  1. Ok y’all I’m at 108 hours. I’m so fucking pissed. And I don’t even know who the fuck to yell at!
  2. I’ve been reporting the outage to Austin Energy constantly for the last 2 days. Finally today the site said it was aware of the outage. Every other time it’s been saying it does not have a report of the outage. The fuck y’all don’t, I’ve been reporting it constantly. So MAYBE they means they’re finally working on the problem. my love for Austin has taken a serious serious hit this week. I don’t think it’ll ever recover. I think I want to move once my husband finishes his program.
  3. As I sit in the cold and dark for the fourth night in a row without power and second night without water, I feel like I live in a failed state. As I plan with my roomie to hunt down gas tomorrow and get to a grocery store early for water and MAYBE even find a hot meal somewhere, I wonder, if this isn’t a failed state, what is? I am a Physical Therapist and my husband is a soon to be nurse anesthesiologist. We have options, and we are seriously thinking about leaving. This is a joke of a response by the state and COA. I’m so embarrassed
  4. I just don’t understand. Austin Energy talks about prioritizing those who have had power out the longest. Well motherfuckers, I’m waiting
  5. So has anyone gotten water back? I haven’t yet. I’m hoping the outage is due to the treatment plants and not because of frozen pipes in the building.
  6. I guess we could. But honestly, my biggest concern right now are pipes around us. I would rather be here if anything happens
  7. Morning! Coming up on 78 hours now. I think I could get used to no power. Who needs it
  8. Yep we did that with most perishables. Loud off freezer stuff is bad. Figured it was more important to save more immediately needed food.
  9. Apparently half the building is on a separate circuit. I can see St. David’s South from my balcony and house lights are all on in that direction. This lucky fucks in that part of the building are on the good circuit
  10. My sarcasm meter ran out of juice about 5 hours into the 64 hours of no power. Sorry
  11. Uh I wouldn’t be so sure about that. I think extreme things like are going to happen more often. Extreme drought, flood, cold, heat. We don’t have the infrastructure for that.
  12. 63 hours now. I’m getting more and more pissed. I’m really really trying to keep cool about it. Makes it worse when I know people around have power and our apartment still doesn’t. WHY
  13. I’m perplexed. It looks like power is somewhat restored in my apartment building. The hallway light is on, majority of lights above doors are on, our isn’t. Our power is not on but why not?? I put in a report to Austin Energy which I’m sure they’ll get the top men on. I’ve also emailed my apartments but no response from them. Why do we not have power but others around us do?!
  14. We lost water, but we also got an email saying a pipe busted in the garage and that it may interrupt water to some apartments. We’re going that’s the reason and that it will be running again at some point today
  15. 54 hours for us too. Spirits are pretty low in the house and it’s getting fucking cold. Wish I had a fireplace 🙁
  16. Power came back on last night around 11:15 for about 15 seconds. So that was nice.
  17. Sorry to be bearer of bad news. Hope it’s just a fluke and not further deterioration
  18. Just got word that MIL who has had power the whole time just lost it. She near a hospital. I wonder if if it finally got to the point that even circuits near hospitals are getting taken off.
  19. You’re right. I’ll let the blackout and loss of potable water in increasing municipalities be the proof.
  20. Is it me or does it feel like our state is falling apart before our eyes
  21. Texas pride is definitely taking a beating which is a good thing. We should be embarrassed and then do something about it. Unacceptable.
