  1. To me a candidate announcing early would be good just to have an "official" opposition to Trump/MAGA. I think the last thing the Democrats need to show right now is patience. Trump is burning everything down at an alarming rate. There has to be a sense of urgency. Maybe there's a better play, I don't what it is.
  2. Tim Walz is like the most normal human being in the world. And he was basically labeled as a freak and a traitor and pedophile.
  3. I beg people to stop believing this talking point. It relies on some sense of "normalcy" within the electorate and government, which doesn't exist anymore.
  4. I totally agree. The revolution has been talked about for decades but never happened. I don't know the details but clearly they aren't organized enough to do it themselves. I'm just saying I think the vast majority of the diaspora are pleased this is happening. From my experience they've been mostly sympathetic or supportive of Trump from the beginning. But to be fair, they would have supported Obama doing this too IMO.
  5. I won't pretend I can speak for the diaspora, but a lot of Iranians outside of Iran are good with Israel's attacks at the moment. Not sure that eliminating military officials will get it done...it's the mullahs that run the country. They are so desperate for regime change that any action is good action. I'm not holding my breath this works out.
  6. For fuck's sake.
  7. I mean, look at how he says "Well they are being moved out because it could be a dangerous place, we'll see what happens." He's clearly acting like he has a "secret" he doesn't want to spoil. He absolutely approved it.
  8. What? He knew this was coming. From last night: ssstwitter.com_1749775444986.mp4
  9. Thanks. I know they won't do it, but the DNC should get together and encourage candidates to announce if they already intend on running. It'd be a clear signal to Americans that the Party understands we are in an emergency situation. I won't pretend it will solve something, but at least it's strategic and possibly slow this full and uncontested assault from Trump and his cronies.
  10. Who gives a shit. It will distract him. And it gives Dems a loud voice that gets attention. Right now it's just dozens of dipshits saying the same thing over and over again that isn't gaining any traction.
  11. I can't find the post to give the poster credit, but in one of these threads someone mentioned that a candidate should announce they are running for President. I actually think this is a very good idea and maybe one of the few good things the Democratic Party can do right now. Fuck the norms. If there are people truly planning on running in 2028, whether it's AOC, Pete, Pritzker, literally anyone...announce it ASAP. We have to show this country that there is a possible change in 2028. That there's some hope for the future. That there's an option for these dumbass Trump voters that are quietly unhappy about what's going on. Create actual opposition to Trump within the Party. They'll get tons of media attention.
  12. Anyone that's been an extremely well known public figure for years will be worthless. Even Obama. His presidency was effectively lifetimes ago. Swisher and Galloway are intelligent people, but fall into the same traps as everyone else. No one from the past will save us. This is completely new territory, we live in a world overloaded with information that becomes meaningless very quickly, nothing will stick. Trump is the last God in American politics for the foreseeable future. We have to do the work. It will take the many, not an individual. I'm not sure how we do it. Maybe worth a new thread.
  13. The midterms are too far away. Trump and his cronies are moving at a lightning pace to fully take over this country. Schumer and Jeffries cannot be the faces of the Party right now. Two bozos that are deeply embedded in the old rules and decorum of American politics. If they actually care about this country they would cede their power and allow some fresh faces to do the work needed to fight the Trump administration. People who will challenge Trump like there's nothing to lose. That said, I don't see Dems being able to move the needle enough. This will be on us. The people have to do the dirty work to fight off authoritarianism.
  14. There's so much misinformation/disinformation online, we've all probably made the mistake of posting something that wasn't true. The blaring alarm here is that most Trumpers never acknowledge it or apologize for it. If I got duped and posted something false, I would immediately own up to the mistake if called out. People on the right rarely do. None of this is actually about the truth to them. I'm more disheartened by the actions of regular people than the traitors running the country.
  15. The Padilla situation is a good test for the party. So far Dem politicians are just tweeting their disgust on social media. Are they gonna just talk or do something?

  17. Senator Alex Padilla is forcibly removed from Homeland Secretary Kristi Noem's press conference in LA. "Hands off!," Padilla can be heard yelling. ssstwitter.com_1749752853505.mp4
  18. Take a bow, JJ Spaun. What a round. Bogey free.
  19. LIBS HAVE BEEN SEEDING CLOUDZ!!!!
  20. Just looked up that tweet. It's from July 31, 2024.
  21. They'll probably be lightning fast for the rest of the tournament in a few hours.
  22. Conditions are good at the moment, so it's funny hearing the commentators in this Aberg/Hideki/Scott grouping keep saying "that ball's gone" but they end up holding on the green.
  23. Austinites can summon robotaxis to burn to the ground at protests starting as early as June 22nd?
  24. I love how the Trump administration does something Ana doesn't like and he directs his anger at us.
