  1. It gets better if you know how he sprained his ankle (and it’s melton btw)- he sprained it turning around and watching a HR fly out of the park. Something like that. Maybe jogging back to the fence to watch it sail over the 20 foot high wall in LF in MMP
  2. This guy has had stuff before the media before on the Meyers deal. He’s not lying about having heard it. His info source could have gotten it wrong but I doubt it.
  3. Astros guy that knows things online- grade 2, September absolute soonest.
  4. True. List wasn’t meant to be exhaustive.
  5. So, if it’s a grade 2 calf strain (and I don’t believe yet that they have any idea it’s not torn or an Achilles) we are looking at 8 weeks. Call it early to mid September if nothing goes wrong i think you have to plan for finishing the year without him. that tells me that we definitely need Chas back at the end of the all star break so we see if we have to fix CF or not. I don’t love Mullins but he plays CF passably (same as Chas) and hits left handed. Hes basically almost a must get at this time. Ideal would be a platoon with he and Chas at LF, but one can play center and one can play left if Meyers, Yordan and Melton all don’t work out and if Altuve gets shifted to 2B in playoffs. probably ideal playoff lineup Peña, Paredes, Altuve, Yordan, Smith, Diaz, Walker, Chas/Melton, Meyers/Mullins PH- Caratini (DH if Yordan is dead of has a hook for a hand by then). PR- Melton if he doesn’t start 3rd catcher- Salazar- never plays, utility/defensive replacement- Dubon this requires one trade for a mediocre dude that nevertheless fits us perfectly, plus Yordan, Chas, Melton, Meyers and Pena to all get healthy. All of their timelines are such that they should easily be healthy by then according to what the team is saying. But, Astros medical staff.
  6. If that’s all it is thank goodness. You’d think they’d be able to figure out if it’s an Achilles or a torn calf, but you’d also think they’d could ID a broken hand or broken ribs, so who knows.
  7. His era was a little worse than Abreu, his FIP was much better. He was 2-0 and none of the 4 games he gave up runs were important to the game, whereas every time Abreu gives up a run we lose.
  8. Going into today he had been our best reliever. True story. You can even look it up.
  9. Not gonna be today man.
  10. Hummell and Trammell have combined to go 0-4 with 4k’s on 13 pitches. Impressive. Andrew and I could do better I would bet. He wouldn’t likely swing. I might try to bunt. Definitely would have with 1&2 and one out.
  11. By the way- this ass hat pitching for then has a 52% hard contact rate. We look like we are swinging nerf bats.
  12. Did you see him leave the field? Sure as shit looked like Achilles. also you’ve been mocking me for months about the medical staff… believe me yet?
  13. Call Chas up and play him every day for the year. I bet he will be ok. He was average to good until last year and he got hurt and never got consistent AB’s. He probably didn’t forget how to play at 28 years old. He can still get there. It’s time for us to lose a 3-2 game.
  14. Paredes says shut your mouth.
  15. Too bad he’s not LHH.
  16. Just a reminder- this team had scored 15 runs in their previous 10 games coming into the icebox.
  17. Calf injuries lead to Achilles injuries, right? just guessing as worst possible scenario bc you know, that’s what the deal is.
  18. So, we gonna single handedly let Jose Ramirez, 1 of only 2 good players (Kwan) on their team sweep us. Alright alright alright.
  19. I have him on ignore so it’s not like we are buddies, but I say or right Indians at least 55% of the time because I’ve been calling them that for 44 years and every time I see Cleveland on t translates to my brain as “Indians”. Just like Washington and Redskins. It’s highly possible this isn’t a statement of obstinacy but rather a lifetime of saying one thing and the brain. It fully translating over to another. my dad still calls the cardinals Chicago in football occasionally.
  20. From an evolutionary standpoint I don’t understand how he can be alive if he can’t protect himself any better than that. come on dude.
  21. First inning you are like- Paredes/Smith/altuve. Ok. We can make something happen 2nd inning: Diaz/Caratini/Hummell: that’s kind of weird they are hitting their 7/8/9 in the middle of the order. 3rd inning: Trammell/Short/Corona. What in the actual fuck is going on here fellas? Is this the B side on a spring training split squad?
  22. Crazy eyed Optimist. 2027.
  23. We aren’t that tech savvy. Blame andrew- he doesn’t want to dox himself.
