  1. I'm putting one together and will post it when it's done in this thread and probably in the game thread. There are discrepancies between the different projected depth charts from the media. Mine probably won't be an exact match to the official one, if they even post one, but it will have the players likely to play on it and not be far off. I don't know if we can even expect an official one will get posted. They haven't always done so. I also have a full roster I'll post as well or you can print out the official one which is 5 pages. Mine is 3 pages despite having a larger font. I'll go ahead and attach the roster here, but will also post it with the depth chart when that gets done. 2025 Texas Football Roster.pdf
  2. Indeed he did and after his first season, he had some tough slogging to persevere through. It certainly could have gone south or sideways from there. He's done an admirable job all things considered. Now it's time ...
  3. Yet, he was battling it out with the jagger backup for all of fall camp. Yes, because Day would never use the competition as a way to keep his backup engaged and likewise keep his preferred choice motivated to the fullest. We might even see that backup in as a change of pace QB since he is more mobile. Or, he may have to actually take over the game.
  4. To play devil's advocate, he's had a fall camp to refine his game and Day, I'm sure, is a good QB coach pointing that stuff out to him. We also know that the QB is aware he isn't going to get hit in practice or the Spring game. Could read that as both a positive and negative from an interpretive standpoint. But essentially, he will speed his clock up in game and he well knows the caliber of pass rushers he will face. No doubt Day has emphasized getting the ball out quickly for this game and he might not be as motionless in the pocket holding onto the ball like in his spring game where he absolutely would have taken hits or was late getting the throw off. He is capable of manipulating the pocket and extending plays based on his HUDL tape. Question is, how well can he do so against Texas? Also, I wouldn't be suprised if they have especially worked on high pointing the ball with J Smith and whatever else they feel like will maximize connecting with him. Without a doubt they will try not to have a repeat shut-out of him like last time and I'd be amazed if we can do so well as before.
  5. I think whichever OL performs best (pass pro and opening holes for RBs) will be the largest determinant of the game's outcome, but one could directly correlate that to QB play. I don't have a problem with saying their OL has, on paper, an edge over ours until we actually have enough live footage to tell us otherwise, but I believe they have a tougher DL to face. On the flip side, our OL will have to contend with crowd noise unless we can take the crowd out of it early, so they have to be super disciplined and focused. Likewise, avoiding turnovers and keeping penalties to a minimum. I'll also add, that while I love blocked punts, roughing the kicker penalties make me livid and I sometimes wonder if on balance, attempting to block punts hasn't cost us more than we gained from the successes. I've not ever tried to tally it up though. I'll add getting caught by obvious fake punt situations to that list.
  6. You're not the first person I've seen make a similar claim, but Wisner was listed at 200 lbs on the 2024 roster and currently at 194 lbs on the 2025 roster. Of course, the roster figures have been known to be less than trustworthy before. Regardless, I expect that Wisner is stronger, his body more mature and his composition better distributed being another year in the system. He is a motivated player, and barring an unlikely rash of injuries, won't need to carry the bulk of the load this season. Frankly, I'm just as excited at the prospect of seeing Clark on the field as Baxter. And while it's not likely we'll see Simon in game 1, I'm optimistic he will be fun to watch assuming he can hold on to the football and protect his QB when called on to do so.
  7. It will be interesting to see if that happens. On our side, I wonder what Niblett can do out of it if Sark uses him in 21. As for the Buckeyes doing it, it might help to provide extra protection, but we are deep enough at EDGE, that I don't see fatigue being an issue for Simmons and Burke.
  8. In that video you posted earlier Scipio says their interior OL is the same Ohio State finished the season with. They performed well against several good DLs, so they have that going for them. Main question is how they do at tackle against our edges and whether they can run inside on our deep interior DL.
  9. I see this reasoning as trying to make a bitter pill slightly more palatable. That, and as far as logos go, it's not the most ostentatious. But I'd be lying if I said I'm happy about it or even OK with it. There are so many ways logos and advertising can make it into a stadium like banners on sideline walls, etc. Seems like keeping the field itself free of corporate clutter is not a huge sacrifice to generating revenue in the interests of keeping the game focused on itself.
  10. You mean like Kurt Bowels asking Arch during player access how deep into the playbook did Sark get into for the upcoming game? A ridiculous question Arch deftly handled.
  11. Not sure how good our DTs are at pass rush. Brevard is known more as a middle clogger. Perhaps Maraad Watson is more of a disrupter? Then there is the as yet to be seen effect of Kenny Baker's coaching on our portal acquisitions. Likewise, OSU's current OL is unproven. I think Florida, based on what others have said, will give us a good second data point for a better assessment. Their interior is supposed to be good at moving people.
  12. Agreed. They also posted the clip without a date, but Bobby clearly states "as a prospect" and his reasoning behind his opinion is not a bad take in that context. Neither could he have known Wingo had vision problems. It will be interesting to see how Wingo performs this season with that corrected and a QB better equipped at hitting long passes.
  13. If you find a way to do this please lmk.
  14. I wouldn't call the secondary a liability, but for game 1, they are a question mark. Replacing Barron and Mukuba is not an afterthought. Guilbeau has it to prove. I feel better about Jelani McDonald's development and Taaffe's experience on the field. But they are tasked with likely their toughest assignment of the season against Ohio State's WR corps. Hopefully, the pass rush helps them out and makes Sayin's day a terrible one.
  15. It's possible that their own OL tackles developed negating the need for the Rice LT. Not saying that's what happened, but it's possible.
  16. Vasek and Spence may factor in as well.
  17. Goosby in conjunction with Cojoe and Chatman.
  18. Real Ale Brewing - Oktoberfest, 6.0% Alc. 👍
  19. Beats blue smurf turf any day though. I refuse to watch a game played on Boise's field.
  20. Stanford QB consistently underthrowing and behind his receivers. Wobbly too.
  21. Klieman's multiple boneheaded decisions to go for it on 4th may well be the difference in this game's outcome. Not a given it would have changed the outcome, but if he's this boneheaded all season, it doesn't bode well for Ks. St. in close games.
