  1. Lol - you must be new around here. We have all kinds of opinions, on damned near everything.
  2. clearly there is only one correct answer - best summarized technical analysis is - 🚀
  3. Thanks - missed that update
  4. Looks like Champ is going to have to find another pit to run - Good luck Jim, hope it works out for you, missed out on getting to Dozier's my last trip to Houston. https://www.doziersbbq.com/ THE LAST FIRES IN THE PITS AT DOZIER’S BBQ WILL BE LIT ON MARCH 30TH, 2024. We are saddened at this difficult decision, and it has been an honor to be a part of this community since 1957. We invite you to come by for a fond farewell from the Dozier’s family through the end of the month.
  5. Not sure the exact technical answer to the first question; for the second if you have to ask it is probably true. The NYSE and NASDAQ are separate entities - some history on the NYSE https://www.nyse.com/history-of-nyse#:~:text=In 2008%2C the NYSE acquired, listing on NYSE in 2005. NASDAQ is also a separate publicly traded exchange - https://corporatefinanceinstitute.com/resources/career-map/sell-side/capital-markets/nasdaq/ Both ICE and NASDAQ, Inc. are publicly traded, and the largest investors are institutions like Black Rock, Vanguard, State Street, TRowe Price, Lazard, etc - so it seems like it is a circle within a circle, or maybe just a big money manager circle jerk.
  6. 2nd fair warning - I am heading to Chicago for the weekend, last time I did this was end of Feb 2020 & the market went into crash mode. If this happens again in the next week it confirms causation 📉 Price me wrong
  7. fair warning - I have no principles
  8. please stop saying that, it makes my spidey senses tingle and I want to go layer on some SPY puts
  9. two things https://xkcd.com/1880/
  10. Ride the wave, or get caught in the undertow
  11. I am so disappointed in Black Rock - they had that chance and didn't name that fund the US Economic Dollar Institutionalized Liquidity Digital Opportunities Fund That's right - USE DILDO Fund
  12. The other leg of crazy valuation was the near 0% interest on "safe" investment in thinks like Treasury's, T-Bills, Muni debt, etc - because when you would compare the potential risk to the safe return you can get to multiples of 20x earnings (or sales) The simpler world was comparing earnings and dividends to interest rates, and then determine your risk appetite; but then tax inefficiency and stock buyback reduced the number of companies paying diviidends & 0.10 % interest rates made anything a better return. And then Covid hit, the Fed turned on the stimulus machine and "normal" recognized economics seemed to go right out the window
  13. If I ever get a UPS package like that I am going to put it into a frame along with the passes and the flag the I buy when I am there - and on the back of that frame will be a print out of each of the reject notice I have received for the past 25 years. But I also look forward to that day each year when I get the notice that the lottery is now open, because I'm a masochist related to the AGNC ticket lottery
  14. Time to look at 9-12 month SPY & QQQ put pricing - or to check for news stories and see if Michael Blurry is short {again}
  15. Let us think about these 2 statements, and ponder. So Nicole is verbose in dopplegangers and body doubles. Who is to say that her body double isn't in Atlanta, to give her a solid alibi, whilest Nicole terrorized the gay with murder at the lake in Austin. Now I'm not saying it but if it walks like a duck, and talks like a duck, and throws rocks while posting shit about rock throwers .......
  16. This could be one example of why your roll your 401k into a self directed IRA, you can buy crypto ETF. Thinks that make me go - hmmm this is something to think about 🤔
  17. Rahm knows how to put together a dining experience
  18. I am curious, not trying to be a dick, but what is the ceiling for bitcoin? I have never really been able to grasp the economic model that drives the valuation, other that it goes up because everybody wants some. Explain to me like I'm an idiot, what would be a good entry point and exit point for this as an investment. I get that it is an alternative to a fiat currency (US$) because those can get devalued by disaster, coup, cyber attack that locks up the banking system, etc.
  19. Japan government pension fund looking at crypto investing - this could be a sign of a top, if you remember when they bought into US real estate buying large properties in Hawaii and the western US (famously they purchased Pebble Beach, purchase in 1990 by Minuro Isutani, sold in 1992 to Sumitomo Bank sold the the current ownership group in 1999). Japanese investment has a history of chasing peak investments, or maybe creating them; not that this will be the case with crypto. But there is a cautionary tale in there. https://www.cnbc.com/2024/03/19/japan-pension-fund-explores-bitcoin-as-an-investment.html
  20. Some people are just going to disappear in China as they deal with this issue; unlike here where the likes of Dick Fund (Lehman), Hank Greenberg (AIG), Kathleen Corbet (Std & Poors) and many more just walked away with the millions (billions) that they had already made.
  21. I will sell you my IBRX for 1/2 of my cost, and even cheaper for my AMY - and you would still have plenty left over
  22. I have a suggestion for a huge improvement to Xwitter, I would like to screen what I see to only sports - actually I have sworn off X and it has been at least 6 months since I've been on, but I may log back in for March Madness. I don't want to see and political crap, or investing/finance crap, or what Egon has done or said; hell I might pay a $1 or 2 just to see what I want, not what other people like. OR should I just stay away from it, it had turned into a shit show with paid blue check marks and other Egonistic mistakes..
  23. so is he a millionaire or a billionaire - when did he start buying BRK stock, long enough ago that he has A shares, or just B shares like us poor folk?
  24. The SIL that put the trip together has us on a private excursion, which means smaller ship and not 300 of us. We did something like that in Nassau last year, snorkling, remote private beach, and looking at the turtles (can't swim with them anymore because a shark ate a tourist in 2022). We could move when we wanted and didn't have to snorkle with 100 people that were on the cruise sponsored excursion. A little more expensive, but worth it.
