  1. It's really funny to go back to 2022 in this thread and see all the people who cheered on stormtroopers attacking protesters on our campus talking about how important free speech is to them lol
  2. You're describing a huge segment of the brain rot outrage fueled boomers that are killing our country
  3. Sounds like a firestorm where the fire is convecting it's own air
  4. Yeah I would imagine calling in the storm troopers on your own student body would get some staff and faculty and students pissed at you

  6. So to be clear, you're citing a Twitter post in which a communication referred to the leader of pediatrics in the hospital as a version of a colonel, and using that to say he's a member of Hamas? Not possibly a translation issue in which a military person refers to a civilian leader by a rank his peers would understand? Idk man, you're really enthusiastic about claiming every one Ben Shapiro says is a terrorist is a terrorist. It's weird. I'd like to see more evidence than a Twitter thread before I go claiming a pediatrician is actually a terrorist. But don't let me get in the way of your outrage
  7. Wow he'd fit right in with Aggy with kids and Frank Drebin and Incredulity
  8. Max Velocity on YouTube had the important forecast for Friday It could make the CFP playoff a shit show though
  9. First one down https://apnews.com/article/bird-flu-death-louisiana-82e4d00876e62cb2b13bb621826c84f9 NEW YORK (AP) — The first U.S. bird flu death has been reported — a person in Louisiana who had been hospitalized with severe respiratory symptoms. State health officials announced the death on Monday, and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention confirmed it was the nation’s first due to bird flu. Health officials have said the person was older than 65, had underlying medical problems and had been in contact with sick and dead birds in a backyard flock. They also said a genetic analysis had suggested the bird flu virus had mutated inside the patient, which could have led to the more severe illness.
  10. We're gonna be running a "soft invasion" on our neighbors before long, gotta get our living space
  11. Can you outline how Biden was "anti-business"? I don't see it outside of repeated bullshit from fox business. The economy (read: stock market) grew by leaps and bounds and the oligarch class doubled up.
  12. God Bless Capitalism! It truly ensures the most efficient allocation of capital for the greatest good.
  13. For the same information, except not reported by Ben Shapiro (who owns and founded Daily Wire): https://www.reuters.com/world/middle-east/israel-detains-medics-after-hospital-raid-health-officials-say-2024-12-28/ There's no evidence in the daily wire reporting of this pediatrician's involvement with Hamas except for a goddamn twitter thread. Your link is a Hapsburg report that's eating its own shit and presenting twitter punditry as undeniable fact.
  14. Musk is literally running the "Tomorrow Never Dies" plot lol https://jamesbond.fandom.com/wiki/Elliot_Carver
  15. Well, he's absolutely planning to snatch the power of the purse from Congress. And history tells us that we generally should listen to them and heed the warning when they plainly say what they want to do.
  16. Frankly I think that's the way most government agencies are going to go. Congressional oversight is waning in general, and power is being consolidated into the executive. Plus, it's a rhetorical calling card of trump (and authoritarians in general) to do things that break the norm, and stun their opposition into indecisiveness and inaction. Blitzkrieg and all that.
  17. Lotta "should"s that won't stand up to the might of the shareholder my guy. Why give those pissant sick people better care when they could return an extra 2% next quarter??
  18. [Laughs in intellectual property law]
  19. He's the incoming head of a brand new government agency that's a pet project of the incoming administration. Technically or not, he's trading on Trump's political name and capital
  20. It's in IPIHB I'm pretty sure it was some statie toadies or some shit coming around because of all the anti-abbott rhetoric after he called in the jackboots against students on Campus. Same thing as when Plonsky tried to shut down the Shag for calling her a cunt constantly.
  21. It's effectively a senior VP, reports directly to C-suite. Basically if a government body is mad at them over taxes or this or that, she's involved with smoothing things over and keeping their peepees from getting whacked My point being: these extremely professionally competent people are greedily drinking the poison of misinformation. An exec I work with is still espousing the benefits of colloidal silver taken orally and ivermectin - he was at Raytheon for 15 years before his current role with my customer, most of that time in a SCIF. Dude is smart as hell, but believes in bullshit. It's maddening
  22. Because patients have no rights and are used as cash dispensers by fuckwads with MBAs lobbying and bribing until the law statutorily protects their business plan? A fucking Advil costs $200 at a hospital BECAUSE OF INSURANCE COMPANIES. And guess what? I don't have any say if they get between healthcare and my family. And if you don't have "insurance" than you won't even get admitted to any type of care short of the ER
  23. My MIL is the head of controversy for a major company, she is the person who talks to the IRS for the corporation and is smart as a whip. She fucking falls for Facebook scams and disinformation like nobody's business. She's got multiple masters degrees and a CPA and is incredibly intelligent, but she is frighteningly prone to recency bias and believing something if enough of her friends say it to her so. And then when her facts are proven to be wrong, rather than admit it, she just says "well I don't think that's right" and moves on and changed the subject. It drives my wife crazy, and it's shocking how many businesses executives like that I come across in a completely different industry and line of work from my MIL.
  24. Lex is giving strong "just give the bully what he wants" energy. President Zelensky sitting down in a room with Trump and Putin to "compromise" does not end well for Ukraine, as fridman so vapidly wishes and "dreams". It's like lex is trying to protect a future interview with putin by not saying anything to offend that strong man authoritarian
