THIS CAST IS BRILLIANT!! If this show doesn’t win awards I’m going to riot. It just keeps getting better and better. My jaw hit the floor when Serkis showed up because I knew this arc was going to be a good one.
  2. That some good stuff right there, Mittens.
  3. Yeah, if Ovie isn’t going to give us any pass rush then I’d rather have a freshman miss an assignment then a veteran. Let the younger guys grow and develop because Ovie obviously hasn’t gotten the memo.
  4. Ovie is killing us. I was absolutely livid watching this play live.
  5. Yep, this. There’s also the board’s favorite in Aranda and the quick turnaround he had. Now he’s looking at finishing worse than Texas in the big12 after going 12-2 in year 2. This Texas team is volatile week to week, but still could finish 9-3 with outside chance for the big12 title. Who the fuck knows at this point. 8-4 would be nice at this point tho.
  6. I agree but there were a couple of drives where it was tho which is the head scratcher. We only needed a couple of productive drives in the second half and we win this game easily with Ewers having a horrible day. If the passing and run game are being inconsistent, I’m going to choose Bijan and Rojo to find a way to win 9 times out of 10. They get things going then Sark spreads the defense out with uptempo, quick screens and getting K Rob involved in the passing game. Something we have seen work time and time again this year with huge success.
  7. After sleeping on it, I think the defense played about as good as they could in the second half given the circumstances. Cook and Watts out, redshirt freshman walk on starting at safety, freshman nickel, Barron having to play corner, only 1.5 reliable LB’s, and of course the non existent edge. That’s a tough hill to climb on defense with absolutely no depth. They got inconsistent there at the end but imo the second half falls squarely on Sark and the offense. It’s crazy to think that Sark has done a better job in the second half this year, and when our depleted defense gives us a chance to separate in a crucial game, he and the offense folded.
  8. Week 4: if we had Ewers, we beat tech with ease. Let’s start a thread about starting Murphy because the Card is that bad. Week 8: it’s completely obvious we win this game with Card. What is Sark doing? (tbh I’m not against the idea of playing card this game but chalking it up to an automatic win is fucking stupid.)

If there is a big load of laundry to do that day it’s going on the tv, and the laundry usually never gets done in the time it should.
  10. I don’t understand the logic in Sark getting lucky last week with the fumble to end the game when earlier in the game if Cain doesn’t forget to play receiver we don’t even need the forced fumbled. Which, was a helluva play by Cook, not luck. There were at least 2 maybe 3 drives where Gundy was basically gifted a second chance because he named Zebras his favorite animal at the zoo. I mean this entire season we’ve been saying that without horrible luck with Ewers getting hurt, Texas is 7-0 going into this game. That obviously wasn’t the case with Ewers being human after all. It sucks but it is what it is with him today. Sarks problem is his inability to call the correct plays in times needed the most. For some stupid fucking reason, he’s amazing when the pressure is minimal but when we need a drive, he folds and forgets how to not appear predictable. And it’s not like the defense is doing anything remarkable to stop our offense. And yeah, execution wasn’t there today from a qb who has been nails all season. But there’s no excuse for Bijan getting 5-6 yards, next play making Ewers throw across the hash then running off tackle for no gain and we have to punt. It’s fucking ridiculous. We were running the ball fairly decent today and Sark would just stop. Why? I stated last week that the offense seemed to find their groove, especially on the last drive versus Iowa st. We were doing the same thing on the second to last drive with Bijan getting a first down on the first play, then getting another. Just running with ease, putting the ball in the hands of leaders in Bijan Rojo. Then we just stop for some reason. Completely the opposite of what we did against a far better defense the previous week. It’s absolutely mind numbing as to why Sark can be a roller coaster when calling the game. If the players are off, not executing, then we can forget about Sark adjusting to simplify the game and try to find a groove for the team to build on. Anytime he seems to find one, he stops.

The development of each character is spot on thus far. The way they are methodically working Cassian into the guy he is in Rouge One through conversations with his mother, Bix and etc is nice to see. I think too many times in SW, action scenes take the cake and we miss the personal side of things. Maybe more so recently. That’s why I think the dialogue and writing is so good in this show, I.e. Cassian and his mother discussing leaving together. There’s layers to each character he interacts with, which in return reflects the grey zone of the rebel cause. Not to mention Luthen, Mon Mothma, and the ISB scenes hold a bunch of tension, and have been some of the best in the series.
  12. I’m happy that the race is in our time zone but there’s something about waking up early Sunday morning with a cup of coffee and watching Brundle act like a chicken with his head cut off during the pre-race grid walk. Good stuff.
  13. The offense having a meh day but not giving two fucks and running it down Iowa st’s throat on the game winning drive was huge for them. They’re playing with an obvious edge to their game and I think it continues to grow this week against okie st.

What an awesome payoff. The visuals and cinematography were beautiful. The tension was there, too. It’s been a minute since I felt connected to characters in a Star Wars show but when half the crew went down I felt bad. Then, when Skeen decided to have different plans at the end, I was pissed and a little shocked. The Tie-Fighter pilots rushing to the ships was pretty cool. Tie-Fighters in general have been badass so far.
  15. Well now I’m not getting any ads at the moment. I think I’m good now.

So far Chinese blue noodle take-out, coco puffs style cereal, and the space adderall are confirmed to be canon now.
  17. I’m burnt ends and have been here since September 2018. Should I still be seeing ads?

Agree with all of this. The pacing fits because the casting, writing, dialogue and acting are all well done. Each scene feels like it has a purpose. I think the “no lightsabers” helps with the smaller story’s, especially. I haven’t felt a need to see one in Andor, and I’m enjoying that feeling so far. With Mando there’s Grogu so the force is more prevalent, but we still only saw a tiny bit of lightsaber action. The lightsaber allowed SW standout from other sci-fi fantasy shows. Anytime a person sees one they think of SW, even if it’s only a tiny resemblance. But the meaning and story behind them, along with other things (i.e. the force) is what makes SW great imo.

Question for all the nerds: do you think Andor still feels like Star Wars? Personally, I think SW can be multi dimensional in the way it can tell a story, with Andor leaning more into the slow burn style. What are your average Joe’s doing, and how are they making a difference? How did Mon Mothma become so important to the rebellion? All stuff we’ve kinda read about in books and comics but never seen on the screen. Some think Andor is reaching into other sci-fi genres such as blade runner, and taking the SW feel out of it. It’s too slow for it to be SW.
