  1. I mean he united a bunch of deplorables, into one basket, at the very least. That's unification. I'm sorry you have trouble with basic information gathering and reporting. He's taken a group of people and combined them to make up a 20-30% minority coalition of people who are a problem and at odds with the rest of America.
  2. I guess the idea is that Trump has been a great unifier of those people and the unified outpouring of anti-sitting President sentiment is evidence of his ability to unite a group of people. I can see it. Just weird to me.
  3. Dude it's not that deep. It's young, stupid (mostly) males cosplaying and aspiring to be like their dads-- the VP's and C-suite of industry with a lot of money and comforts-- because they are young and ignorant. The point is, you never saw it during the Obama years (at least I don't think). Same dynamics were at play.
  4. Not sure if this has been shared, but I can't recall any other time, no matter the party, where a sitting President was so vocally (and out of context and without any reason) decried:
  5. buy tomorrow morning and get a free 10% for doing nothing in a few weeks/months. Easy to say when not my money, but historically that's what is happening with this sell-offs. Check out last year around this time, same thing.
  6. The problem with society and communication today is we take half-truths or crafted images pushing an agenda (on both sides) and then let everyone jump to conclusions and let the outrage machine kick into gear. If this was a test question and the prompt was "Explain This" the only acceptable answer on a multiple choice is D) Not enough information
  7. It's worth a call back and re-reading the article that was the beginning of the end of Beto O'Rourke's political career: "I was born to be in it". Vanity Fair should be credited with the kill, but it will likely go to Abbott. Much like pneumonia gets the COD for a lot of deaths that wre really something else. https://www.vanityfair.com/news/2019/03/beto-orourke-cover-story
  8. Are the Haitians claiming political amnesty or whatever the term is where they are appealing to the risk of life and limb due to the dangers of their country? Maybe stemming from political destabilization due to the Haitian president's assassination a few months ago? I think having tons of black, French-speaking people trying to pour in and raising a lot of visibility is going to raise the ire of the latinos at the border and illegal mexicans around that way, and so you'll see this handled in a more politically strident manner than if it were the traditional hispanic/latino situation at the border.
  9. That was my attempt at trying to pay homage to Norm Macdonald on the RIP Norm thread and make a joke and try and pastiche with his tone/voice. My bad!
  10. He’s very problematic and should be canceled for his anti-Asian behavior in the 2004 classic New York Minute. Also the movie that represents the peak of Eugene Levy’s career, as a side note.
  11. Just got around to watching this as TLS2 has been regulated from appointment TV, but this episode was rad. I loved it. Maybe my favorite episode of the season as an absurd one off and much, much, much better as a risk than the stupid rom com crap and Christmas in August.
  12. Good post and good for Biden, indeed.
  13. Makes me think. If the mainstream media/Democrats want the 30% entrenched Trumpers to do anything, they should use good ole fashioned reverse psychology and pundit for the opposite outcome.
  14. I missed that he was asked for sources and didn't respond. Let's let him provide those and then I can laugh at you people, how is that? I try and assume positive intent, so I think he probably got busy with work and life or maybe missed it as I did. That said, and I don't want to speak for you, but the writing style wasn't impressive (no offense; it wasn't offensive or substandard either, just nice and functional) so I think you missed the mark on the criticism there. The content is the best part by a country mile and is what I'm celebrating. That and the big brain sheeit, that is.
  15. It's telling that nobody can address this lol. good job sheeit, you win this thread. washparkhorn loses.
  16. Yea, France had billions of dollars in a deal to give them inferior subs. France is really showing poor form by being mad about this. It's not really apples and oranges, your deal isn't as good because the subs aren't as powerful and Australia should be free to take the better deal without you crying about it. https://www.france24.com/en/tv-shows/business-daily/20210916-major-disappointment-for-french-shipbuilder-as-australia-cancels-submarine-contract
  17. Surprisingly good game, NYG choked this one away but haha good.
  18. I bet you won't get a response to nailing it.
  19. Wow; yea, fair enough. We are very far apart because I thought the writing was superb.
  20. It was a fantastically written neutral analysis. That you still yet have a problem with it is telling. Either be a sunshine pumper or you are an enemy of the state, got it.
