  1. I don't understand why this has to be so complicated. If the score is tied at the end of regulation, there is a coin flip to determine who gets first possession in OT. No dillydallying over whether you want the ball, or play defense, or defer, etc. You win the coin flip, you get the ball. Kickoff and play as you would at the beginning of any other new quarter of play. Each team gets at least one offensive possession. If, after each team has had one offensive possession, the game is still tied, it becomes sudden death. It's really not that difficult.
  2. Offensive rookie of the year, a couple of pro bowls, winning nearly 2/3 of his starts; yeah, the guy really stunk up the league. Probably wishes he had had Troy Smith's career.
  3. Incorrect. The gates of CIA HQS are guarded by the CIA's armed Security Protective Officers. From the way the story is written, it sounds as if this situation was kind of drawn out for quite a while. As soon as the SPOs stopped the suspect, and he refused to leave/cooperate, the SPOs most likely called the FBI, as they are folks who have the skills and experience with negotiations in standoff situations.
  4. Jim Bertelsen was the first Longhorn name I remember. The first college football game I remember watching was the 1969 Texas/Arkansas game. I was an 8 year old living in northern New Jersey at the time. A few months earlier, I had learned that the company my dad worked for was moving its HQS to Houston, and we'd all be moving to Texas the following summer, so I was all in on everything Texas. I just remember hearing Bertelsen's name repeatedly, and he became my first Longhorn hero. RIP, Mr. Bertelsen

  12. BADA BING!!!!!
  13. Apologies if this has been addressed previously, but how come TCU gets to have their stadium full, but DF is still at 25% capacity? If we're going to host, that needs to change.
  14. Goddammit!!! That same pitch was called strike one, now it's called ball one.
  15. How can you just stand there and look at strike three?
  16. Time for some insurance
  17. Thank you Jersey Mike!!!
  18. A four pitch walk in which at least two of the pitches were strikes. This ump sucks.
  19. 'Horns are making solid contact but hitting right at the frogs.
  20. Those "Anything you can do, I can do better" Gatorade commercials can die in a fire.
  21. Remember in the 2003 season, when LSU defeated OU in the BCS championship game, thus making LSU the BCS college football champion for that year, but AP voted USC number one in their final poll? USC still tries to claim 2003 as a national championship, but they are the only ones who recognize it. I remember. Point is, I think at this point, AP and UPI post-season polls are irrelevant, and the playoffs determine the final rankings, at least for the top 4. Always possible I'm mistaken.
  22. Honorable mention??? I'm guessing you're not old enough to remember the SWC days. The Texas/Arkansas rivalry was every bit as heated and hate-filled as the OU rivalry, but with the added spice of conference championship (and occasional national championship) ramifications. Add to that the home-field atmosphere, and the fact that the game was traditionally played the week after the OU game, and you've got a college rivalry game that really takes a back seat to nobody. And fuck aggy. They never were anything more than annoying fucks who were fun to abuse on an annual basis.
  23. Hmmmm...the very picture of All Gas, No Brakes.
  24. Yeah, I always heard it was "ugliest guy on campus". Not one of UT's proudest moments, if true.
