  1. Parson's agent, David Mulugheta, lives in Austin and I believe is a part owner of the Kollective along with Kenny Vacarro, and former UT RB Jeremy Hills.
  2. Nobody is suggesting that we load the team up with nothing but 1 and dones, but this idea that we totally do away with going after uber elite talent because 2 guys who weren't uber elite talents decided to transfer after one year is foolish.
  3. I believe it was KD or Shaq when referring to Porzingis when they first saw him, before his injuries.
  4. Apparently Grant Nelson just put his name in the transfer portal Must not be getting the draft feedback he was hoping to hear because I was certain he was off to the league.
  5. Dallas area AAU is a tough nut to crack. Until Beard got commitments from Morris and Holland we were damn near 0 for 20 years in cracking prospects from top flight Dallas AAU swuads. Andrew Jones was somewhat of an anomaly with his family really being from Midland and they only moved to Dallas to broaden his sister's prospects when Andrew was young. And Myles Turner played for an off brand AAU team so we were fortunate we didnt have to deal with the normal DFW cesspool in his recruitment.
  6. So you think Paolo Banchero wouldn't move the needle? How about Cade Cunningham? Some of you are taking this delusion a bit too far. There's a level of talent that is definitely a must take in any and all circumstances, it's just a matter of how refined that talent is and the personality of said player. Morris and Mitchell aren't one and done talents. Yeah Mitchell may get drafted, but it's not based on his skill level. Someone like Tre Johnson is a guy you take on Monday through Sunday. Ron Holland may be on that level too. And given last year's play, Anthony Black was that level of player as well and no level of post decommitment justification makes this any less of a fact.
  7. Hmmm maybe you're right, but I'm starting to feel like DQ's influence on our draft choices is starting to rival the control Marinelli seemed to have back in the day. Those wtf? corners we drafted a few years ago can't get on the field and a few other defensive picks didn't make it out of training camp.
  8. He ended up like the person he hated the most when the show started, a drunk, like his Dad.
  9. As soon as Haith was hired I wondered what Donewald thought about that. I assumed he wanted the Associate HC position.
  10. Call me crazy, but Im still hoping against hope that we can talk Morris into staying. Morris was my most favorite player in our recruiting class and his signing was a landmark shift in our DFW recruiting woes. I echo what someone above said in regards to Morris looking a lot worse than he was when you contrast his play with the 25 year olds we fielded on our roster this year. And we did a poor job basically employing Morris as a spot up shooter in terms of his development. Plus, some of the guard transfer prospects that we're looking at outside of Abmas are less than exciting and we're definitely going miss the defensive stalwart that Morris had the potential to develop into.
  11. Frank Haith was actually well known for running great ATOs. I know his being black and all sort of obscures this fact, but he's being hired for more than just recruiting.
  12. Yep i forgot most of the names of the guys on that squad, but Randy Duck was a legend in Garland at that time.
  13. Terry recruited Richard Johnson (Tre's father) when he was an assistant at Baylor. However, Richard only played at Baylor for one year before leaving. So while Baylor may seem to be the bigger draw for Tre it's a little more complicated than it appears on the surface.
  14. I believe Beard has already filled out his Ole Miss staff.
  15. Going to UT and being associated with the university was extremely important to Holland and his family. That's why he was so steadfast when commenting on his commitment after the Beard fiasco. It would've taken a complete disaster of a season for him to decommit. And he more than likely would've just gone on to the G league rather than committing to another school.
  16. Surprisingly, Gerry says he's a much better shooter than what he showed us this year. If he comes back and can take a massive jump offensively that would be huge.
  17. Pretty sure he got to the sweet 16 a few years ago and of course he did it again this year.
  18. This stat is amazing if true.
  19. Forget a Texas big. I don't remember any Texas player, big, wing, or guard, hit that shot as consistently as him.
