  1. I think that you can probably trust, for the most part, the numbers from hospitals and work backwards from there to arrive at your own conclusions. There may be some fudgery there but I'm sure you can come up with a number or percentage to disqualify that fits your own narrative. Can we agree that there's a substantial strain being put on the health care system by patients who are in fact being hospitalized BECAUSE they have the COVID? Fear of course is optional.
  2. That's one way to get off the ship on a duty day. - SM3 Diablo
  3. Caged critters. East African Crowned Crane. Or as my nephew said, "That's one pimped out crane!". I call him, the bird, "Soul Crane".
  4. I'm about an hour and a half from starting 9 days of vacation. Wheeeeeeeee!!!!!!!! Just in time for the first real extended blast furnace this year.
  5. Shit, it was the sharting that shut her down.
  6. I shut your mother down last night.
  7. Eh, for adults it's fairly harmless. Unless you're a dude wanting to watch a chick shove her fist up some dudes ass.
  8. Corn is for texture. That's all.
  9. I'd be happy as hell to have one good eye.
  10. A fair number of us here were once members of Uncle Sam's canoe club so I guess that's why I remember that tidbit.
  11. He brings it up from time to time, an uncle I think it is. That and bank branches. Cherishes one, despises the other.
  12. Their bikini team is aight but I don't know that the "kill the weak ones and let the rest sort it out" strategy has proven itself just yet. What if the disease causes long term health issues among the ones who recover the first time and the SECOND time you contract it you get really sick and DIE. Who's going to be laughing then? The bikini girls?
  13. Some of the poor bastards that do have to go to the office are on a rotation here also. Work some from home and the days they are required to go into the office are staggered with others in the same boat.
  14. What if he finds a pretzel in there?
  15. I don't know why any office setting is having employees come in right now. It makes no sense. They're taking plenty of precautions as you can see by the preemptive order to continue sheltering in place for the remainder of the year. Those who do report to the office are wearing masks 100% of the time and strict social distancing is being enforced. It's a business that requires a lot of hands on paper work or the infrastructure was never designed for some of the most sensitive information to be sent outside of the internal security systems. I'm sure this has them rethinking a lot of things but they're taking care of the workers the best they can as I see it anyway.
  16. Got word today that there's a good chance my employer will not be letting anyone back into the office until first of next year. Probably 1/4 of the workforce, 150? out of 600 - if that many, still reports to the office but those working from home will continue to do so for the foreseeable future. I might as well just go ahead and buy my retirement beach house now, who's going to know the difference?
  17. Canned sardines with poor texture. I mean the ones that are overly dry, or spongy and have too much chew to them.
  18. July 6, 1990, work on the Superconducting Supercollider project started in Waxahachie.
  19. Sorry for the double quote, here's the shot that kinda is what you're describing.
