  1. Ewers and Brooks were getting for sure 8 yards almost each check down. Give me that all day
  2. Him being athletic out of the pocket can help with his shortcomings as a freshman in the offense. Ewers is a straight line type of runner. He does really well though which is a testament of him wanting to be better overall (5 tds isn’t easy). Last year he was below average. The difference between Ewers and Manning is that Manning is more natural running with the ball. He can receive hits and cut up field better than Ewers.
  3. The problem runs deeper than what we’re seeing on game days. PK is a pretty good DC but some of the guys in the secondary have been here for a bit now and are just not getting it done. The Crawford experiment should have been over a long time ago, Taffe was a walk on for a reason, and Thompson is just plain slow and you can’t teach speed. Where is Allen or LTG? Are those guys misses? I love the physicality and proven ability Catalon brings but he has an unfortunate history with injury’s. To me the safety position seems like it was misguided and we are in this position because of it.
  4. You’re right. I think it points to the fact that our secondary doesn’t give us a lot of options in trying to help their faults.
  5. This is interesting in terms of creating some pressure.
  6. Taffe and Williams are the best duo we have at the moment. Thompson got straight up abused on the drive right before halftime. Then their last drive of the game Crawford had one of poorest attempts at a tackle I’ve seen this year and shortly after was replaced by Williams.
  7. They had at least 3 other penalties that we declined because the result of the play was better. There was still a ton of no calls that we would have happily accepted.
  8. He has 5 rushing touchdowns and a shit ton of rushes from the pocket for first downs. You’re acting like Ewers is a statue back there.
  9. You’ve got to be a fucking troll.
  10. Not even sure Murphy was reading anything on that play. This is stupid dissecting one throw and determining if Murphy will be good this season. Fact: Ewers has made that throw all season. Fact: Asking Murphy for that route to be his first throw is tough and he shouldn’t be judge on it.
  11. I honestly don’t know what PK can do. Not fast enough to run with the deep routes and not athletic enough to keep everything in front. To cap it off, they’re not that smartest bunch either.
  12. We were off with Baxter in what looked like a bad injury. Let’s wait and see but I’m going to be sick if it’s bad and he’s out for the season. He was night and day different from last year and put in the work in the offseason, both mentally and physically.
  13. Except they ran the fly over the entire game. We were killing them early with check downs and underneath stuff. The disappearance of our running game at times didn’t help
  14. Nah, our rush lanes were better this game. Gabriel is the only qb that has hurt us with his legs. You should be worried about any qb that make simple reads because our secondary is hot garbage at the moment.
  15. Familiar name
  16. Agreed. Turtle Tom flashback knowing we only beat Kansas st 19-14 that year.
  17. I think he really does means it but it’s being taken way out of context for its intended purpose. He’s not wanting them to treat it as the little league world series style of “fun”. This was right before AD caught the td pass to go up 10. It’s more about the guys being loose and going out enjoying the game they love. It is fun as hell to go out there and legally knock the shit out of somebody.
  18. Sam Pittman, is that you?
  19. Yay
  20. There was nothing over complicated, flashy or being described as “aesthetic” with the play designs on the goal line. First 3 runs were pure power. Our bigs vs their bigs, get 1 yard. Same with the throw to Worthy. Our best outside blocker and quickest wr. Get 1 yard. We failed on both.
  21. Not much different imo. It’s more about Herman not being a good coach. Sark could follow the foot steps of his predecessors and fail to get over the mediocrity hump (chuckles just sucked tho). The one thing Sark has going for him is he’s not as stubborn compared to Herman. Sark understands his flaws and try’s to correct them. He’s developed a good culture. The players, important people inside and outside the program, and all the fans like him and want to see success.
  22. Not cool with the double I remember thinking the same thing. Two weeks and this is the game plan? Herman was only going as far as Sam would take him.
  23. On top of Maryland, he absolutely shit the bed against Oklahoma st and West Virginia.
