  1. We are back there next week. I love walking the skybridge (and riding the golf carts Mrs Fairway); if you go to the Rotary House gift shop, 2nd or 3rd floor, they have a selection of Antone's Po-Boy's, and a separate location has a nice make your own salad bar, May's building cafeteria usually has some good selections but closes early, nice outside rooftop garden at May's building for late Oct-March. Cool artwork on display for Halloween and Christmas. The Zoo is nearby, best attraction is the aquarium. Best of luck to you MIA
  2. I can tell you how they tamed the crowds at Oakland Hills in 2004, I went on Tuesday practice & Friday comp rounds. There was a "strict" no signature policy in place on Tuesday and the US team followed it strictly, they hardly acknowledged the fans, on the other hand the Euro's brought sharpies with them and went up to the crowd (mainly between greens and tees) and signed hats, tickets, etc and chatted up the fans. And I can tell you that this went a long way for those who were there to not make it a hostile environment. Poulter was one of them actively signing, and I will admit that I only booed him a couple of times, instead of before and after every shot.
  3. fify - you need to reload your meme jokes
  4. Michigan is highly rated because they have a great promotion machine, they were great at the turn of the century (the one 125 years ago), they played a weak OOC schedule for years, have an iconic helment that their fans think they invented, their "best" coach in any of our lifetimes (except maybe ArmyBrat) never won a natty and had a terrible bowl record. Harbaugh was mediocre at best, one game away from being fired before they started to cheat - - - but they won that natty so they are good to be highly rated until 2120. Because that is how college ball is done. Go Green!
  5. It will just be another reason to send the NG into cities with Dem mayors
  6. Had I paid attention, I might have bought tickets and gone.....because that is the only way I am going to get onto Cypress Point.
  7. Great rallies, 3rd set Sabelenka serving to win
  8. great - now @Nicole44 has the identity the pursuer/next victim
  9. MattPatty is the weakest link, luckily Team Euro is strong enough to win with our without Fitz getting a point or two. Actually, Alex Fitz would have been a better choice.
  10. This 100x, all the way back to his DIII days at Grand Valley.
  11. I had almost forgot how much I hate the commercials and non game time during football games
  12. That reddit AMA - blacklab
  13. Guess #1 as of close of market 9/30/2025 S&P 500 - 6537.50 Russell 3000 - 3810 BRK.b - 535 you know my rep, place your bets accordingly
  14. That is all of us, once we realize that Surly is actually an AI based board and there are no more than 15 "real" posts. The rest of it is just the matrix and a LLM creation.
  15. And now we know the real reason the National Guard is already deployed in DC, and about to occupy major cities.
  16. Good to see that the hat controversy is alive and well.
  17. https://a.co/d/hesBQ4M it's a link to Amazon
  18. Had a birthday this week, and the kids got me a car door arm rest to help getting in and out, and a motion activated set of lights for under the bed. And they weren't gag gifts.... Fuck those kids. But at least I got lucky
  19. Not buying Berkshire in 1989 after first learning of it in 1987, but having some money for the first time in 89. Good thing I didn't, because the cost was about$3,600/share. Not buying Apple when the iPod was successful, Amazon when it was an online bookstore, I laughed at Tesla and his fanbois as the company lost money for years, and sold my Nvidia 20 years ago because it wasn't going anywhere and basically was used in gamer PC's. Somehow, I've done okay with SPY, BRK b, PRWAX, a couple of Penny stocks and options plays into COVID and out
  20. I sure that's happening on a cold April day, when the clock strikes 13 o'clock.
  21. I have never been so glad to live in a small town; nobody is getting either up about Podunksville politics, and sending in the guard to fix"problems". Just sitting on my porch, whittlin, sipping shine, watching the corn grow, and thinking about all those big city problems y'all have.
  22. Team USA is doomed, going to be embarrassing to lose at Bethpage. Dark days ahead, the point of argument will be that Keegan should have played.
  23. Checks to see who posted this; sees it wasn't me, immediately feels better.
