  1. As many of you here know I am in the midst of getting a masters in World War II History from ASU. This has been a fantastic journey with the classes I have had. Right now I am doing a World War II in Literature class with Professor Horan. Her correspondence back and forth has been really helpful in better understanding what I have read. I would highly suggest reading The Plague by Albert Camus. Such an amazing work and glad I have now read it. It’s an allegory to France having been occupied by the Nazis. I think that book would be a really good read for many of us considering what we are witnessing. I’d also suggest reading the works of Gabriela Mistral. Her fight against fascism in Spain, South America and Europe before and during World War II is a good guide for what we should do as well. Find a bit of spare time and read what I mentioned if you can. There is hope in their words.
  2. Kick was what you want on an onside. Great game to watch. Will come back here again. Matsuzawa is going to get a shot to kick on Sundays with his leg and accuracy.
  3. Oh my God he dropped it. Right there in his hands.
  4. Touchdown! Perfect pass. Need two now!
  5. Alejado takes off and keeps the chains moving.
  6. One last chance for the Bows. At the Bulldog 36.
  7. I will say this for Alejado.. There is some talent there. His line is just not good, at all. I believe he’s starting as a true freshman as well. Chang is a pretty good coach to learn from as well. He just needs some good line play. Correction. He’s a redshirt I believe. Enrolled early so I think he’s 18 years old right now. Pretty good poise for having to run for his life all night.
  8. Might just do it for this one. Killer pick 6.
  9. Finally hits from 27. Solid .250 average on the night. Kicking camps really paid off for this kid.
  10. Bulldogs INT. Inside the 15. What a great play.
  11. Jesus tap dancing Christ Fresno’s kicker misses AGAIN after Coach Chang froze him with a Timeout.
  12. Matsuzawa from 52 yards. GOOD!
  13. That catch was clutch!
  14. Fresno has been the better team by quite a bit. They should be up more than just one point if they had a collegiate level kicker instead of the Make-A-Wish kicker they brought. Crowd is pretty cool here though and the weather is absolutely perfect tonight.
  15. Hawai’i is up 9-7 to start the 2’d half and their offense has not scored for them yet. I am actually having a great time standing down here watching the game. Warner’s son has had an alright game for the Bulldogs. Still waiting to see Matsuzawa kick a field goal though!
  16. Suck it Baylor!
  17. I think we beat Baylor. We can run the football and Baylor has an FCS-level run defense. Leavitt and Tyson should have at least one big play in them. I think we have to score at least 35 to win. Should be fun to see if we can get after Robertson.
  18. I remember back in the late 80’s seeing the KVUE highlights for games. The guy who will forever stand out to me was Vic Lombardi. I remember he penned the nickname Pablo “Picasso” Jass for the sophomore QB for Lampasas back in 1994. I believe he gave him that nickname either after Lampasas beat LBJ in the playoff upset or not long before that. He was the local Austin version of an ESPN caliber guy. Glad to see all the success he has had back home in Denver as well as beating cancer.
  19. 7th grade was the Texas History year in Lampasas. That was fun back then. Had Coach Carroll teaching it. He made history fun. The “Baron” was an eclectic character, but like most Prussian military leaders he was exceptionally well organized and understood what that did for an undermanned force (Which Prussia always was in regards to its neighbors.). In my opinion his contribution was equal to what any one person did for the Continental Army.
  20. Please just stop quoting this poster. They post solely to get attention. Have some dialogue with posters here that argue in good faith (I know, I know.) and add something positive to the discussion or at least something worth debating about.
  21. I can’t see how he isn’t included. Back when education in Texas was normal he was someone we learned about in elementary school.
  22. I was just talking about him Wednesday with @Orale. One of the biggest contributions of the entire war was his part in it.
  23. Lampasas 31 Wimberley 24. Pretty good 2nd half from the Texans to make this one close. Lampasas has a pretty good shot to go into Stephenville undefeated if they can beat Waco U next week. The Badgers have some really good line play up front on both sides of the ball which has been good to see.
  24. Lampasas up 24-7 on the road against Wimberley. Wimberley having issues with all the formations they are seeing. Coach Rogers pulling out some of the old formations his high school coach, Rod Hess, was using 30 years ago when he was the QB of the Badgers offense.
