  1. I just got back from a 4DX showing. That movie was GREAT to watch. Loved the back and forth with Jack Black and Momoa. If you are able to and have one nearby, go to Regal and watch it in that format. Just remember to sit your drink on the floor or it might make a mess with all the moving and shaking going on with the seat. 4DX is going to be the best way to see Minecraft, by far. I am going to try to go back next week. It is a movie that just makes you feel good and it was really well done.
  2. Apparently so. I would imagine it gets rescinded. The official who ejected him for that should probably go ref some rec league ball. You should never get ejected when it is a fan who starts these interactions.
  3. The Thunder, talented as they are and with having the likely MVP, do not really worry me if the Lakers can advance three rounds. Very tall task to make it that far for the Purple and Gold, but watching the Thunder they just give off a 2007 Mavs vibe. Holmgren has such a high skill level yet is Charmin soft at times.
  4. I met Goldman once when he came into the restaurant I used to work at in Manhattan. I think I was the only person there who recognized him. He was very nice and answered a couple of questions I had for him. We need more reps like him, Swalwell, Crockett and AOC.
  5. I mean of all the out of left field firings this one is now the cake winner.
  6. No this clown played basketball at Texas way back before anyone cared that Texas even fielded a basketball team. He’s somewhere in his 70’s now and still hangs around the basketball program. Probably wouldn’t be too hard to find out who he is for someone good at that kind of stuff.
  7. Here is the difference. Our conversation was centered on friends of his that live in a Scandinavian country. They were explaining why socialized health care was easier to implement after World War II. It was the government telling their citizens we can help you. Most everything was in disarray so they accepted what the government asked of them. Collectively their way of thinking became to trust the government to make good decisions on behalf of the population. That, to me, is an example of how society can function when people all share in each other’s collective well-being. Here you can’t tell an entire population what would be best for them because you say socialism and you hear the Nazi comparison come out from 80 million people. That leads to the less educated/F you pay me types that will vote for an orange clown instead of making the choice that would help more of the population. That’s ’Merica at its most selfish. We’re kinda stuck right there. If there is one thing I have learned in my travels across this country in the places I have lived it is that we just refuse to agree on a society that benefits all of us. The inherent selfishness that permeates America is antithetical to how a modern society needs to be able to get along on basic things.
  8. A Working Man with Jason Statham. Enjoyed it and nothing felt like they were trying too hard or that the movie plot did not fit together. It was pretty good action and the storyline was easy to follow.
  9. My first four years of life were spent in a fifty foot single wide trailer that was owned by my Grannie and Papa. We were waiting to move into the house that was built by my dad and mom. Took them six years to build it, but my dad, who was from Germany and an auto mechanic by trade (Never will meet a better or more skilled mechanic), built the house using one of those yellow DIY books. My mom still has that. They built it as they got more money as they were also making payments on the 15 acres of land at the same time. That trailer was awesome though. My Oma moved into it when we moved out so I had my three grandparents living right next to each other as a kid.
  10. Crockett, AOC, Booker and a few others are out front. I will say, to state the obvious, that there is no John Lewis right now. Someone is going to have to be the new face of Bloody Sunday 2 in order to really get the public mobilized. Otherwise te protests will wind up being performative art and I don’t want to see that be the outcome from this.
  11. A guy I work with put it fairly succinctly. Americans do not like to be told what to do. We never have and never will and that’s a big weakness when you cannot agree on common sense solutions for the entire population. We will never be like the countries in Europe that take care of the population like the countries in Scandinavia. We have too much “F you pay me” types to ever come together as a whole and transform our society into something that works for everyone. I still think we can eventually get along again, but it is going to have to take millions of people realizing how much they screwed up by joining a death cult led by a clown.
  12. I also don’t mind Derka starting this thread and asking who you would want. Sometimes you will get a different perspective if you can take the time to listen to what evidence someone is providing about their position.
  13. Kawhi does not have the same drive of any of those players listed. I am not sure he is self-motivated to play more than Embiid is, much less a player that absolutely despises coming in anything except 1st.
  14. Get back to me in a couple of weeks when the entire top 20 is his.
  15. Drew Magary is one of the best writers in America and he was cool to meet after he and David Roth did their podcast together. I knew that was him before I even looked at the link. I have mentioned it several times, but anyone who wants to get great news on politics, sports, the environment, nature or really anything they want to write about needs to get a subscription to Defector.com. David Roth's political articles alone are worth paying for. I met him in New York at a Defector birthday celebration in 2023 and he's a really, really smart guy. I will try to link some of his articles here.
  16. You leave those fine South Pacific folks alone! At least they aren't hurting anyone by worshipping crates.
  17. Here’s our gay hating former president of the Young Conservatives of Texas. I know this is him because he listed that last part in his LinkedIn bio. This screams closeted to me.
  18. And that was that incel’s moment where he decided he’d dedicate his life to making others more miserable than himself.
  19. Bernie Mac and Robin Harris.
  20. @realgreggym is a gutless and racist coward. Show your face again here you worthless one foot in the grave trash and regale us with more lies about the children being gone.
  21. I saw a few bits and pieces of what he said. It was amazing to hear a politician talk like that. I genuinely do think he is sorry and that he does care about Americans. Anyone that wants to bring the negativity with Booker right now can kick rocks. If you are unable to appreciate what this man just did just sit down and keep the negativity to yourself. Better yet just shut up completely if you have nothing positive to add to Booker doing something like this. These are the moments that galvanize people to do better. I’m actually really proud of him for this and glad it took Strom Thurmond’s name from the history books. Booker is good people.
  22. She chose you over a location because she LOVES YOU. You know this. Go tell her how thankful you are to be her husband for no other reason than to just say it. I think it’s beautiful that she picked you to share a life with. Things will change and these idiots will eventually be gone, but you can’t replace love.
  23. Aww man thanks! This is a blessing to get to be on the ship four days a week. For me this is something that will never get old. Doing this is a way to educate people who show up from around the world, but also it’s a reminder to folks what the cost is of freedom was and is. I wish I had had the mentality when I was younger to have been able to have served, but since I didn’t this is a small way to give back to folks and keep memories alive of sailors and Marines that served on the Missouri. One guy that is new along with me is someone that helped tow the Mighty Mo from Long Beach to Bremerton in 92 when he was in the Navy. Having someone there to work with like that is pretty cool.
  24. I have only taken my dogs into one store and it was a Petco to get them some shots. I don’t take my dogs to the grocery store. I don’t mind seeing dogs at the grocery store though. I do understand people taking issue with seeing pets in a store where food is sold. If a store is willing to let them in though so be it. You won’t see my two in a grocery store or any other store outside of a pet store.
  25. Carlos Watson getting a pardon, well, that’s something right there.
