-inch pecker. And he's a total fraud as a coach.
  15. Keep in mind, most of the actual qualified candidates out there are still in the playoffs.
  16. I'm not sure. I think an ambitious young gun would be more likely to jump at a chance to coach the Cowboys than an experienced veteran coach that better knows what he would be up against. But it's really more up to different strokes different folks.
  17. That's probably the best strategy in almost every draft. The percentages of top 5 qb picks living up to expectations is not that great.
  18. He already had one foot in the grave and a size 16 shoe on a banana peel.
  19. I think the biggest problem with McCarthy was that almost his entire staff was old fucks that were somewhat detached from modern NFL trends.
  20. JJ and Prime just doing each other a solid. Deion fishing for a bigger contract at CU, Jerry getting massive doses of clickbait pub.
  21. He should have been offered an asst position coaching role after he retired, like other former players have. I think having the opportunity to coach his kids may have been a factor in that not happening, at least after that awkward brief career in announcing that never should have happened.
  22. Yeah, I'm trying not to panic yet. Hopefully available on streaming doesn't mean not available at all without streaming.
  23. Holy shit, that can't be real. Surely, Jerry is just trolling.
  24. I've been thinking this. Other teams kick the tires on fat Mike, look at tapes of some of his game management skills, and he's no longer a hot item, if he ever actually was. Or maybe Mike sees just how bad those other organizations are not looking like a better situation. Jerry may get his short term deal and kick the can down the road another year or two...or not. Both options scare me. Keeping the same status quo vs. making another dumpsterfire hire. I almost embrace mediocrity by now. Losing hope can do that.
  25. So, people think Jerry at this stage of his life is really going to hire one of the few dickheads in the known universe that has an even more of a bloated ego than his own? Someone who is going to demand all credit for any potential Cowboys success? I don't see it. But it gets people yapping and clicking on links.
